We can always assign one or two people to hold onto the anon accounts. Of course, these people couldn't play in anon games for fear of cheating, but yeah.
I didn't really enjoy the anon game so I could handle that too  :V

I'm not a big fan of anon games since their purpose (to prevent personal meta) is completely lost on me. Plus, it makes old games harder to read when W is defending Reimu Hakurei from Spiderman's Vitol.

So am I allowed  back on here now? Having no access to RPG made me awfully lonely ;-;
No Lettyjournal was also annoying too :I

I kind of disagree with the Anon games getting canned since that's my favorite type, usually, and also my upcoming game was anon, but I guess we can figure out something until then, or I can just make my game "not anon"

If there's no cards any more I'll /in i HW will have me
Kilga is this right; like is this person seriously the player, and it's not some alias or something that's designed to be deliberately obfuscating? NekoNekoRex. Who the hell is that :C   ~Poya Aaaa (Serela), Bunny Must Die Mafia

In regards to the dummy accounts, I made them all, so I can reset all their passwords and stuff if needed.  Given mod permission I'd be willing to handle them.

New players we've never seen before: Link a game completed somewhere. Discretion up to the mod of the game.

So just for clarification, does this explicitly mean that complete newbies must have played a game elsewhere and link to it and then be allowed/disallowed or will some GM's allow unchecked players? (as in, are they allowed to allow said players?)
I'm not planning to join a game any time soon, need to learn a lot more first but just for reference.

And if not, I assume the newbie section of MafiaScum.net would suffice to start?

if you're here to actually learn about mafia, then adorable mafia, chelsea & the seven devils, moriya shrine revolution and gensokyo workers' union (half-dead due to forum switch) are all better reads off the top of my head

two of them use anon accounts and might be confusing though
I really meant to reply to this sooner  I'll definitely read through the Adorable game. Had a quick look at the anon games and yeah, too troublesome to follow. Will be sure to follow your game too to get an idea of a more normal game.
(posted here since I think I shouldn't have posted that in the game thread and I had some relevance here)

@Massaca: I don't think so. I think it depends on who's modding the current round. Some mods would still allow complete newbies to play (like with Chaotick last game).

The anon accounts are being disabled as part of the overall stance of preferential mod treatment longer being given to the game.  Anon accounts were an exception to a long-standing forum rule on account sharing and multiple accounts, so unfortunately they can no longer be used.

If we want anonymous games, they don't have to be hosted here. Simple as that.

I wouldn't mind NNR back. Do cards even exist now?

Correct.

I reenabled NNR's access.  Players joining games is now completely up to the host.

Or me during TD Mafia [Although I had experience on another site, you can't link the games there, and it was a totally different playstyle]

I don't even remember who put the above in my sig. [Wasn't me] Nor do I understand why I keep it here anymore.
Those two facts sum me up pretty well.

Yes the threads lock at 1000 or you can prelock at the phase change closest to 1000.

Okay, since a few people have volunteered and there isn't a consensus, I suggest we just put it up to a vote for who we want running the next thread. Comment with your pick, and I will assume the three people are voting themselves but expect Serela to waffle

Threadkeepah Noms

Dormio: Dormio
Dude with no name: IHNN, Shadoweh
Serela: Sereley

I'm votan for IHNN because he linked provable experience with busywork. Also he already went out of his way to make a vote table thingy.

So just for clarification, does this explicitly mean that complete newbies must have played a game elsewhere and link to it and then be allowed/disallowed or will some GM's allow unchecked players? (as in, are they allowed to allow said players?)

You can just play if the mod says it's okay. For example huh what is a softie so he would probably let you in. You should definitely read the newbie section of the MafiaScum wiki first, as well as those adorable games. It's important that you know what you're getting into. @_@

i'm fine with newbies signing up as long as they can not be an idiot and stay in line with the rules. on another forum i play on some dude got modkilled for quoting his role pm <48 hours into d1 and bitched about how he should've been left alive for being new even though doing so would've unnecessarily interfered with the game. so yeah, you can play, just don't be That Guy

Cool, good to know. Hopefully there will be someone cool like that running one should I choose to have a try in the future.
I've been using the MafiaScum wiki for terms and acronyms plus the basics. Have just started reading the adorable game.
And @ Huh What, I don't think I could do anything that blatant, heh ::)

One last question, since I couldn't find it anywhere on the wiki. How do scum and vig night kill orders work? Do they just choose a username and that person dies or do you need more info than that? (just can't see how much more you could have)

You just send the mod a PM saying you're targeting a certain player (or in the case of scum determine a full night action list in the QT)

Roles are pretty straightforward usually, and will explain all that you need to know in the PM anyways.  It's still cool to see all the different role that exist though,

We sometimes offer "Hydra" plays, where an experienced player shares a playerslot with you and helps you play. You can always request that although it's not always granted and we usually want to throw players in the deep and see how it goes.
