>Let out a little chuckle and smile.
>"Yes, it was a tennis match."
>Recount the tale of our tennis match. Try not to fan the flames of the wild stories that have grown up around it, but there's nothing wrong with trying to be a little entertaining while we're about it. But be respectful about how we mention Rin's role in this, particularly if she seems uncomfortable.
>Take care not to make Konngara look bad; we don't want her to think we're gloating or spreading shit about her.
>Making a note to treat both Rin's and Konngara's role in the story with some care, you tell the assembled ladies of the day you challenged Konngara for legal ownership of Rin. Not all at once, as you are frequently interrupted by members of the crowd, save the albino, as they venture their own versions of the tale, which you correct as they come up. The olive-haired miko, whose name is apparently Sabrina, had thought that Konngara had also offered herself, as a way to assuage her honor after being defeated. Which simply was not the case. There was some disappointment when you clarified that it was simply a one on one match between you and her, rather than some form of gauntlet or tournament involving Konngara's gang and your own tennis club, but you do your best to make this up with the tale of the match itself.
Which all in all was far and away better than the Royal Rumble.>Although Konngara's reputation speaks for itself, you do praise her skill at the game. She doesn't have your years of practice and play at the game, but she did show a great deal of natural talent, which you complimented her on, both then and now. You consider mentioning the possibility of a rematch between you, but decide against it. Both you and Rin spend enough time thinking about that as it is, no need to bring it up here.
>When you reach the end of the match, the first comment, once the cheers subside, is from the heterochromatic youkai, when she asks Rin, "What were you thinking, when Hijiri-san won?"
>Despite looking perfectly comfortable during your telling of the tale, Rin does look slightly uneasy when suddenly thrust into the center of attention.
>Haruka clears her throat, somewhat loudly. "Perhaps that isn't the time to ask Kaenbyou-san that sort of question." she says, rather firmly. The gathered mikos mutter a chorus of agreement, the girl with the mismatched eyes, uttering an apology to Rin.
>"Why not?" Saori the albino asks pointedly. Haruka does not answer her with words, but rather with a very stern look. The other girls seem to shrink away from the proud-face albino, and even she gives ground beneath that look.
