Ditto. That does mean we need to decide who our queen is right now though. We had two for Ferena and two for Desrada at the start of the year, so we need more votes.

As for the other ring replacement, Intagarn and Estavros seem like the two better choices.

Postingthanes, I present to you your new clan ring. The new members immediately get the opportunity to provide their input!


Jarang, a great Uroxi warrior from the Chaos-hating Undaroli clan, comes to share a blood-curdling tale. One of that clan's ring members was just found decapitated in the forested part of the Undaroli tula. Jarang is certain that the killer is a member of the chaotic cult of Thanatar, known for stealing heads and putting them to grim magical use. Jarang's clan-mates conducted a divination, and concluded that the Thanatar cultist is a member of your clan! Jarang wants to question your clan members in order to identify the culprit.

1. Conduct your own divination.
2. Have the clan ring conduct the questioning.
3. Let Jarang interrogate people.
4. Refuse him.


He has already decided someone is guilty. Do not trust him. (4)
Together, the Uroxi warriors of Dragon Pass could destroy our entire clan. (3)
I have heard it said that the Uroxi already regard us as unwitting accomplices of Chaos. (3)
If their divination says one of us is a cultist of Thanatar, it must be so. (3)
Urox is the foe of Chaos. When he fights for us, he is the Cleansing Wind. When he bullies us, he is the Bad Wind.
Jarang's clan is already hostile to us. We do not want to risk a feud. (3)
I have nothing to add. (Really, I think even tricksters aren't inclined to fuck with Chaos.)

Althoguh considering our low magic, I'd still vote for 3. It's not like we can lose anyone/anything important from this, right?

... oh damnit I forgot to pick "Mysteries" instead of "Curing". Well, we healed some sniffles.


Well that was boring exploration. They don't always give events though, no. But this was really boring. =P


I didn't fuck up this time. There's already more sniffles than we just cured too. :V (Man and I still have another quest to splice too. God I'm lazy.)


Loricon finds a bunch of small trolls rooting about in the grain bins of his stead. They've eaten some of the grain, and have ruined more of it. You're familiar with these creatures from the old country - they're trollkin, the stunted and sometimes simple-minded offspring that most trolls are cursed with.

1. Drive them off.
2. Kill them.
3. Sacrifice them to a god.
(Which god?)
4. Take them as thralls.
5. Trade them to another clan.
(I assume we also get a choice of who here)

They're only trollkin. The spirits of our ancestors don't care what we do with them. (i.e. we can totally enslave them if we do want to - Iskalli's got no opinion though. :V)
Just kill them. (2)
We should trade them to another clan. (5)
If we take them as thralls, they'll worry the sheep. (And yet she favors not-5 rather than not-4)
They might be able to perform simple but unpleasant chores. (4)
We do not wish to offend the trolls by mistreating their children (1)

Derik, a young boy of your clan, is the only member of his family to return from a visit to his mother's kinfolk among the Blue Spruces. On their return, they were attacked by Sable Riders, nomads from the eastern desert of Prax. They mercilessly slew everyone, and would have killed Derik if he hadn't played dead. Derik swears that, when he grows up, he will avenge himself on the evil nomads of Prax.

1. Comfort Derik.
2. Compose a poem in honor of the slain.
3. Conduct a divination.
4. Sacrifice to the gods for protection from the Praxians.
5. Send a war party to kill Sable Riders.


Revenge. (1)
The Praxians, led by death's champion, Jaldon Goldentooth, helped start the Dragonkill War. Jaldon brought 100,000 warriors from Prax to destroy the dragonewt nesting places.
It is a good time to sacrifice, or conduct a divination. (3, 4)
We are too poor to sacrifice. (1)
Our sacrifices would be better if our temples were stronger. (Hey, hey, no, obsessing over our temples all the time is usually the Chalana Arroyan's job)
The people are disheartened. We must do something to cheer them up. (2, 5)
We must comfort Derik by buring him in a moound of earth for sixteen days. (1)

The renowned prophet, Einarth Milk-Eyes, wanders onto the tula and into the clan hall. "I see before me a tribe, a tribe with a journey to make. The path will be cleared by homage to Orlanth, treading the steps he has taken before. The tribe will travel not alone, but in the company of six other gods. Before the path reaches its end, the wayfarers must visit the god-plane for each of the deities that go with them. I cannot make out what is at the destination, but it is something new. Ah, I see glory, if these clan halls contain sufficient resolve and courage."

1. Honor Einarth with gifts.
2. Throw a feast to celebrate.
3. Thank Einarth for bringing us his prophecy.
4. Embark on the "Elmal Guards the Stead" heroquest right away.
(We were probably gonna run Desrada through Making of the Storm Tribe this Storm already but if y'all wanna take this one it's basically a free go, and I think we do have a couple old Elmali other than Iskalli we can risk pretty painlessly.)
5. Ask him for more details of his visions.

tl;dr once we have the king/queenship of the tribe we need to clear 7 (unique) heroquests including our chief deity's (Elmal for us). ... officially. I think in my personal experience I have had it count quests done between this event and actually obtaining the tribal throne but I'm not 100% sure. It'd make sense given option 4. Ones we've done before all the tribe-ness don't count though.


Also, I guess "being really obsessed with temples" isn't a Chalana Arroy worshipper trait, just one of the normal personality traits in the pool and just seems to crop up on Arroyans really often.

We buffed our heroquest stat during sacred time for this very reason. 4 is most important, but 1 and 5 if we can do so.

The game wanted to send Iskalli on the quest but naw I don't wanna risk him, this is what I'd argue for the second-most lethal heroquest in the game. Heorl's got the patron god bonus too and doesn't lag too far behind in Combat either. (thoooooooough he's still only Very Good) Also it listed Desrada? That's really weird I could have sworn Elmal Guards the Stead was men only.

Also now that we're in our tribe we don't have to pick who to call for heroquest help, it's our tribe. Always.


The people have gathered their magic to help propel Heorl into the realm of the gods, with the assistance of 78 worshippers from our tribe.

When this myth begins, Orlanth is about to embark on a great quest to repair a world shattered by Chaos. He leaves his loyal thane, Elmal, to defend the stead of the Storm Tribe.

What benefit do you seek from this heroquest?

1. Magically strengthen your fortifications.
2. Gain Elmal's aid when you are attacked.
3. Gain fine horses.
4. Discourage intruders from entering your lands.
5. Strengthen the quester.
6. Strengthen clan leaders.
