Holy shit, this is pretty much a direct parody of my hipster friend back in 2000.

He had a character named Atomic Harold, who roamed the post-apocalyptic wastes with his broken glass chaingun. He'd go into collab fanfics and write in Atomic Harold shooting stuff up and general ruining everything, and became a simultaneously beloved and hated figure there.
