> Let's go make us some tea. While we're waiting for the water to boil, let's investigate the pantries so we know how much food we still have that's edible.
> You get out of the futon and go back into the kitchen. After filling up a pot of water and setting it on the stove, you take stock of the food you have. You have a head of lettuce, a bundle of carrots, two tomatoes, a jar of preserved apricots, half a bag of sugar, half a bag of flour, some salt and pepper, maybe half a pound of beef and pork each, a third of a bag of rice, a bottle of wine you're certain belongs to Suika (as you have no memory of purchasing it), a small bit of tofu, a loaf of wheat bread, some apple butter, half a stick of plain butter, a carton of eggs, and a box of biscuits. You also have jars of different kinds of tea, which you shouldn't run out of any time soon.
> As you're taking stock, the pot on the stove shrills.
