Fighting Marusa's second spellcard, to avoid falling bullets I back up a bit....but forget I'm playing as marisa, misjudge my slow speed and run right into a bullet that was falling below me, wrecking my 4.0 power and making the rest of the spellcards a pain.
>_>
EDIT: also marusa's assholish survival card she has on normal and above X_X whenever I think I've figured it out, I haven't and run right into a bullet.

Wait, are you saying that her seventh card is hard? >_> It's pretty easy, you just gotta position properly.
I understand the triangle pattern you have to move in, but it's kind of hard to weave through densemaku that you can't see.

Plus only being able to hit Nue one third of the time, even with ReimuB compensating for it, is terrible design 90% of the time.

Triangle? lolwut. The basic pattern I do is demonstrated in this video by our good friend, bjw:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDmNnfx7H4Y&feature=channel_page

skip to 7:38. The first large movement to the side is probably the only hard part, really.

Huh. Turns out a no focus clear of Phantasm is much more difficult that a no focus clear of PCB Extra. Or maybe it's just that it's 3 am. Probably both, the point being that I failed miserably. :V

"The battle as a whole is very similar in feel to Koishi, so if you enjoyed SA's Extra, then you'll probably like this."

Definitely looking forward to that. Especially her oh-so-easy survival.

Did what Sodium Dichromate said.  It went a little better; I captured the first six cards but had to bomb twice for the usual reason.
Rainbow UFOs is just about as horrible to play as it is to watch.
Went through the first three phases of her last card at 1.00 power due to dying so often to Rainbow UFOs.
And you can guess what happened after that considering I'm posting in this topic.

And... I really don't feel motivated to try again.  It feels like a letdown to have to fight Nue at the end of the stage; I wish the stage could keep going.

And when I do get home, I'm so tired I can't get past 2nd stage in any games I try!

"Hey I hate Extra as SanaeA, let's unlock it with MarisaA!"
"Man this is going pretty well, no deaths or bombs for the first three stages!"
"I am so gonna beat up Mura- oh shit I died in the stage portion of Stage 4."
"Oh well, let's just keep going, it's only one de- what the fuck, I died again."
"Just remember to bomb, you'll miss out on a few UFOs, but there's so many tha- GOD DAMMIT I DIED AGAIN."
"Okay okay okay, you're at Murasa. She's easy, just don't pa- did i seriously just die at her opening attack"
"Anchors? These are easy, all I have to do i- shit, I forgot MarisaA only hits right in front of her. Oh well, captured."
"Second card! Y'know I remember right after UFO came out and this card always clipped m- *gets clipped*"
"This is so stupid. At least her third anchor attack is eas- WHAT THE FUCK I DIDN'T EVEN SEE THAT BULLET MARISA'S LASER BLENDED IN WITH IT"
"Oh god I have no lives left and I hate her survival card BOMB BOMB BOMB BOMB BOMB"

Then I beat Murasa, had a perfect Stage 5 run somehow, then died to Shou's opener and ragequitted. :V

I have a normal 1cc going in UFO.  I get to Murasa with one life under max due to a screw-up on the stage.  Thanks to her survival card, I leave with four lives.  Clinging to them with a death grip, I keep them up until Byakuren, where I somehow manage to get clipdeathed in every way imaginable before losing my last life on the Shinki card to a bullet I didn't see.

I'm done with UFO for awhile.

Anyway...
Byakuren. AGAIN. One life, three bombs.
First: Captured.
Second: Captured.
Bombed Nonspell.
Third: Captured.
Bombed Nonspell.
Fourth: Captured.
Fifth: Captured.
And lost my life at Flying Fantasia at 5 % Health with one bomb in stock.
WHY UFO? WHY?

One time I got really close to beating IN's extra stage only to get a game over on Hourai Doll.

Thankfully I managed to beat the stage on my very next attempt.

After months of on-and-off attempts I still can't beat PoFV's lunatic CPU while using Shikieiki. A tier list describes Shikieiki's anti-AI abilities thusly,
"As is often the case, her fiercest attack becomes child play to the AI, and one of her weakest against-human attacks becomes like kryptonite---her boss attack laser. The random nature of this makes defeating the AI quite frustrating when the stars don't align and a piece of cake when they do."

What they failed to mention is that said aligning of the stars which makes it a piece of cake happens once every other Century. I suppose I could turn to another character more aptly equipped to combat the CPU but that would feel like a big time sell-out.

Anyway, this isn't very RAGE-inducing since my determination to one day stand triumphant over them all continues to increase with each beating I receive. One day, one day.  ;D

Is it just me or do the Four of a Kind clones shield Flandre at times?
Gotta love these runs when all 3 clones are dead but Flandre still has over half HP :V

Sometimes, thanks to random movement.
You can still take the card out fairly quickly just by staying under the Flandre with the spell circle, which... apparently is not quite as obvious as it should be~

The more obvious thing is, I can't watch the entire screen at once ::)
All I know is that she goes left a bit where it is a bit easier to dodge the initial barrage, but then she tends to run off to the other side....

More rage. UFO. Stage 4. For some reason, I still pull suicidal stunts to get the red UFOs when the entire screen is filled with crap.
2 deaths right at the beginning of stage 4. Reset.

Japan laughs at your feeble humanity
Going left at first is the best way to start.  The first set of blue bullet rings is also fired by the real Flandre, so if she drifts away early on you can find her that way as well.

It seems like whenever I stay home alone to play Touhou to avoid interruptions, the phone rings much more often than usual. Not rage inducing in itself, but more when I return and I find the phone call put me out of flow.

Four of a Kind can actually become trivial with enough practice. The main idea is to try to keep an area around your character within your attention, it's a skill that you only get with time, but you'll develop it the more you play.

As for Four of a Kind, the different colors of spheres are aimed in different ways, although I can't exactly remember all the colors. Some are based on your position while some are based on the Flandre's position. If you try and look at how they are shot you should be able to determine how they work.

I actually end up killing the clones before Flandre when I clear the card, mainly because I used ReimuA and she tends to lock on to the clones as they fly around.

UFO extra.
1) The faeries which fill the screen with 3 different flavours of crap.
2) Kogasa. Shou is a good candidate at becoming this game's Orin, but Kogasa comes back to annoy you AGAIN.
First spellcard - lol hitboxes.
Second - Kanako has card like this on Hard/Lunatic, and it's actually fun there.....but not here. The bullets speed up and completely screw me over.
Third - MY EYES
Not to mention when you bomb, the lasers won't stop and by the time you see anything with SanaeB's bomb, you probably already have an active laser planted right on you.

Nue.....her nonspells are Mokou fast, her spells are kind of easy to capture though.....then suddenly, Danmaku Chimera.

PCB Stage 4
Heh, I remember losing 3 lives there on Normal once.....

And UFO. FFFFFFFFFFF.
I get a good run, started Nue with 5 lives.
Guess what, I lose them ALL at the red ufo card.

Bad run, not a single red saucer, entered Nue with 1 life, perfect run until Danmaku Chimera which used me as toilet paper.

IS THERE ANY LOGIC IN THAT

FFFFFFFFFFFF
Most of Mokou's nonspells are slowish though...

Danmaku Chimera is a matter of not getting clipdeathed as you make slight vertical movements and back-and-forth horizontal movements.  It's difficult to pick up on, but once you get it you won't miss it.

I hope her seventh card is the same way.  It's still horrible in every sense of the word.

The problem is that I always clip away whatever the amount of lives is not even 1/2 in.

Oh well, atleast that her boss theme is win. Best one in Extra so far IMO.

And her 7th one.....isn't that the black cloud with danmaku coming out?
The rainbow UFO's also make me worried. And the survival.

I wouldn't say it's the best boss theme, but it's definitely the darkest sounding one, which is rather fitting for an extra stage.

It would be more correct to say that the seventh one has danmaku with the black cloud covering it.
Rainbow UFOs is clipgarbagetastic.
The survival card is tame enough as long as you understand how the bullets move.

Stage 5 of UFO... Somehow managed to get there before my first continue, got finished off by Nazrin's card =/ Decided to go ahead and continue, see if I could make it through... That stage is a FREAKING NIGHTMARE!!!! I bombspammed most of my way through it trying again, two more times. BOTH TIMES, I managed to reach Shou's third card with one life left... Both times, I got destroyed... Shou still isn't as tough as Youmu from PCB though...

EDIT: Decide to start over. Apparently Shou's laser is a skill drain attack, I can't even play Stage 1 worth anything anymore T_T Gaah...
