> Is the closer house the edge of the building we saw earlier?

>No, you suspect it is still a bit early out.
>The house at the edge is not the one you saw earlier.  Looking back, you can see that one, it is a lone house with a small, mostly bare yard around it, tucked innocuously into a tiny clearing.

>The one near the edge is two stories tall, and seems to be in relatively good condition. You note, on a closer look, that its walls seem to be covered in various little pictures; a large turtle on the side and an eyeball near the apex of the roof catch your eye. The other one in the middle of the plain is harder to see, but it seems to be smaller and more humble.

>You keep heading north, while the sun starts to peek out over the horizon.
>You watch the plain, but note nothing more unusual than a pond where the road you're following meets a road heading east toward the mountains.  You think you can see some activity around the lone house in the middle of the plains. Looking further north, you can see the small town has a little activity, but not too much at the moment.

>You make your way toward the town. As you get closer, you can see that there are a number of small one and two story houses along the edge, some small and a couple on the large side. Further in, you see some housing rows and a few other scattered homes and buildings. Overall, the village seems to be built haphazardly along a crossroad and expands out from it. On the northern side you see more scattered houses, and a large building that has some odd curves to it.  Beyond the village, you can see numerous farms.

> Cut that distance in half, then land and bounce on into the village, headed for that tall building with odd curves.

>You land near the outskirts of the village, and bounce toward it.
>Passing by a few small but separate homes, you come to the main crossroads of the town. There are some piles of snow strewn about, particularly near some doorsteps, but a lot of it has melted away and left the ground muddy. To the west, you can see a building with a sign hanging over it depicting a sake cup, there seems to be some light inside.  Across the way, on the northeastern corner, you see a two-story building with a fenced-in playground. A partially-melted snowman rests by the door with a set of sticks placed into its head to resemble horns. Down the intersecting street, toward the east, you can see a few people moving about; a green-haired woman in a red vest setting up a table and a dark-skinned woman sweeping in what appears to be an open-air smithy.  Further on, you can see the eastern edge of town. Some of the buildings are set reasonably close together and make some inviting-looking alleys. In the distance, toward the north, you hear a rooster crow. Obvious exits are North, North 2, South, South 2, East, and West.

>You decide to wander eastward a bit and talk with the greenhaired woman, whom you quickly discern is youkai. You note she is wearing a checked red skirt that matches her vest, and seems to be positioning potted plants on the table. She glances over toward you as you approach; you note her eyes are red; and says, "I'm sorry, but I'm not open just yet."

>"That is quite extraordinary," says the youkai, raising an eyebrow. "It certainly doesn't sound like any farmer around here, I can say that much. But perhaps I am mistake, the number of extraordinary humans seems to have been multiplying over the past few decades."
