Soon, a Taraling delegation arrives, demanding wergild for the deaths of their two weaponthanes. They ask for forty cows*, the customary amount for two slain thanes.
(*note from me: pretty sure we pay this in goods despite the shortened phrasing.)
1. Agree to their demand.
2. Refuse their request.
3. Offer them twenty cows instead. Remind them that Brandig never received wergild for his father's death.
They have more of a case against us than we did against them. (1)

The Taralings dislike us even more now; failure to pay wergild will bring us closer to a feud. (1)

In the sagas, full-fledged feuds between clans can continue many years.

Maybe I can talk them into settling for less. (3)

They have a case against us, but we also had a case against them.

We can afford the werfild, if we want to pay it. (1, 3)

They have no real case against us. (2)
Oh hey it's a very rare sub-choice with its own advice! Sorry for such a short update after a day skipped, I genuinely wasn't expecting Brandig to not be a fuck-up (and forgot that we're in the last event before Sacred Time anyway, though I forget if being raided would happen after or before this event if it's gonna happen. I think after).
