Cookie Clicker: We're getting distracted by Madoka Clicker now

"You feel like baking cookies. But nobody wants to eat your cookies."
Disclaimer:The linked video is made from Cookie Clicker Classic, which is drastically different from the current version of the game

An Actual Link to Cookie Clicker (You can find a link to Cookie Clicker Classic in the upper right if you're curious)

What is Cookie Clicker?
Cookie Clicker is a game where you click a big cookie in order to bake cookies; and then you use your cookies to buy things to help make EVEN MORE COOKIES, from cursors to click the cookie for you to a nice grandma to bake more cookies, to things like a space shipment of cookies from the cookie planet. Originally the dev made it in a really small amount of time as a joke, but it became surprisingly popular (His response being "what is wrong with you people") so he started to fix it up and start work on the new, modern version of Cookie Clicker that we have now. (Which is still being updated, as well!)

Quote from: Anon on the dev's tumblr
I played that goddamn game so much that i mumbled about selling grandma into slavery. My mum heard it and i'm not allowed to be in the same room as grandma alone.

In addition to clicking cookies and buying things to make more for you, the new version of Cookie Clicker also has upgrades to buy for your buildings, unlockable achievements which grant you Milk (which eventually will also aid in your endeavor for more cookies), and many newsflashes of current events as you develop your cookie manufacturing empire. Future updates will include things like Dungeons, which are supposed to completely change how the game is played after unlocking them, more upgrades, and even more buildings; along with some other significant but less cookie related occurrences, ontop of the unmentioned ones already present in the current version.

I... I haven't been able to turn my computer off in over a week, rather then leaving it on 24/7 for Cookie Clicker to run and produce more cookies for me.  :ohdear: ...grandma, what are you doing YOU PUT THAT DOWN OR I'LL SEND YOU BACK TO THE RETIREMENT HOME, HEY

Yep! It still becomes absolutely terrible after awhile anyway (I'm at 600m+ CpS) but it keeps being useful a helluva lot longer then it did before, which is cool.

Golden cookies are pretty much your entire source of cookies at endgame points, by the way. You save up enough cookies to hit the cap on the "Instantly gain 10% of your bank in cookies" and they become incredibly powerful. Cap is as much cookies as you make in 30 minutes passively, by the way.

It's the cookies.

You're not looking and suddenly they're too much and flood your entire region.

Up to 559 million cookies per second. It's not enough. I need MORE. I'm hoping I can get all the current upgrades/achievements before more are inevitably added, so I can escape...

Is there any point on buying things other than portals

their cookies per second are so high that they trump everything else and why am i debating the most viable strategy for producing cookies on a cookie clicking game what has my life become

Must... get... 200 clickers... and 100 time machines...
Would have those already but I decided to reset for no reason.
Then True Neverclick comes out after I decide to get the clicking achievements after getting 50 time machines.
Gotta love life, eh.
COOKIES.

Speaking of Achievements, does anyone have any peculiar ones? I have one for dunking the cookie, even though my delicious Chocolate Milk is nowhere close to said cookie.

No, fuck this game in its ear. At peak rate I had 100 of everything save Portals and Time Machines at 38m cps. Then I realized three days had passed.

Don't say you weren't warned.

I played for an hour and getting to a million was ok (I can see the draw for speedrunning tbh), but I really don't understand the draw for getting cookies with literally no goal but to get more cookies, besides its simplistic funny charm and the novelty factor. Honestly at the risk of alienation I would say some social media MMOs are a more useful way to spend silly amounts of time.
So I cheated and now have 6 quintillion cookies.

psssst

sell a grandma

(Also the trick to dunking the cookie isn't to get your milk up to the cookie, it's to bring the cookie down to the milk)

Well, after awhile you can mostly just idle and let cookies build up and poke some stuff once every now and then, so it's not very demanding on your actual time. (Although then golden cookies are pretty strong later, but...)
Howeverrrr, dungeons are probably going to do a lot to make it more like an actual game, instead of just cookie collection. Honestly though I have no idea how they're going to work.

Dungeons will be filled with monsters by which you will throw cookies at and make them addicted to your delicious baked goods and you will bring them back and make them your cookie slave. forever

red cookies are alternatively called "wrath cookies"

There's a 50%+ chance to get a negative effect: Clot halves your cookie production and Ruin is the opposite of Lucky - you lose cookies instead of gain them. However red cookies allow you get Elder frenzy, a far better version of the golden cookie's frenzy (x666 production for 6 seconds)

I have two files on this game. I've practically burnt out on the legit file (over 200M CpS, refusing to let the grandmas begin their wrath), so I'm now messing about on my cheated file (101 quintillion cookies). Did you know there are debug upgrades still in the game, not to mention the achievement for hacking in cookies...

Also, I just got a cookie chain! It's pretty crap though (starts with +6, maxes out at +6,666,666,666, or about 1.1 seconds of production with frenzy on my cheated file).

In case you're wondering about wrath cookies, it's about 85% bad stuff, 7.5% elder frenzy and 7.5% chain cookie. Definitely not value for clicking.

New update! Holy crap these upgrades are expensive. Getting that 100 time machine achievement (I'm at 91) is getting put off for awhile. As in, like, forever, at this rate >_>

I like how in a few days they're upgrading servers, again. Dem growing pains of popularity
