I think if we could make peace with the Zethnorings and get them into our tribe, that would be good. Is there a way we can do that manually, or is it the result of a lucky event? I know there's some event that gives you the option to tribe a feuding clan.

It'll likely take multiple delegations showering them with gifts and thus even starting immediately probably won't be able to get finished in time.

Also sorry I haven't been updating, I got way sick and then there was only one vote on the event and then I was really tired. :V

10 cows to Uralda later...

I'll start trying to make some peace with the Zethnorings anyway. It might at least be a touch easier since we haven't been punching them nearly as much?

The Kardavi clan, known for its rich crop yields, entertains your proposal for a new tribe. They want each clan of the new tribe to give them fertility magic every year. They want a treasure. The Kardavi also want an agreement that no clan of the tribe will trade for grain with outside clans as long as the Kardavi have surplus grain to trade.

1. Abandon negotiations.
2. Agree to give them fertility magic.*
3. Agree to trade restrictions.
4. Demand favorable trade terms for other clans in tribe seeking Kardavi grain.**
5. Give gifts.

*a token amount; some, but not a lot; or all each clan can spare
**22, 24, 26, or 28 bushels per 10 cows (normal is 20)

We could also give them a treasure if we had one. :V

Since we can't offer them a treasure, we will have to be extremely generous.
Give them what they want.
Ask them to trade 26 bushels of grain for 10 cows.
They ask for many things. See to it that they give us plenty of grain for our cows, from now on.
The ancestors of the Kardavi were present when Barntar first learned the secret of harnessing oxen to plow.
We must be cautious with our clan fertility. Give them some, but not much.
Ask them to trade 22 bushels of grain for 10 cows.

We need to be more accommodating than that, there are three clans left and we need two of them.

Screw these guys for forcing us into a racket though :|

5 first.
2. Some magic. (we usually have a decent amount of spare magic these days)
3. Agree. We have a lot of food now though, so hopefully this won't come up.

Don't make any demands.

And man, every single attempt we've made to get a treasure has ended in failure, hasn't it? We don't have a single one?

Is there a heroquest that would allow us to improve our reputation with a clan we're feuding with? Maybe it won't matter if we improve relations.

Also, I really wonder if we'll go hungry again with the crop blessing and these guys in tow. Screw they Colymar and their 12 cows or whatever. Anyway, 5, 2, and 3 as well, but see if we can touch upon 4 at 22 bushels if we have to agree to the trade restrictions.

No we just haven't tried.

I think it's mostly that they haven't shown up much. I think the one we had was a particularly virile bull. Has cattle population ever been a problem? It may never have made much of a difference. Other than that, the ones that have popped up were either out of reach or we just threw resources at them and never actually acquired them (like the war horse). If we were to go after one, it would probably either be for one that's really valuable and provides a distinct long-lasting benefit or for one that's easy to attain but can be used as a great bargaining chip.

Issaries's and Chalana Arroy's, neither of which we've learned yet. (I do wanna learn 'em all eventually, the RNG's just been handing us other shit instead. Which is fine because blessings are also sweet.

We could also, like, go to other clans and be like "hey wanna sell us treasure?" but y'all never want to at Sacred Time sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
And there's a couple heroquests that treasures are a reward option but we still don't have either of the really good options there.

First off, 30 goods, they accepted but nothing about reciprocal gifts, it probably doesn't merit a screenshot.

And clan 2 (well 3 counting ourselves)!

I think it's time to give 4 a shot. While we're feuding with them, it's not a huge one like the one with the Elkenvali is.

They are one slight shade of red less angry at us than the Elkenvali, I think we should leave them for last.

None of the remaining clans seem to have noteworthy assets... ah well. Let's try 3.

Apparently there are dozens of treasures, but I had to look them up to find that out. Pounce on something if it's useful, maybe?

As for this time, let's keep going down the priority list. 3.

Naw dude y'all are gonna have to be like "go try to buy a treasure this year" maybe with a suggestion of who to try and then when our trade mission gets there, then we find out what they've got (and decide if we actually want it). Or not, maybe you guys don't want treasures and that's okay too! You guys are in the driver's seat here. THREAD RING.

Also the Zethnorings are the exact same shade of red as the Elkenvali, they are feuding with us, feuds are red. :V

So yeah we set up a meeting with the Rakstanti.

I'm not sure anything besides wealth ever even works here and Heorl says we should dump like 50 cows' worth of wealth in their face so in the interests of expediency I do that. Especially since most of our tribemaking gifts have been reciprocated. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut...

They just still really hate us. :V

1. WHAT-E-VURRR. We might've screwed things up before but you guys have continued to screw the pooch ever since.
2. Don't MAKE us make you surrender. We've made the Elkenvali surrender like 4 times now.
3. The horse thing could still be coming from anywhere. Time for sacrifice. 5

Can we maybe let the Zethnorings attack us until they lose so many guys that they surrender, then offer reconciliation? Or is this a lost cause now?

I'm genuinely not sure whether it's a lost cause or a "keep showering them with gifts until they relent" but I think the latter probably takes more time than we've really got anyway.

Also oops I didn't realize it's Earth season (it's hard to keep track of time with so much happening!), we are not beating anyone up right now. We can totally go punch the Zethnorings some when it's not harvest time (or the middle of winter, so a biiiiiiiiit longer) though!

10 cows to Elmal instead.

You have offered the ring of the Rakstanti a place in the new tribe you are building. The Rakstanti are known for their love of pottery, a craft they pursue with an attitude that borders on fanatacism. Your emissaries report that, to join the tribe, they want each clan to buy 20 cows worth of pottery per year from them. They want a guaranteed seat on the tribal ring in perpetuity, and a pledge that no other clan in the tribe can use any other container when a Rakstanti pot could instead by used.

1.  Abandon negotiations.
2.  Accept the "20 cows worth of pots per year" requirement.
3.  Accept the "no other containers" requirement.
4.  Suggest a smaller number of pots per year.*
5.  Accept the tribal council requirements.
6.  Give gifts.

It sounds from what I'm seeing that this is a slider, but most of the other negotiation choices have been specific amounts. Just gimme a ballpark and I'll see how close I can hit.

Also nobody really has any advice that sounds even vaguely useful. I'd've expected some sort of "I think I can get them this low on #4" from Sartark at least.

Fucking potheads.

In order:
- 6. 30 goods
- 5. I think we're limited to offering just one though?
- 4. 10 cows
- 3. Although this sounds like it would be a huge pain in the ass IRL, I want to guess it would have no gameplay repercussions. But this game...

Gifts made them happy, no reciprocal gifts given though.

No chance to even specify how many, either, though we do still have the option to accept at 20 cows' worth a year.

... but both that and this don't make other tribemates too happy and this one makes this clan much happier.

Okay let's (try to) bring home the bacon!

Let's go try to find anything that might be left here. Or at least keep the bandits down. (We found nothing.)

Strange and primitive warriors get past your patrols to take two cows from you. The wolfskin-clad raiders are so bold that they butcher the cows on the spot, rather than driving them away. The carls are sure this will happen again.

1. Find their camp and talk peace with them.
2. Find their camp and launch a punitive strike against them.
3. Have hunters hunt and trap wolves.
4. Tell other clans that you want many wolf skins.
5. Track down and kill these particular raiders.

We have enough strange enemies right now. (1)
These wolf-folk are easy for us to best. However, they're difficult to bring to a fight. (2, 3, 4)
I have heard rumors of these people, the Telmori. By day they are human, by night they are wolves. (1, 2, 5)
If they turn into wolves, they can be hunted like wolves. (2, 3)
When Orlanthi last lived in Dragon Pass, they met these beastmen. They are called Telmori, and they turn into wolves once a week.
These primitives are no match for us in a fight. (2)
The only way to deal with half-humans is to make them fear us. (2, 5)
