my figures of 140k PiV and 270m are quite low, as a matter of fact. 160k PiV is probably possible if you are confident you don't need the bombs against kagerou. 290-300m may be possible for players who don't use their bombs for survival purposes at all. my next goal is 250m for now. or I'd like to get it, but I'll probably let it be for now.

As for myself, I have spent an hours time messing around with DDC today trying to beat Shimatora's SakuyaA Normal but he still has me beat by 2m.
Maybe I'll beat it, maybe i won't. Anyway, posting to say that I got a NM1B Kagerou Lunatic fight. Bomb on the second non for safety. Accidentally broke the border too (for points hurr) so it counts as a used bomb i guess.

Can't wait for the full game so I can go get dirty in the mud with wolfie all day every day. Stage 3 is fun playing as SakuyaA.

I got 304,323,170 points of score in the DDC demo today, becoming the first person to reach the 300m benchmark to my knowledge. Granted, it's not very difficult to execute a route achieving this kind of score with MarisaB, but I'm still very happy since I developed the route and more importantly discovered most of the grazing and scoring tricks used on my own. Special thanks to chum and kopiapoa for additional techniques and #kusoplay for support.

Perfect PCB Lunatic Stage 5. This... Came up accidentally during practice. My whole body just perked up once I realized that I cleared Hell God Sword and everything else fell into place. This run also features me doing Youmu's boss opener because I forgot to misdirect it haha.
Youmu actually isn't as bad as I thought she was. Probably just trauma from when I was just starting. Those slowdown shenanigans are still annoying.

I must say that I'm tempted to manipulate my cherry so that I get a border during HGS to cover up any mistakes during a LNB. I don't have a good strategy for it other than "pray that it's not a wall".

Well, just 1cced SA Normal with MarisaA. First time doing a run past stage 3 as that shot type. Fighting Utsuho with ~2.0 power the entire time until Artificial Sun is HARD.

PCB Lunatic No Bomb No Manual Border Break. Cleared with no lives remaining, picking up my last extend on 80% Reflowering and then promptly losing it. I think I have a thing with crap runs and clears, because I lost 2 lives on stage 3 and 4 on stage 4, and somehow got to Yuyuko with 2 lives left. Then somehow I perfected Yuyuko up to her final card, and lucked out on Reflowering big time. I don't know how that happened, but I'll take it. Can't believe I got this so fast either. I still don't feel like I'm particularly comfortable with this game despite getting the clear. Oh well.

I think I'll do TD next with trance. Should be interesting.

No one's mentioned me yet, and I've been holding the overall Easy and Normal records off and on (though I'm not sure if I'll be able to retake the Easy record anymore, SJF's 206m seems pretty optimized, reaching over 90,000 PIV). I'm surprised I've lasted this long, actually. I thought I'd have been forced out of the top 3 by now.

I feel so proud of myself. I just 1cc'd UFO, Reimu A, Normal.

It took me months of off-and-on to finally get it right. And to top it all off, I captured all but 1 of Byakuren's cards. Because no one likes curved lasers. Even though I should have died a couple times on Flying Fantastica.

But I don't care! I'm one step closer to unlocking all Extra stages! The only two left are Great Fairy Wars and Ten Desires, and TD should be really fast (provided I can get another good day like today).

Yes, it's a nice feeling to have some actual competition. It seems there's almost no one close to my skill level at scoring in the other games (everyone at MotK is either noticeably more skilled or less, it seems)...

I'm sure there are people watching my replays too. It's very helpful to watch others (particularly people who are slightly better, I think). That's one thing I like about Touhou scoring - copying strategies is an ordinary part of it. I probably wouldn't have thought of bombing Sekibanki's 2nd spell on my own, especially timing the bomb to stop the lasers for extra graze.

Well, anyway, accomplishment: reached over 90,000 PIV in DDC Easy. 92,440 to be precise. I'm now pretty confident that 100,000 Easy is reachable in the trial version. The question is whether it's reachable in a scoring route, i.e. without any deaths to Kagerou.

Beat Ten Desires today...not as hard as UFO. By a longshot. I even got up to Mamizou's sixth spell card on my first try before game-overing.

And yet I still can't get past Koishi's first spell...

So I got bored and gave this a try. I actually cleared despite how awful I played.

The lasers are static, so you can dodge them the same way every time. The bottom center is safe for most of the waves. For the last wave, there are various strategies. I like to use the "y" in "Enemy" as a reference (see video), though it's not the only method.

As for the large round bullets, they're aimed directly at you. I recommend dashing to one side, then streaming back to the center. It may be easier if you dash earlier/farther than I did there (I was grazing the bullets), though make sure to return to the center before the lasers return.

Like most Extra spells, it'll probably take some practice to learn how to capture it, but it should be one of her easiest spells once you do learn it.

I do get that. I just wish I could make it through the stage itself to get to Koishi so I could practice the spell.

It's not Koishi that's giving me problems.

It's getting through the stage to get to her with a decent amount of remaining lives that's the problem.

I'm bad at pathing, so curved lasers really suck. Apparently, the rings of oblong bullets the larger fairies shoot are also really difficult to path for me, and I wind up either getting hit in the first wave of them before Sanae, or I get caught in the spam right before Koishi. Miracle Fruit is also a challenge for me for the same reason, but I've lost more lives to those bullet rings than anything else. They are the only reason I haven't gotten that far into the Koishi battle itself.

I've seen videos, but since the bullet rings aren't static, I keep getting caught by them. It's so aggravating.
