> Lyrica: SONG - S'CROW FUNK.

You use S'CROW FUNK on FAIRY A, inflicting it with the SCARECROW status ailment.
Now that the fairy is a scarecrow, I guess you could say it's a...

FAIRCROW!
...Yeah.
In any case, now she can't use physical attacks. FAIRY A won't be doing any jumping now!

FAIRY A uses JUMP!

She jumps on your head for a marginal amount of damage. Unsure why that worked, you check the battle log.
It turns out that as far as stats are concerned, JUMP is a magical spell that does JUMP-ELEMENTAL DAMAGE. Turning her into a scarecrow actually achieved negative usefulness, since now you get a wooden post to the head instead of tiny fairy feet. You really hate this battle system sometimes.

FAIRY B uses JUMP! But it's a different kind of jump. She just jumps offscreen and doesn't come back down. Well, whatever.
It's your turn again.
> Lyrica: Check skills and equipment. You can't get into your menu screen in the middle of a battle, but here's the gist of your default commands:
SMACK, your default attack command, is just sort of there. Bards have really crappy weapon selection and you can use your keyboard without hands anyway, so you don't have a weapon equipped.
SACK is actually a pretty flexible command, dealing with the points you put in ITEMTECH. You can use items with increased potency, rig up impromptu battlefield hazards with the stuff in your inventory, attempt to steal items from opponents (though not as effectively as an actual thief), or just beat up enemies with a literal sack of junk.
SONG is your most developed ability, allowing you to apply an exceptionally wide variety of buffs or debuffs. In fact, you can probably cause pretty much any status you can think of, though the potency may not be as good as you'd hoped.
HYPERSYLLABLIZING forces the target into a short rap exchange. The loser will be demoralized, possibly losing stats or turns, or even backing out of the battle entirely. Be careful who you use this on, though, because it can backfire!
Or you can do something that's not on the list. That's always an option.
