>Does this globe of light not seem connected to a lamp of any sort, then?
>Can we guess at what sort of tails these are?
>Take a little glance in their direction, but otherwise continue onward to the lake shore ahead
>Not anything you can see from here, at any rate.
>You would guess they are the sort of tails that belong to a fox youkai, perhaps a kitsune. In fact, their blonde coloration seems rather familiar...
>Upon closer inspection, you confirm your suspicions. The tails belong to Ran Yakumo. Meaning the grey-haired Oni sitting next to her, partially concealed by her tails, is more than likely Doubles. A small object is sitting between Ran and Genjii the turtle, but you can't make out what it is from here.
>The same sense of tranquil power that you sensed from the sacred flame chamber permeates this area, as well. Even in the dark, you can sense, amidst the stillness and sereneness, that this place is a kind of sanctuary. A slice of the natural world unspoiled by roads or chainsaws or electric lights. You've never been here before, but you feel a keen sense of belonging. Somehow, it is as though the trappings of the 'civilized' world have not quite managed to penetrate this sanctuary of nature. Although, the pragmatist in your might have liked them to have hung a lamp or two. For practicalities' sake, if nothing else.
>As for whether or not this sense of power is coming from the lake, something in it, or the grove itself, your increasing proximity to the water does not clearly reveal. You do get a sense that the lake is quite sizable indeed, somehow. Perhaps even larger than the one in the Saigyouji Memorial Park.
>Rin asks you, her voice somewhat subdued, "Need a light, Byakuren?"
