>"In that case, just hurry!" she replies, holding tightly to the railing as he body lurches to the side.
>You do not.
>You're a little under ten feet away now. A quick glance to your side suggests there's not much chance of picking her up and getting below deck before the ship has its appointment with that oversized stalactite.

>It seems so!
>You cover the rest of the distance as quickly as you can and catch the crewman as she slides back towards the strut again. A thin trail of blood seeps from a gash on her forehead, but the wound doesn't look like it's very serious. She groans.

>Though you make a point not to shout in her face, the woman still groans again as you call out her condition.
>You turn back to her and grab hold of her arms.
>The crewmen turns her head and tries to look at you as you speak, but the glazed look in her eyes suggests she isn't going to be able to help you much with moving her.
>"Behind you!" Miyuki screams.

>You whip your head around as quick as you can manage. The crag looms only a stone's throw from the side of the ship now, filling far too much of your field of vision. The ship is still pitching too much to be certain of where the crag will cross it, but it's going to be close to you and it's going to be very, very soon.

>You pull the woman up a little and get a better grip on her.
>The crag swings in from the middle of the port side, missing the rail by inches, and starts to cut an arc through the air in your direction and towards the rotor superstructure.

> Not a whole hell of a lot we can do to save the rotor structure, if it comes down to that. It's probably sturdier than we are.
> If this thing is cutting an arc in our direction, it is presumably coming at us not straight on, but at an angle, yes? Drag ourselves and the downed crewwoman horizontally in whichever direction (left or right) the point of the crag is coming from, but not forward toward it at all. Hopefully it will end up cutting a path across the space right in front of us instead. If we get to a point where we think we need to for the extra momentum, roll ourselves and the downed crewwoman in the same direction instead.

>You may be a youkai, but you're not made of solid steel, either. Hopefully it's solid enough.
>You scramble to the side, quickly flattening yourself against the port rail as the crag barrels down the middle of the deck. The enormous mass of rock flies no more than a couple feet past your face, absolutely filling your field of vision. Your hair and clothing flutter violently in the wind stirred up by its passing. For a strange moment, you are very aware much aware of how close you are standing to death. You could even reach out and touch it. And then the Maiden goes into a dive as the momentum of its spin bring the crag around again and you fall into a forward roll, tumbling towards the bow. The crewman groans in your arms as you hold her tight against you.
>You hear a horrific grating sound in the air behind you and the ship shudders.

>The woman in your arms mumbles something, but you can't make it out.
>Miyuki is still by the starboard rail, apparently watching you two. You assume Murasa and Neu are still back in the wheelhouse.
>You're close to the middle of the deck again, now. The stairs leading below are near the fore.
>At the very least, she'd provide a safe evacuation route. Well, 'safe'.

>Do we appear to be in the clear? No more massive outcroppings of earth to dodge?

>"Making sure you don't get yourself killed!" she calls back, though her gaze seems drawn with deep concern to something above and behind you.
>You glance back in the same direction. It seems the screeching metal noise you heard was the crag tearing into the primary port turbine. The good news is that this seems to have provided enough of an anchor to dampen the ship's spin. The bad news is that you can see the damaged rotor wobbling and starting to sputter out. Above, you can faintly make out the clattering of loose rock, possibly dislodged by the impact.

>It would be hard to hear ones falling through open air as opposed to tumbling against stone; you barely heard them at all, as it is.

>You dash for the stairs as you hear the crag tearing free of the turbine behind you. Miyuki follows along with you, but her pace slows as she keeps pausing to look back at the struggling rotor. Glancing up as you move, most of the rocks seem to be clattering harmlessly away from the ship, but you see a few that are probably going to strike the deck depending on how it pitches in the next few seconds. You think you should be able to dodge them without issue, but you don't know how agile Miyuki is. Then the ship shudders again and you feel it start to fall.
>"Oh no..." you hear Miyuki breathe.

>You are in the forward third of the deck, towards the port side. Miyuki is slightly past the middle of the deck, by the starboard rail. The stairs are not much more than 15 feet away from you now.

>Progress towards the stairs, but a little more slowly, so as to allow us time to watch the rocks that could be a threat to her, as well as to us.

>"I don't think that crag's the problem right n-" Her words are cut short by a sharp chunk of rock impacting the deck. Her eyes widen and dart back in your direction and then upward. She starts to run.
>You start moving again yourself, weaving a comfortable around another piece of falling shale. You see a larger one falling near Miyuki's head, but she seems to notice it herself and shoves off the rail before you have to mention it. The boulder strikes the rail nearly dead on and sheers in two along a cleavage plane, most of it tumbling off the edge of the ship and into the deep while a smaller chunk falls lightly on the deck. Miyuki tries to regain her balance, but the ship lurches again and her foot catches on one of the fallen rocks. She stumbles.
>You're only a couple feet from the stairs now. Miyuki is about 12 feet behind you.
