> Consider the ethical issues surrounding catching something for Patch to research.

> You consider them. It's a ghost, so it's dead, so Patchouli probably can't kill it. And its licks got ghost slime on your shirt.

> You are completely fine with any experiment Patchouli wants to perform, especially if it's painful.

I doubt Patchy would do anything harmful to Myon. We probably don't have to worry.

> If it's just invisibility test, you probably don't have anything to worry about.

Should we try to weaken the ghost first? I mean, it already seems to like us. That might not even be necessary. Perhaps we should just throw a ball at it - or, hell, just carry it around with us.

You think it will join you easily enough, but you think it wants to play first. You think battling it would be a good idea.

>The Patchy says we can take it on, it's time to take it on.  Assuming that Lighter is in good form, start off with Ember.

> You have Lighter attempt an ember. It connects, and Gastly responds with some weird spinny-eye attack. You aren't sure what it did, but your Charmander is doing the Macarena.

> "That's hypnosis," Patchouli explains. "If the move hits it puts the target in a trance. You should try to snap Charmander out of it before the ghost starts eating it's dreams. Totodile, slap Charmander."

> Patchouli's totodile gives Charmander a tap and it stops dancing. Gastly is laughing hysterically.

>Share at the ghost for a little longer, and try to poke him.

>Having a ghost would be great, so lets have Myon!

> You poke the ghost, and your hand passes right through. The ghost, in turn, passes straight through you and sends a chill up your spine.

> Throw a pokeball at the Gastly.

> You throw a pokeball at the Gastly. The ball shakes once, then ghastly breaks free and sticks its tongue out at you. It then escapes through the ceiling. You chase after it but rather than a ghost you are greeted by an elderly man on the next floor.

> "Ghost hunters, eh? At least, I assume so. No one else comes this late." The man shakes your hand. "I'm Li, caretaker of this establishment."

> "Have you seen a Gastly?" Patchouli pants.

> "I can't say I have." Li explains, stroking his beard "But they do like to play with the visitors. Sometimes they even follow guests home. Happy hunting you two!" You can't shake the feeling that there's something odd about this room. You feel like the shadows are staring at you. "Time to go home," Li adds. "Before I leave, is there anything you'd like to ask? I know quite a bit about our ghosts."

>"Well, when you live as long as I have, you tend to learn a few things."

> "Older than you look, eh?" the caretaker says. "Me too." You note that the man looks around 60 years old, so this isn't a young ghost.

>Look at the ceiling for a possible chance of that Gastly looking at us.

> You glance at the ceiling and-

> *SLURP*

> Aw god damn it. Another tongue to the face.

> "Good call there too. Ghastly don't have hands." the man's form is whisped away, "But Haunter do."

> You are now staring down 2 ghosts - the ghastly you were chasing earlier, and this new one called "Haunter". Patchouli will want one of them, and she has commanded her Totodile to attack. She is about to shoot of some off her own spells as well. The two ghosts are laughing histerically.

> Lighter is doing great! Patchouli's Totodile looks very skittish though, you note that it's been licked a couple times. You stand back to back with Patchouli, and command Lighter to join Patchy's Totodile against the Gastly.

>Ghost use curse!

> "Interesting," Haunter says, reappearing next to gastly. It summons a large nail and thrusts the nail through its own head. "Lets see how you handle a curse, 'immortal'" Your Lighter suddenly bends over, it looks like it's about to retch. Haunter is bleeding smoke from it's forhead.

>Ponder if that's real blood.

> You have no idea what ghost blood looks like, but Haunter is definitely bleeding something, and that something is not a liquid. It's also not red, but a black smoke. However, you observe that it's breathing heavily (which is surprising, you didn't realize ghosts could breath), and your pondering leads you to conclude that it's bleeding rather than throwing smoke up for show.

>...Is Lighter alright?

> Lighter is definitely not alright, and seems to be getting worse by the second. You think that whatever commands you give Lighter you will need to give quickly, otherwise your pokemon is going to collapse.

> Totodile, use water gun on gastly!" Patchouli commands as Lighter throws flames at the haunter, Your attacks beat them back, and they retaliate with two hypnosis attacks. Admittedly, you did not know charmander and totodile could ballroom dance. They're pretty good a it too.

> Ghastly and Haunter both look pretty beat, but your charmander is still cursed even if the hypnosis is keeping Lighter from feeling it. You're also a little worried about the way Ghastly is drooling.
