> Do youkai have a natural physical advantage over humans in terms of strength and endurance?
>Yes, and sometimes considerably, though this varies depending on the type of youkai. You yourself are appreciably stronger than a human of your build would be, though less so than a particularly muscular one might; as youkai go, you're pretty much a lightweight. Endurance-wise, youkai tend to eclipse humans to a larger degree than they do in brute force. You can sustain significant injuries before being at risk of long-term harm, let alone death, and you heal considerably more quickly. Even in this, you are rather on the shallow end of the youkai scale however. With some chagrin, you have to admit that even Orange, of all people, has you significantly outclassed in this area. You've seen her tumble down an honest to god
cliff and shrug it off with a smile in minutes. You're sure you would have been out of commission for at least a day or two if you'd been the one taking that fall. Of course, you would never have fallen off in the
first place....
>"All right, all right, sorry."
>Let Natsumi hold on to Miyuki, but keep some (most) of her weight on us.
>"Just didn't want to make anything worse."
>Miyuki nods at you without letting much of the grit out of her expression.
>You end making a sort of compromise, handing Natsumi partially over to Miyuki while continuing to carry as much of her weight as you think you can get away with.
>"Worry about 'worse' when we're out of here," Miyuki says.
>The ship continues rattling, and the noise is thunderous even beneath the deck. You're beginning to wonder if this is any safer than you were a few moments back.
