So I finally make it past Satori on one life again, only to die while streaming the wisps right before midboss-Orin.

What the fuck. I never die there. And of all times to suddenly break that trend.

-does amazing at EX Sanae capturing all her cards-
-gets to Koishi with all lives in tact-
-proceeds to fail hard during card 3 and loses two lives-
-loses a life during card 5 when I had 4 bombs ready-
-loses a life during non-spell between card 5 and 6-
-doesn't even make it 6 seconds into card 6-
That run would have been amazing if I didn't do so bad during the third card. Stupid snowball effect.

Ouch, that happening is big time, at least you don't have to go though a really long and boring stage for 1 crack at that card.

I feel your pain Cactu.

That attack is probably Shou's easiest imo (Aura of Light is probably easier but it makes me more uncomfortable) so it must really suck to fail at that. Keep going though. You got the spirit at least.

I just pulled off a completely flawless run of Nue all the way up to her timeout spell - that's way beyond my regular skill level, to be clear here, and included my first ever caps of Blue and Rainbow - then died THREE times to it, leaving me at 1 power for the final, where I gameover'd an instant before she blew up. Curses were uttered.

I blame Marisa's shiny lasers. They're amazing for cutting through UFOs, but I couldn't see right in front of me which dots were moving which way. Yeah, I know I don't need to be firing there (and I guess I shouldn't have been), but if my finger's not on the Z I get all screwed up and hit Z instead of X should I need to bomb... so I always keep it pressed anyway.

if you can manage nue to that extent, you're not far away from the clear. (which is what I assume you want) so don't let that discourage you. there isn't a trick for grudge bow and all you need is get used to the survival's movement and then you're good on both. good luck.

Well, it would have been my 2nd clear of it (though far better than the first)... what I really want is better consistency. It's been a good dozen+ tries since my first clear without coming even remotely close again, except this time. I know, it's all a matter of practice. Just frustrating to have it feel like luck when I do well - I basically don't feel any more confident at the stage than I did a week ago, despite this and the first clear. They seem more like flukes.

It's the same thing with Koishi too, I finally cleared her after a ton of tries the other week, but haven't been able to do it ever again. Whereas back when I was learning extras for 7, 8, 10, I got better at them slowly over time, and once I got them, I got them, never to game over again.

Practice, yeah, I'll get there I guess!

Another fail TD extra run. On the bright side, I got to the final spell card (which is the best I've ever done). Now to fail at it a hundred times in Spell Practice.

Oh, I'm not really interested in doing it. I just thought it was interesting, because I had never perfect cleared the stage like that before while getting so far with Nue. I've already perfected Nue, so it's not like I was broken over it or anything.

Really, I just thought it was kinda funny. Thanks for the encouragement regardless.

Got effortless timeouts of Reisen's 2nd non, Eirin's midboss non, Eirin's 1st and 4th boss non and all of Kaguya's nons. Pretty easy stuff. Got pretty thoroughly trashed by the two final bosses spellcards though.

I guess that's expected when an entire shmups difficulty is saved for the final stage. Really pissed off about my Eirin performance. It was worthless. Gah, whatever. I got some timeouts, i'm supposed to be happy. Will get revenge later. At least Eirin is a worthwhile boss.

Maybe I should try to NMNB her one day. I'm sure that would give me the illusion of having skill at these games for a brief while. That illusion feels good.

Okay, I just played SA and died to Orin THRICE, and used my bombs TWICE.
Then I made it to Okuu for the first time ever and made it to her final spell (then gameover'd :qq:).

Also off-topic question but do I hotlink gifs or save them to my computer and upload them as an attachment?

This board won't play gifs uploaded directly, in my experience. Hotlinking is bad for whoever's hosting the image though, unless they're specifically set up for image sharing. So in general, save it and upload it to an image host, like imgur.com, then link that.

MS Hard, the best run I've had so far. Somehow managed to make it through Shinki's Devil's Recitation with no bombs or lives to fall back on-- and then somehow ended up dying to a stupid white dot bullet in her easy final barrage. My rage will not subside until I defeat her.
