>Blanket field approach.

> Follow this up by charging forwards.  Maybe we can get the Lucario to cancel it's attack.

> You have Charmeleon blanket the terrain ahead in flames, all the while charging the Lucario. It is unable to dodge due to having no place to escape, and is set alight by the fires.

> The jackal releases it's "aura sphere". The faintly glowing ball of light is unusual compared to shadow ball in that although your Lighter makes to dodge right, the attack follows the dodge much like how a bowling ball can be redirected by applying spin to it. This must be what Cirno meant by being an undodgeable attack - the creature "reads" your pokemon to anticipate where it will end up.

> Your Charmeleon is now directly in front of the Lucario. The jackal changes its stance suddenly, you assume its planning for close range attacks, as opposed to the long range aura sphere.

> Your options include, but are not limited to:

> Flamethrower, aimed - a fairly focused attack that does heavy damage if it hits.
> Flamethrower, blanket field - covers the whole area in front of Lighter with flames.
> Scratch
> Ember

> Retreat backwards
> Charge forwards
> stand ground
> strafe left/right

> Other

> Since it's closer, try for an aimed Flamethrower.

> You manage to graze the creature by mere proximity, its feeling the heat, but the jackal keeps ahead of the flames themselves before delivering an uppercut that sends Lighter into the ceiling. Lighter manages to hit the ground well enough, but he took a beating.

> The Lucario looks pretty badly burned, and your Charmeleon is panting heavily.

> You throw a pokeball at the pokemon. It shakes twice before snapping shut.

> Congratulations! You caught a Lucario! Give a nickname to the newly caught pokemon?

> You have three pokeballs and one premier ball left. You're lighter was pretty badly beat up, you suspect one more hit could knock it out. Whereas for exploring, you can either continue deeper into the mine, or return to the entrance.

> Your inventory is as follows:

> 20,600 p. The conversion rate is 100 P = $1.
> 3 pokeballs
> 1 premier ball
> 3 potions
> 2 antidotes
> 1 burn heal
> 1 oran berry

> 1 Pokedex
> 1 cellphone, with several numbers programmed on it.
> 1 town map. You can pick up the town map for each region in any pokemon center. Your current map covers Kanto and Johto.
> 1 firestone
> 1 torn shirt. You should really get that looked at.
> 1 spare pair of red pants.

> You are currently wearing a red longcoat, a white shirt, and your signature pair of pants.

>Continue on. If the pokemons deep inside are too tough we ahould head back.

> You continue deeper into the mine.

> You see a light in the distance. You approach it and see 3 people with flashlights. The two of them with terrible hair are arguing with a guy that has a nice hat. They appear to be nearly at blows with eachother.

> You are worried about the guy with the nice hat, it is two against one.

> "We should stop them," Keine suggests. "Wouldn't want anyone getting hurt."

> Cirno counters "Doesn't matter; Riley has this under control. Those Galactic grunts are in for a whipping. I vote we watch."

> "That's Riley," Cirno explains. "He's the guy that follows you around in Iron Island before giving you a Riolu egg. This is the first time I've met him in person though. I'm pretty sure those two Galactic grunts are in for a whooping though." You recall that Cirno did seem to know an awful lot about pokemon before she went on this journey.

>Talk it out. If fails, fight.

> You get closer to the argument. You notice a couple of large rock snakes behind the grunts.

> "We're under orders from the higher ups, alright? Deal is we dig around, restock Galactic's supply of pokemon, you know the drill. We don't want to fight."

> "This is my mine." Riley says. "Now I've been generous. I let you guys come along and have your fun. But you two are causing trouble for everyone else, riling the pokemon up and weakening the terrain. It's become a safety issue, and that's when my generosity runs out."

> "Unfortunately, we're under orders. And you aren't allowed to mess up our operations."

> You consider placing yourself into the conversation as a mediator.

>Join the fight, our priority is smacking heads certain heads around isn't it?

> Course, joining the fight would be easier. Who needs words when you can resort to violence. You can send out any of the following:

> Beedrill
> Charmeleon
> Scyther
> Magikarp
> Kingler
> Haunter

> Why yes, yes they are. You walk up to them and smack their heads together.

> "God that hurt," the female grunt says.

> "Are you looking for trouble too?" the male says. Now that you see them up close, you realize their outfits are almost as gaudy as their hair. The only pokemon they currently have out is their rock snake and a small cat.

> Mokou used intimidate! It's super effective!

> Wings of flame sprout from your back, heating up the cave a good ten degrees. You hold each of them by the collar, one in each hand and flash them a maniacal grin. "W-we still aren't af-f-fraid of you!" the other grunt says. You'd be more inclined to believe him if not for the tears.

>If that fails, then we have a battle?

> Not a bad idea, but you think intimidation is working pretty well! One last push, and they'll be crying for their mommies.

> One of the grunts speaks through his tears, "Y-you know, our orders a-a-aren't that important. We'll let you off easy. Onix, get us out of here NOW!"

> The Onix digs out a gently upwardly sloping hole, through which the grunts sprint away.

> You return your attention to Keine, Riley, and Cirno. The latter two are stunned by your display. Keine is slightly annoyed.

> "You know, it really is terrifying when you do that," Keine says casually, crossing her arms. "Effective, but terrifying."
