> "Now no more melting acid hail, alright?" Kogasa asks. You take the moment of peace to get a good look at her. She looks pretty badly burned, you ask her if she's alright. "Why wouldn't I be?" she asks, taking out a small pocket mirror. She removes her mask for a second to get a better look, and starts freaking out. "Ewewewew why didn't you tell me?" she asks, checking her blisters. "Well, you kind of did... but, well, I had no idea it was this bad. I mean sure, a little tingly, but, you know..." Kogasa is pretty distraught about the issue.

> As if awaked by Kogasa, a sharp chill blows towards you from deep within the cave, throwing pellets of hail and sleet in your direction. The wind is blowing the smog outside, but it is far harsher than the weather behind you.

>Hail and sleet are easy to deal with. Bring up a wall of fire to block it.

> Might want to put Kogasa down before this.

> You haven't done this already? Well, she is kind of heavy. You decide to put her down.

> "You don't have anything for blisters, do you?" Kogasa asks, taking some water from her supplies before flipping through her pokedex. You think she looks a lot worse than she feels.

>Or just form the wall far enough in front of us that she's not burned.

> You decide burning your teammates is not effective in regards to teambuilding. You fry the hail and sleet into a mishmash of water and steam, aiming the flames outside of Kogasa's scorchable distance.

> A slight issue you have with this strategy is that the winds are blowing your own flames right back at you. In addition to being annoying, if does make not burning Kogasa a bit tricky.

> With a blizzard coming in from within Coronet, only stopping to let that smog seep in from outside, you determine that this is not an ideal place to rest. You figure the main issue is whether you want to go deeper, or if you want to try risking the acid hail again. While you aren't sure you want to let Kogasa out considering her side effects, you note that the storm coming from within the cave is an outright blizzard; without your flames the temperature would be negative, and the wind could easily knock a man over.

A Fujiwara touhoumon should be able to carry a Fujiwara pokemon, right?

> You notice that you certainly are facing a lot of setbacks. You suppose this is to be expected when you head to the heart of where all the action is. However, you suppose that a setback is just proof that there's a boss fight or a spectacle just around the corner, and that the fact that where you are right now is so crummy means that no matter which direction you go, there's something waiting for you.

> On that note, you believe the horrible weather outside is probably being caused by team Galactic, but the horrible weather inside is another story, serving a different purpose than to poison everything. Though all things considered, you are not opposed to skipping ahead and digging your way up the mountain, time isn't an issue for you at all and you are really curious what these lunatics are hiding.

> "We should keep moving," Kogasa says, inspecting the frozen bats as your firewall at least keeps the place warm. "If nothing else, have Fujiyama dig us out an alcove. We need something more protected if we're going to rest here."

> "Can you get your Golbat to lead us through here?"

> Kogasa's new Golbat is kind of hiding behind her.

> "Um... maybe?" she says. "Golbat, lead the way!"

> Rather than take point, Kogasa's bat seems happy to rest on her shoulders and point it's wing forward. You follow it's directions for about 500 feet before taking a sharp bend. The wind suddenly dies down completely as you find yourself in a forest. Underground. The cavern you enter is enormous, and filled to the brim with thousands of 3-foot tall pine trees, every single one of which is staring at you.

> "Turn off the fireworks, NOW!" Kogasa commands with a harsh whisper, and you're inclined to agree, stopping your flames completely. Fortunately, someone's been lighting this place up recently, as strung along the ceiling are a number of makeshift lanterns, thoroughly iced over but still providing a dim light to the room. Unfortunately, as a result you need a minute to adjust the the change in lighting, during which it looks like the trees edge behind you while clearing the way in front of you.

> "Who's side are you on?" a girl's voice echos through the room.

>"I'm not on Galactic's side, I can tell you that much. The shit they've done so far would've killed me. Y'know, if I could die."

> "You don't sound like that Kaguya girl. Let me get a better look atch'ya," the girl says, as the forest parts itself through the middle. Near the back of the room, you make out a fairly young girl and an 10-foot snow monster, both of which slowly approach.

> You wonder how she stays warm with her sweater wrapped around her waste like that.

> "Nope, not Kaguya." the girl says, still coming closer. "Great, more weirdos," she adds with just enough enthusiasm that you honestly can't tell if she's being sarcastic or serious. You notice that she isn't wearing a gas mask.

> "Um... your snowman is kind of scary..." Kogasa pipes in while hiding behind you. You admit, the monster's stare is disconcerting, and it's size advantage becomes more and more obvious the closer it gets. You swear that it's taking your continued presense in front of it's master as a personal insult. Finally it stops a mere five feet in front of you, placing you completely in it's shadow, as every single one of the thousands of trees looks on.

> "Yeah, she needs to lighten up a bit. Name's Candice," she says, arms crossed. "Now who are you, and is there a reason you two're up here? Don't tell me you're here for the view."

> "Um... what? Is this some kind of religious philosophy or something, or are you just messing with me?" Candice asks.

> "Nah, we're here to... uh... Why are we up here again?" Kogasa asks.

>Remove gas mask for dialogue.
>"There's a noxious cloud ruining the view on your mountain. I'm here to get rid of it, so yes actually."

> "Oh. Well, I suppose we could do that," Kogasa says.

> "That's a big job," Candice replies. "I'd be happy if you could get this gunk out of my town, let alone Coronet. Action's up top; I've been seeing a bunch of weirdos up there you'd fit right in with. May head on up myself once I'm finished security here. Also, stick close, these little guys trust me, but they'll freeze you to death in a heartbeat. So no funny buisness."

>"When you say Kaguya, do you mean a haughty flat-chested teenager with a long black hime cut?"

> "That sounds 'bout right. The snover did not like her at all. Made a really ice sculpture out of her before I chiseled her out. That girl had some rediculous regeneration skills even for a psychic, although that cryokinetic with her puts every psychic I've ever seen to shame," Candice explains. "A lot of weirdos coming up, most of 'em are real strong but are complete babies at the basic survival and battling stuff. Bunch of leaders up there too. Probably dangerous. Ought to be fun. Want directions?" Candice asks.

> Snicker a little at the image of a frozen Kaguya.
> "Sure."

> "There's been a lot of quick work on this place in the past few days, so throw out your old maps." Candice begins. "Originally, Galactic had this place all wired up, but a lot of the routes have been badly damaged, and even following lit paths will get you lost. You'll need to take the first tunnel on the left here, it'll go down a bit, but I marked the route I came from with X's. Follow them until you enter a huge chasm, it'll go straight up for about 1000 feet or so. Work your way up along the side, and take the highest tunnel that's lit, it should be near the north end of the chasm. That's on the left as you enter, since compasses don't always work too well down here."

> "Also, a warning, my route might not be up to date."

>Wonder how Kaguya managed to get ahead of us anyway

> Maybe she cheated?

> You imagine her riding a giant snake creature like a horse through both the forest and the mountain, rampaging her way through the mountain while wearing a cowboy hat and shouting "YEE-HAW!"

> You'll have to ask Kaguya when you meet her.
>Resolve to set her on fire for that. And because she exists.

>And because, hey, fire.

> Both very good reasons to set things on fire. Although you're told that the existence of both things and fire is not sufficient reason to set the things on fire.

> Keine really doesn't appreciate fire enough.

> Well, it's Kaguya, therefore you are automatically justified in setting it on fire.

>"Are you saying you have a town here inside the mountain?"

> "Kinda. Snowpoint got pretty badly poisoned, and everyone we couldn't evacuate via harbor had to escape through the tunnels. And of course these little guys took shelter too," Candice indicating the trees, as she grimaces, before continuing. "It's all been a nightmare. Got a couple hundred guys a quarter mile to the right, ten of which have pokemon that can dig us out. Hopefully they'll do it far enough from Coronet that we don't get poisoned. I don't know what Galactic is doing, or why, but do me a favor and give these guys hell."

> "Oh, and try not to get yourselves killed."

> "Point taken," Kogasa says. "Mokou, from now on you're in charge of going first."
