>"Well, maybe," says Nue. She frowns, looking into space for a moment. "Most people are alright, as long as you don't approach them the wrong way, or when they are in a bad mood. There's a real shit of a hakutaku in human town, though. Oh, and look out for the green-haired youkai with the parasol. She's very dangerous and tetchy. She lives in the flower fields to the north and a bit west of town."
>"You should be welcome on Youkai Mountain," says Koyomi, "Unless some disaster has happened since I left."
>"Then they'll be real jerks about it," Nue says.
>"Maybe to you," says Koyomi, grinning a bit "But what do you expect for a terror like yourself?"
>"A parade would be fitting," says Nue with a shrug. "A couple of meal tickets?"

>Koyomi snickers. You are not sure if she's snickering with Nue or at her.

>Nue looks it over. "Maybe I could use it. I'm surprised you don't want it, though. You'd think a good knife like that would be handy for someone who roughs it like you do. I could sharpen it up for you, if you wanted. But, if you really wanted to get rid of it, hmmm, I'll give you 15☼."

>You make your way back toward the river, keeping cool and confident. You still feel a kind dazzled sensation in the aftermath of actually defeating an oni in mostly fair combat, but this is tempered by wariness; the last thin you need is for someone to try and take you while you're already worn out and frazzled.
>You make your way down the street until it intersects with the market again, then head southward. The oni here pay you less mind, you don't think word of what happened has reached here yet. Thankfully, you've also not had quite so many problems in the market as you have elsewhere, and a soon see the bridge come into sight. Even better, there's still no sign of the bridge princess there.

>You make your way down to the city side riverbank.
>The hill is a little steep, but it's nothing you can't handle one way or another. Looking east and west, you can see a few piers extending into the river, often with little boats by them. The water flows smoothly and slowly here, you can see a couple boats floating in the middle of the river in the distance.
>You tend to use your blanket as a rag or towel when cleaning things, largely because you tend to clean a lot of things at once, then make some fire to help it dry quickly. You could use your spare robe or your recently acquired scarf for such, as well.
