London Anime Con Summer 2014 - This Weekend

So, yeah, after going to the 2013 con as my first ever convention, I'm going to the Summer 2014 one as well.

Anyone else planning to go? It's 5th/6th July, I'm gonna be there both days.

Sound like a fairly big event. You know some visitor figures?

It's not that large actually. I'd say somewhere between 200~300. It's one of the smaller cons, but honestly, I don't like *massive* cons, and most of those happen up North, which is out of my travel range seeing my budget and the price of trains and such. [That and I would go mad sitting on a train that long]

Edit: Apparently it's been refurbished since last year, and the new capacity is listed as '100-1200' probobly depending on the exact event. Given the stands and such, I'd change the upper estimate to maybe 400 at it's peak.

But that's 400 at the same time, people come and go, and there's 2 days of event.

From last year, at the start of the event it was quite quiet, but picked up during the day to being a lot more busy in the mid-afternoon [Peak feels like 3~6pm, events dependent] and then it would slowly die down.

London's (MCM Expo Comic con) main con is this weekend.

LAC is tiny, but not as awful as it's rumored the first ones were.

Hyper Japan (seems to now always clash with my summer holidays) is a nice London con, although best for things like lolita fashion and cosplay.

Yeah but I'm kinda moving back to the family home this weekend so MCM was out of the question.

Giving this a boot up the backside to ask if anyone here is going. Seeing as it's Saturday/Sunday and all. Arrange to meet up if any of you guys are going and whatnot. [I won't be hard to identify seeing as I've paid extra to be a founding member and I'll have a pre-made badge labeled 'Raikaria']

Regardless; if I can manage to figure out how to hook my old phone up to the computer I might be able to share some pictures of stuff that happened there.

I ain't cosplayin; I can't get the resources and I don't know how to do so. I'm going as Raikaria. But I do know from both last year and the forums so far that there will be quite a few cosplayers.

I won't be able to... but then again, I'm not AL's biggest fan, so I generally don't go to their events as a result. Plus, we're pretty busy with house stuff; our next con won't be till Minami 21 next year... wedding anniversary con and what not~ :V

Yeah I'mma try to get to Minami 21 next year.

Anyway; first thing I did was win a tournament and win a ?90 headset. Yay.

I didn't get much chance to take cosplay photos; most were busy doing stuff and so was I; but I got a little bit of time to geta  few today. Sorry for bad quality. I was gonna get a large group photo but we all had to go inside since the outside area was closing and it was too dark inside and crowded for that large group photo. Some other standouts included a Temari; complete with giant fan; some Sword Art Online stuff and a couple of other misselantious ones; like an Assassin's Creed.. Assassin [Couldn't tellya which one] and a Team Magma Grunt.
