>Reisen considers that. "I suppose you could have a point there." She winces. "Master once had to talk the Princess out of building a bunker like that beneath Eientei."

You also once knew a vampire in Macedonia who had a bunker built beneath the bakery she owned. The two of you got off on the wrong foot, but things smoothed out after a little while. And there was talk of the Vermillion Viper of Hong Kong and his subterranean empire, and the Triad that moved into the old Viet Cong tunnels in Vietnam not long before you came to Gensokyo.

>Hitting the ground, you and your partner approach the small wooden cabin. The wood siding is a bit rough, but well made, if perhaps a bit out of place. None of the windows are currently lit, so you approach the door on the south wall of the cabin and knock politely. There comes no response.

>You take a step backwards and wait, politely, for the occupant to open the door. About a minute later, you hear motion on the other side of the door. And then, the distinct sound of whistling. The first notes of a tune, a familiar tune... 'Shave and a Haircut', was that what it's called?

>You and Reisen exercise patience and wait another little bit. After a bit less than a minute, the door lock clicks, and swings in, revealing a sleepy-eyed long-haired kappa in a black tank top and loose trousers. She glances between you and Reisen, squinting a bit. "Too big for fairies." she drones.

>She blinks. "Glasses?" She reaches up and touches her face. "Oh, yeah, glasses." she mumbles, promptly closing the door.
>Reisen stifles a laugh. "I think we woke her up."

But she can get back to her sleep once we've gotten information from her, as she's a local. She may have something to point us in the right way, such as having seen a sparkling trail in the sky, which would have been sloth."

>"Well, no, not personally." the kappa replies, and you hear an odd metallic clunk from inside the cabin. "But Kappa and Vampires haven't historically got on well. And what's a rabbit doing with a vampire, anyway?" This kappa doesn't seem quite as personable as other kappa you've met. Maybe she woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
>"Helping her find someone she cares about, who we think may be held prisoner by another vampire."
>"Since when do rabbits get involved in vampire conflicts?"
>Reisen takes a few moments before answering that one. She eventually settles on "I said I'd help."
