> Try another pokeball on the Haunter.

> "Aw crap. You couldn't have waited until after I ate? Dreams don't eat themsel-" The Haunter is silenced by being sucked into its pokeball, which shakes twice and clicks shut.

> You caught a Myon!

> "Yes, best to try before they eat." Patchouli says, likewise caputuring the ghastly.

> If it's a success, return Lighter to his ball.

> Both you and Patchouli return your pokemon to their balls. "Well, I've had enough excitement for one night. I'll be at the center if you need me." You consider what you wish to do next. Both your new haunter and Lighter are pretty beat. You have 7 pokeballs (including premier) and 6 potions left. Patchouli has not yet departed.

Perhaps we should join Patchouli at the center instead. We can heal up for the night and set out to conquer Sprout Tower tomorrow with our full team available.

Opinions?

Mod note: Next week I think I'll need to send my computer in for repairs, so starting monday afternoon this text adventure will be on V/LA until Friday. Feel free to submit commands during this time, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

Perhaps we should join Patchouli at the center instead. We can heal up for the night and set out to conquer Sprout Tower tomorrow with our full team available.

> You return to the pokemon center with Patchouli. You hand the nurse your pokemon, and she quickly heals both of them.

> Pot Lighter

> You sit down and pat Lighter's head. It whips its tail back and forth; it's flame is awfully close to the couch but it seems to enjoy being patted. You decide to return it to its ball before going to sleep; don't want to accidentally set the bed on fire.

> "May I borrow your Haunter tonight?" Patchouli asks. "I'd like to get some research done, and having a pokemon I can talk to might speed things along."

> "Sure.  Call me if he starts raising some hell though."

> You hand Patchouli the pokemon. She thanks you, and you go to bed in one of the pokemon center's visitor rooms.

> You and your army of giant bees are in the throne room of your castle. You are sitting in the throne. "Hey Kaguya, hurry up. Wine doesn't pour itself you know."

> "Coming!" Kaguya says. She is wearing a french maid outfit that shows quite a bit of leg. Then, everything turns black. You are alone, and it's cold, and OW THAT STINGS.

> You are jolted awake to your Haunter's laughter. "You really don't die when I kill you, huh? Thanks for the meal!" You have a huge headache, and when you go to check you realize there is a knife stickin out of your skull. Patchouli is in the room holding two cups, though she doesn't seem to be "there", her stare is blank, paying more attention to the wall than to the scene. "Patchouli, give the girl her tea, chop chop!" Haunter commands with two claps.

> "Yes... Master." The librarian says, handing one glass to you  and the other to Haunter. You take the glass, still in a bit of a daze. Your current condition is bleeding.

> Sigh.
> "Are all ghost Pokemon like this?"

> "Naw, some of us are dangerous!"

> You wonder what the hell is more dangerous than knifing heads.

> We should probably take the knife out.

> You put the glass down and grab the knife with both hands. With a hard tug, you rip the knife out, blood pouring out of the reopened wound as you convulse. That's the problem with head wound, there's always the convulsions when you try to fix a broken brain. Conveniently the gash in your forhead quickly closes itself.

> Upon closer inspection, it appears to be a swiss army knife, with mini-scissors, a corkscrew, a fork, and a number of other convenient tools. You wouldn't be surprised if it belonged to Patchouli.

>And then personally flame the shit out of Haunter until it releases Patchouli.
>"And no eating my dreams again, either."

> "GYYYAAAAHHHHH" the haunter screams. "Alright, alright, here." Haunter snaps its fingers.

> Patchouli snaps to attention. "Huh? Why am I... Where am I... Wha? Um, Hi Mokou."

>Giveit some extra pain, because that dream was a good one.

> "Maybe just a nibble? Your dreams are quite tastyeeEEEEAAHAHAHA-"

> The Haunter drops to the floor burning. Patchouli calls it back and returns your ball. You think it's learned it's lesson, but you think it will need to spend the next day in the pokemon center. You analyze the situation. Haunter needs a doctor and your sheets are caked in blood.

> You take the Haunter to the reception counter and are greated by a different nurse, probably the night shift. "Another?" she dully states. "Yeah, the pokemon tend to cause problems at night. That's the price of living in a town with ghosts, you get trainers that find out ghosts can be a handful the hard way," she explains with a sigh. "Clean up after your own mess. The vaccuum is in the laundry room is down the hall, and there's some bleach on the shelf. Your... lets take a look... Haunter will be fine tomorrow night and you'll be able to pick it up at any center. Also, here's your pokemon back," she says, handing back Dash and Flint. You bag the sheets so that the nurse doesn't notice the blood, and stick them in the washer with a flood of bleach.

> It is now 4 am. Patchouli takes her knife back and heads to sleep. You are wide awake. You can either try to go back to bed, or head to any of these destinations (desintations in red will not be open when you reach them):

Stores
Pokemon School
Violet City Gym
Sprout tower
Ruins of Alph
National Park
Dark Cave
Goldenrod City
Azalea Town
Ecruteak City
Mahogany Town

Controlling it to make sure we don't light up any OTHER trees.

> You wonder if you love flames a little bit too much. You remember a time when your default response to any mystery in life was something other than applying fire to it, but then you realize you've always enjoyed watching things burn more than most. You apply a liberal amount of fire to the tree, and are disappointed at the lack of burning this tree is doing. It is shaking violently back and forth, so that's something at least.

Hm...

Wouldn't it be better if we brought Patchy the tree? Since she's sick and all. We should try to take it with us.

With the power derived from coolness!

Yeah, sure, everything else seems to be a pokemon. Let's try a ball.

> With your power derived from coolness and your portable pack mule, you think the best way would be to rest it across your Ponyta's back and make Dash do the heavy lifting.

> Touch tree to confirm tree-like feeling.

> You touch the tree. It is as solid as a rock. If you had to describe the feeling of this tree, you would describe it as rock-like rather than tree-like.

>Maybe it's a Pokemon that looks like a tree. Try a Pokeball.

Yeah, sure, everything else seems to be a pokemon. Let's try a ball.

> The tree extends one of it's branches and knocks the ball out of the air. You have 6 pokeballs left. You are confident that the tree isn't a tree.

> You take out your pokedex. "Sudowoodo, the Imitation Pok?mon. Although it camouflages itself as a tree in order to avoid being attacked, its body is actually more like a rock than like a plant. It hates water and disappears whenever it rains."

> Decide if this is the sort of thing we would want in our squad.

> Is it? You like fire, but more than that you like things that won't die on you. This thing doesn't look all that special, and you guess it has a fairly ordinary lifespan. Still, you are always open to trying out new things, though you doubt you should keep too many ice types around. You think melting your pokemon would be unfortunate, to say the least.

> You recall that regardless of how many pokemon they catch, most trainers have no more than 6 pokemon on hand, and store the rest. The details and mechanics behind this are lost on you, but you suppose you could always sort it out later.
