Anyway, hunting has a pretty lousy payout, right? Doesn't seem worth it, and half the clan seems uninterested. Pass. 4.
Yeaaah, unless this is going to make hunting go from irrelevant to relevant, skip it. I'm not sure about what 1 or 2 could entail, I'd rather not screw them over, and magic comes in really handy all the time. Since we've got food out the ears right now, 4. That magic could save our butts if/when the Enhyli come to visit.

Oh hey oops this is customizable. 3's pretty standard for the ones that don't let you pick, though, as someone else mentioned in passing, so that's how much I give.

We've had this general favor cash-in before so tl;dr guy (from the Antorlings) wants to know one of the stories we start with and we can't even quest anyway.

Ring all just want to tell him (or tell him a different one) because it's basically free for us, except Desrada who seems to think we don't actually know it, and:

Your explorers return to report an encounter with very strange foreigners. The foreigners wore odd clothes and spoke in a peculiar way. They were warriors, and showed no fear when they met our explorers. They identified themselves as the Black Horse Troop, and said they served a hero named Sir Ethilrist. The strangest thing about them, though was their horses. Examined up close, these weren't horses at all, but grotesque and monstrous beasts --- possibly things of chaos!

1. Invite them to your tula.
2. Leave well enough alone.
3. Make war on them.
4. Warn other clans about them.


(We could also offer to trade treasures if we actually had any to trade. :V)

We owe these foreigners nothing. (2)
Although we could stand to improve our relations with our neighbors, they may be skeptical of our warnings. (2)
If they are powerful foreigners, they may have treasures the like of which we have never seen! (Would probably be suggesting trade if we actually could.)
We'd be mad to attack this group --- and reckless to attack them in Earth season, when we would be better off reaping. (2)
Foreigners will know new jokes. I am tired of the old jokes. Especially the one about eurmal and the sheep. (1)
Save our strength for fighting zombies. (2)
I'll go along with the ring's decision.

"The nature of our quest is so terrible that we dare not describe it. We need warriors, silver, cows or a gift of magical power. How can you help us?" (emphasis mine!!!)

The weaponthanes yearn to accompany great wind lords on a dangeous mission. (1) (SHIT DESRADA HAS AN OPINION FINALLY)

I don't think we actually get to pick how many with option 1, since it's our game abstractions volunteering - I think, but am unsure, that the number that do is likely to be less than that, not more, so we wouldn't be losing too many (plus hey, the more than leave the more we can recruit and when they get back have more than we should :V).

Yep, I figured sending a little under half our thanes would be ok if it's a long term mission. But if it's abstracted, ah well.

Considering these guys know their stuff and helped us out without asking a favor first, they deserve something. Sending weaponthanes might net a few more answers than just sending them on their way with some swag. Something great looks like it'll come of this and I want to know what. 1

We're still true bros with the Blue Spruce clan, yeah? If so, I don't think the gesture will prove beneficial to our relationship with them. However, 50 cows could prove beneficial to our relationships with any number of other clans, so that route seems viable.

The thing is, though, that alliances cover up whatever their actual feelings for you are - it's entirely possible to have allies that are starting to get kinda pissed at you. I don't see any particular reason that the Blue Spruce would dislike us, but since the vote is also a tie, I'm going to play it safe and tiebreak with 3.

Your explorers* found an encampment of the cruel nomads you call the Horse-Spawn, and come back to tell you the rest of the clan about it. They report seeing a magnificent horse, one that seemed so big and powerful that it must be magic. The warrior Oranda is excited by their words, and says that you should organize a war party to capture the magical steed.

*for reference, this is Heorl's party to the southwest, not the dudes we just sent out

1. Convince the people that sending a party would be unwise.
2. Recruit warriors from other clans to join the party.
3. Reject Oranda's suggestion.
4. Seek the blessings of the gods before sending a party.
5. Send a party to capture the steed.

There is no point in seeking outside warriors; none of our neighbors wish to see us prosper.
This should be theft by stealth, not a full-scale raid. We should send neither too many nor too few warriors --- seven of them, say. The leader must be a good hunter, as well as a good fighter. (5)
We should pay outside warriors two cows each. (2)
The leader of this party must be good with animals; it is no good to capture a horse that wants to stay put. (5)
The Horse-Spawn claim to be descended from centaurs, and kin to horses.
The powerful magic of the Horse-Spawn make them one of our most dangerous foes. (3)
Having a Horse-Spawn steed would allow us to maneuver better on the battlefield. (5)
