Things I learned from Otakon 2012

1: fuck holiday inn
2: vodka and a slushie is a very quick way to get hammered
3: I think I spent more time drunk than sober or asleep combined
4: there are too many pandas in our group
5: toecon
6: kappas really like butts and cannot lie
7: enjo-g is the best karaoke ever
8: going to bed with one person sharing the bed and then waking up with someone else instead is terrifying
9: momi sucks xP
10: cooking owns

Travel notes:
1. Scooter sucks.
2. Eurobeat owns.
3. Popeyes owns.
4. Ghetto cargo mounts are great for keeping the car doors shut tight.
5. THE GEORGE WASHINGTON BRIDGE IS THE WORST THING EVER, CURSE YOU, GAND, FOR MISSING THE EXIT FOR THE TAPPAN ZEE BRIDGE.

Con summary:
1. Mapo dofu is dabes.
2. The game room was sadly lacking in Bemani arcade machines, but at least it had TYPING OF THE DEAD.
3. Suzuran is still full of stories.
4. We descend upon restaurants in legion, we descend upon karaoke rooms in legion.
5. I probably spent more time in the hotel room than actually doing con things, but it was still amazing.

I forgot to say that I'm home and stuff! Jam and I went straight to sleep when we arrived; it's been about 6 hours. In a sense, I hope we're the last ones so that we can know that everyone made it home safe!

Just wanted to drop by and thank everyone I met at the photoshoot (especially those who hosted it) for being so awesome because I had a great time.  It was my first Touhou cosplay (I was the incredibly shy Youmu staying at the Holiday Inn) so I didn't know anyone prior to the panel/shoots.  Despite that, dinner on Saturday was really fun.  Sorry for being so quiet though!  I hope I didn't come off as too weird or anything. 

Looking forward to seeing you guys at future cons maybe!

Being a somewhat quiet guy myself, I wouldn't worry too much about coming off weird or anything like that.

Though looking back, I'm still a bit surprised that dragon ball plushie got so much attention.

Bah, I should have engaged you more and been all "HI" and stuff. It's not like I was talking a lot at the dinner except to give orders and stuff.

Heyo, so there's gonna be a sliiiiiiight wrinkle in getting the video up this time around, as I need to pick through and make sure I don't accidently upload me being a dumbass and recording the Orioles game briefly watched so that MLB doesn't try to remove two hundred fifty thousand big ones through my nose.  Once I figure out how to trim things though, I should be good; stay tuned!

If it's just removing pieces of a video, plop it into Windows movie Maker or similar and you can trim it that way.

Yeah. There were a pair of PIU machines, but there was really wasn't much in the way of rhythm games in arcade cabinets. There was an older version of pop'n CS and IIDX12 CS, but the TVs they were hooked up to were so soft. D: (they also had Dreamy Theater, so you could Miku it up)
Kinda surprising, especially after the showing they had last year, which included plenty more arcade cabs, including a BMIII cab.

Thankfully(?) no, unless I was drugged and simply don't remember it.  Truthfully, I didn't get to talk to people much save for the male Youmu and the two Yuyukos.



Speaking of which, if that male Youmu frequents this board, I hope everything turned out alright with the room situation and whatnot.  Your myon was quite adorable.

That's a fun mispronunciation. The song, apparently, is supposed to make fun of just about every Kpop video trope there is. These Kpop reviewers I saw made a good point about PSY - he's not good looking, so he's competing in a sea of really, really ridiculously good looking people using only good music, some fine dance moves, and a sense of humor. So for those of you who don't know me as i'm Never on the forum: Hatless Keine here.  Otakon was so fun hanging out with you all again. I'm looking a for picture of me holding A blue keine sukusuku plushie and a Mokou sukusuku plushie. This happened on saturday. if any of you guys come  across it let me know please and thank you!

Ah I loved your costume.  I also have that picture of me (Mokou) giving you an apple that was one of my favorite pictures I got all weekend.
