It was only a matter of time before those Greece jokes came up. Poor guys. Ignoring their financial issue, they didn't really play. After the 2-0 I stopped watching that game and went away. Russia vs Poland was enjoyable for some strange reason. Even though both teams were playing chaotic and weird situations occurring, it was quite enjoyable.

Oh btw tonight:

    VS

and Denmark vs lolRonaldo

That match will be too tasty to watch! :V

LOL Ronaldo indeed - missed quite a few shots! Quite a tense game in the last 10 minutes too.

All is decent.

So I guess Germany's winning won? Because my neighbourshood are is shouting like crazy...

That's both a good and a bad thing when you have neighbours that watch football. You don't have to actually watch the games to know if your home team is winning/won.

They're sure to advance, yeah. Hard to see them not getting first place off their group too.

Well *****. Holland lost vs Germany. Our coach is a moron, doesn't put Huntelaar in first 11. Also Persie misses 3x but scores 4th time by luck.

Germany deserved to win because they were simply better. Kudos to Germany. Still cannot believe this is World Cup 2nd place Holland.

Holland advancing is hard and impossible at this moment. Needs SanaeMiracle vs Porto.

Croatia vs Italty was lol. 1-1 was deserved. Croatia is going to smash Spain :V

But seriously, Spain vs Ireland. Even if Ireland lost so hard, their supporters were non-stop cheering and singing. Really was admired by their support, Dutchies and other countries should learn from it imo.

Brilliant gallery of fake tabloid coverage here for the upcoming England-Sweden match. If only the actual game will be as exciting.

It was, actually.

Not that the level of play was grandiose or anything, but it sure was thrilling from the second half onwards.

God dammit Wellbeck.

Poland (my home team) vs Czech Republic should be the more exciting match today. The general attitude in Poland was "oh yeah,  we'll show you" at first, then switched to "oh no, we're horrible and going to die", now it's the first one again. We need a victory and the team is well aware that all hell will break loose if they fail, but if they win, they will become national heroes, so expect a very determined performance.

Group A has a pretty dramatic scenario at this moment.

Poland already got defeated in the Euro Cup 2012 =/ 1 out of 2 host teams already got kicked out in the poule phase. Russia as well got disabled. =/ Well played though Russia & Poland.

Tomorrow for Dutchies it will be hell x 1000.

Well, damn it. Damn it. How can you dominate the first half so thoroughly, then basically give the game away in the second half? HOW?!

I'm happy for Greece though. They aren't exactly the best team around, but the quarter-final is fine compensation for their incredible bad luck so far.

Well, if Denmark doesn't win in their match against Germany tomorrow, the knockout stage will see Greece vs Germany.

I can see the potential tabloid headlines already: "Germany force Greece exit from Euro."

Bye bye Holland, if you would've played better in the first two matches you wouldn't had to struggle like this. Germany scored in the last 10min to 2-1 kicking Denmark from the EC as well.

In the 1/4 finals,  Germany vs Greece indeed van lolRonaldo vs Czechzors

Another dramatic conclusion to the final group in the EC

Ukraine gets kicked out, meaning both host teams are out of the EC. Pretty sad that the 5th referee was blind as ***** because that ball crossed the goal line by miles. It could've caused a major difference in playstyle and tension. No offence to England, they did their thing but seriously: Have 5-6 referees on the field, still fail to spot a clear goal.

With group D being finished 1/4 finals are approaching. Who is going to be the winner of this EC? My guess:

1/4 finals
Czech vs Porto --> Unfortunately, lolPorto will win...
Greece vs Germany --> Achtungland will win.
England vs Italy --> Now this is quite tricky. But guessing from their previous matches I think England will win.
Spain vs France --> France lately became really weak. Spain is will probably win.

1/2 finals (most likely)
Germany vs Porto --> Bradwurst > Ronaldo. He needs to cry imo.
England vs Spain --> No offence to spain but we've seen how lovely artists the spain team was in the WC2010 like fake diving because of "tackle" etc. I hope England beats them.

Finals
Germany vs England --> This is tricky. But my guess will be Germany for EC champion.

I've Germany vs Spain down for the finals. I doubt England will make it past Spain (about 50-50 vs Italy) despite being one of the luckiest teams on the pitch, although if they do I will laugh.

I WANT Spain to win, but like they say, it's VERY unlikely that they'll win 3 major tournaments consecutively (they would be the first to do so), but I'll keep my hopes up for them.

Otherwise, I'd be more than happy to see Germany win. After all this time on being SO CLOSE but choking in the end, it'd be nice to see them finally win again.

Also, lol at Ukraine. Honestly, I ALWAYS found it ridiculous that FIFA implemented extra referees on the goal lines FOR THIS SPECIFIC REASON, and yet they STILL can't see it. I hope this will send FIFA a message on video replays (seriously, just give the 4th referee, the one handling substitutions, more to do by taken care of the video replay while the communicate through their headphones), but knowing FIFA, they're as stubborn as a mule.

Blatter actually came out after the game and said goal line replay is now a necessity.

(Second time in a year that he's come out storming for major changes after an English victory predicated on the current system those changes would affect. But hey, who's counting? :V)

Oh hey this thread.

I've actually been unwittingly following this, as it's being shown at my bar. I don't have too much faith in France, to be honest, after seeing Sweden beat them 2-0. Then again, that wasn't until what, the last ten minutes of the match? France can hold their own, defense-wise. But Spain will probably crush them. While I think it almost goes without saying that Germany will beat Greece, I'm not so sure about Portugal v. Czech Republic. I could honestly see the Czechs take that one.

Yes, this will likely end up being Germany v. England. But I don't think Germany will take this on account of their amazing playing; they'll win because England has had a less than consistent game with way too many close calls. Germany remains pretty solid, and will likely be the champs here.

I made a huge error with the 1/4 and 1/2 matchups. Germany can never play vs England in the finals because winner of QF1 plays vs QF3. So to adjust my new predictions quickly:

Germany vs England --> Most likely Germany. Tricky but guess Germany.
Porto vs Spain --> Wow, world cup deja vu. Spain will win.

Finals
Germany vs Spain --> Bah. I hope Germany because Spain is team diving deluxe.

This game is giving off a wonderful vibe so far, hope they'll be able to keep up that pace until the end. A comeback by Greece is unlikely, but not impossible.

Edit: Splendid, though I really can't bear to look at the faces of the Greece fans and players when they're behind by three goals with not even five minutes left to play. Definitely not complaining about that penalty kick.
