Civil unions for... well, for straight ladies, oops.

It's OK we're recruiting more people, some of them are probably single dudes.

Iskalli, we can diplo when we have people to not get facerolled.

One of your weaponthanes, Brandig, appears before the clan and recounts an incident that occured back in the Holy Country, before the migration to Dragon Pass. "When I was just a child, my father Korlmar, a weaponthane of this clan, was seized by Yorsar and Frithorf, then of the Zethnos clan. They threw him upon a bonfire, and would not let him off it, until he had burned to the bones. Long have I given up hope of vengeance against these two killers. But now I hear they are here in Dragon Pass; they have been adopted by the Taralings. Although they are now old, they must pay for what they have done while they were young."
1. Allow Brandig to pursue private vengeance against them.
2. Demand wergild for the slaying of Brandig's father.
3. Launch a raid against the Taralings. (IT'S SEA SEASON)
4. Tell Brandig that it is not the right time for vengeance.
5. Tell the Taralings to outlaw the men.
We have no case against the Taralings; the killings took place when the men belonged to a far-distant clan. If Brandig kills them, they will have a case against us. (4)

If we raid the Taralings, Brandig can avenge his father on the battlefield. (3)

If they pay us wergild, we can add a silver inlay to the altar of our temples. (2)

Brandig will keep asking until we satisfy him - or he may take matters into his own hands, no matter what we say. (3)

Tell Brandig not to raise this matter during planting time! Or tell him to take care of it himself. (1, 4)

Living cows are more useful than dead enemies. (2)

In the sagas, personal grudges often turn into full-fledged feuds between clans.
