>Accept the pen. "Thank you, you can be first."
>Which months did Rin have? Or did she share them with us?

>Accept the pen. "Thank you, you can be first."
>Which months did Rin have? Or did she share them with us?

>The young lady smiles slightly and nods. "Thank you very much, Hijiri-san."
>In her cat form, Rin was pictured with you for the February spread. Aya expressed curiousity at seeing Rin shoot with you in her human form for August, but the kasha wasn't entirely comfortable with that at the time. Aya respected her wishes.

>"Did you have something you wanted me to sign?"

>The shrine maiden shakes her head once. "I just wanted to meet you." She reaches out to her side and places her arm around the shoulders of the short miko who saw you first, gently pushing her forward. "Chiyo here is the one that wanted your autograph."
>The small brunette with the short braid nervously presents you with a small pink and white covered notebook, with a cute cat motif. "If... that's okay?" she asks in a tiny voice.

>"Of course it's okay."
>Accept the notebook
>"How would you like me to sign it for you?"

>"Oh, just... something simple, like 'Best wishes', or something. Or just your name, if you want."
>The taller miko smiles at her friend. "Chiyo isn't picky."
>The braided miko giggles in reply.

>Sign: "Best wishes - Byakuren Hijiri"
>Return the notebook to her with a smile
>"And I hope you have a pleasant evening."

>One of the shrine maidens behind the pair in front of you, a blue haired pigtailed kappa with wide eyes, whose sarashi could probably stand to be a bit tighter to satisfy modesty, emits "Oooh! Could you sign mine that?!"
>"Or put it on a pillow." another voice from the crowd chimes, drawing chuckles from a few, but one miko, a tallish woman with short brown, somewhat messy hair, looks towards the source of the voice, looking somewhat offended at the comment.
>Haruka, however, speaks before the brunette can bite off a retort, "Now ladies, try to keep things in good taste. Hijiri-san is donating her time to you all, after all."
>While Haruka plays crowd control, the kappa marches forward, extending what appears to be a sketchbook out to you.

>Open the sketch book to the fifth page
>What sort of drawings are in here, anyway? Is she any good?

>The first four pages you flip though are actually blank, save the fourth page, which has a blank ink frame drawn around the edges of the page, and a rather crude drawing of what appears to be a turtle. The sort of thing an average five-year old might produce.
>The fifth page, however, makes you pause. The picture here is one of Suika herself in what appears to be a karaoke box, enthusiastically belting out a song, while Nora and the ponytailed blonde miko you met outside sit upon the couch behind her, Nora cheering while the blonde smiles a brilliant smile. And the quality of the piece is exquisite. The detail is simply superb, from the lines on Suika's neck to the shadows falling on her horns, even the beads of condensation on the glasses sitting on the table. Apart from the fact that Nora's breasts aren't quite that large in reality, the picture is incredibly realistic and remarkably well done.

>"Oh my, this is very impressive! Did you draw this yourself?"
>Do we have any drop of artistic talent ourselves, incidentally?

>"Sure did." the kappa replies. She cranes her head forward. "Oh, guess I never signed it. Guess it isn't finished yet."
>"That IS impressive." Haruka adds, glancing at the portrait with turned head. "You must paint a lot."
>The kappa semi-shrugs. "I used to do a lot of tattoos. Portraits and realism, mostly."

>That, unfortunately, is one area into which your talent does not extend too far into. Your mother is the artist in the family, but it seems that neither you nor your brother really inherited too many of her genes from that area, though Myoren does try, now and then.

>Is there available room on the indicated page to sign something without getting in the way of the artwork?

>The page is well and truly covered. You could probably fit in a rather small note on the side of the karaoke TV stand, in the lower left portion of the picture, or in one of the upper corners, on one of the ceiling tiles.

>The kappa's head, and chest, bob up and down in an affirmative. "I'd have gone for a nicer piece, but that one was close at hand, and I wanted to get in before you got swamped."

>Stupid sexy kappa...
>She is a pretty girl, too, her large green eyes set in a pleasant face, lit by her genuine smile. And the miko clothes match her well-
>Oh, wait, you have a task to perform. Sizing up the locals can wait.

>"Yeah, I'm sure." The kappa assures you.

>"Maybe I could sign the back?"

>She considers that for a moment, as some of miko behind her whisper among themselves. Commenting on your considerate nature, you believe.
>"That works, too." the kappa says with another bouncing nod.

>Turn the page over to its back
>"And how was it you wanted me to sign it, again?"

>Flicking the page over to its back, you find the rough outline of another drawing on the page beneath. It seems to be a rather tasteful nude depiction of a woman reclining on some sort of raised seat, or perhaps a couch, you can't tell. It'll probably turn out just as good as the one you're signing, if the girl's as talented as it appears.
>"'I think it a good thing....'" The kappa pauses and frowns. "Damn, how'd the rest of that go?"
>A red eyed woman with long white hair fills in, in a somewhat aristocratic voice, " 'to be readily contented in life.' "
>The kappa snaps her fingers in recognition. "That was it! Thanks, Saori." she tosses over her shoulder.

>At some point before the calender comes up, give Rin a telepathic nudge.
>Would you like to sign the calender, too? I bet it would make her day!

>The talented kappa returns your smile, but after she stands aside to let the next fan approach you, she turns her notebook to a blank page, produces a pen, and scribbles a note.

>While she is doing this, the next pair of young women that approach you are not as 'healthy' as the bold, perky kappa, both blondes with more moderate but still flattering-sized breasts. The taller one has short hair, curled at the end and decorated with a red ribbon, while her slightly shorter friend sports a blue ribbon of matching style, and wears her long hair braided down the middle, and compliments it with a black necklace. Both of them have simple black-bound autograph books, and ask for no more than your name, which you gladly provide. They look upon you with the same slightly wide-eyed look of idol worship that you've seen people give celebrities, or their heroes. While you've come to understand, at least partly, why people make heroes for themselves of this nature, you continue to wonder what you've done to garner such fame and attention.

>With the blondes satisfied, Ayumi tears a strip of paper out of her book and hands it to Rin, as the next miko approaches you. It's the messy haired brunette you noticed before, and she carries one of the calenders of yours. Getting a better look at her face, you notice that her eyes are mismatched, her green left eye contrasting with the violet of her right. Noting the calender, you prod Rin telepathically, and the kasha jumps slightly at your voice in her head. Well, I guess? But how would dey know? I never posed in my youkai body.
