Ten Desires is one of the harder lunatics.  Even EoSD is easier than it IMO, I've 1cced EoSD lunatic but haven't even reached Seiga in a TD lunatic attempt.

You and MewKyuu are the only ones i've heard this from Seiga is actually one of the most disappointingly easy stage 4 bosses of all times. Much easier than Patchy. I've even perfected her fight on lunatic once. Meanwhile i've never even bothered to play EoSD even on hard (not to speak of lunatic), it scares me. Though since i've seriously played EoSD last time my skill might be grown enough to try it, but no, thanks. Ten Desires gives you fewer lives but tons of bombs + trance, wich is complete cheat against your enemies, especially if you play as Marisa.
Actually the most problems i've got in my runs were caused by Miko and Yoshika.

This or build your own ones. Well, in my 1CC i screwed most of my routes pretty hard. That was kinda run where almost everything that could go wrong went wrong. :fail: But knowing the places that guaranteed give you tons of spirits is the key for surviving. Also it's better to preemptionaly bomb boss's attack point blank if you're not sure you can dodge it and you'll need some trance soon.

No, the one boss that utterly destroys me no matter what I do is...Kyouko.
Yoshika i can get through with 2-3 resources expended consistently.
Kyouko takes 4-5 across both appearances.
Miko...I'll be fine if I get to Stage 6 with 1 life and a couple bombs.
The hard part is getting there, by not dying horribly to Kyouko and not derping horribly on the stage parts (especially that of 4)

I can get through the stage parts of 1, 2 and 3 pretty consistently now at least thanks to Youmu.

Lunatic Kyouko boss is a matter of 2 bombs + 1 trance (well i bombed 3rd time to get some trance for stage 3), at least with Marisa. See my run. Screwing the routes began on stage 3 >_<

For me I bomb the midboss spell, and then pray that I don't do something stupid on the boss.  The only I got so far this run is because I deathbombed twice.

First spell:usually capture but deathbomb
Second nonspell: bomb
2nd spell: usually bomb but capture
3rd spell: usually capture but death

I wish to improve my performance on Kyouko so i can face stage 3 (wich always was kinda rubicon for me) with moar bombs in stock, but as for now i do as follows:

Midboss nonspell - bomb.
Midboss spell - capture, but farm a full trance right before it just in case.
Boss 1 nonspell - bomb.
1 spell - capture. It's easy even on lunatic. (i restart if i fail it for some reason)
2 nonspell - bomb. I usually get full trance here but if not...
2 spell - do as much damage till bubbles come then trance. If i havent got full trance yet - farm spirits point blank. Works all the time.
3 spell - "capture" (actually fail due to trance leftover) or bomb to get some trance for stage 3.

Using this route i enter stage 3 with 1 bomb and ~1,5 trance, but it would be much better if i learned how to surely dodge Kyouko's nonspells.

And all this adviced considering using Marisa. Doesnt work with Reimu cause of her poor trance power and lower spirit farming rate. Cant say anything about Youmu, cause havent played as her for real, but she might be even more effective than Marisa.

Youmu has the same trance damage and higher standard damage, but it's harder to get.
bomb the nonspells, trance the second spell near the end.  Got it.
My main issue is I forget I have trance during bosses and die with full.

Also, Ghost team captures of:
Fantasy Heaven (no focus)
Blazing Star (no focus)
Saigyouji Flawless nirvana (with actual dodging as opposed to sit there and pray)
Half past 4 (Kaguya's 4th last spell on lunatic, in 2 tries)
211/222 with Ghost Team.  Still need a bunch of hard stuff though.

midboss spell: you can capture this even if you sit right below Kyouko. It's pretty static anyways.
First spell: move to the corner when the wave blasts out. It's nothing more than that.
Third spell: misdirect the giant bubble of bullets to one of the corners and move to the other side to dodge, otherwise it becomes unreasonably dense. Yes, this means you have to redirect the first wave, and if you forget, bomb.

The nonspells I can't really do very well either and I usually have to bomb at least 2 of them (well, I'm fine moving outside of the reflecting box on the midboss spell, although that risks taking too long). The second spell is freaking hard.

I would agree that people do overblow the easiness of TD lunatic. It's NOT that easy, due to the low number of lives (even lower than EoSD!), which means way less margin for error.

I once had a replay desynch in 12.3. I was Patchy, but I forget what the AI was. The impotant thing is Patchy still won in the desyched replay. Comfortably.

It sounds like you people talking about TD let Kyouku's nonspells push you around too much. You can beat them by just being really cowardly, or just memo because I'm pretty sure they're static.

Midboss's one is static, boss's ones are actually aimed at your position when wave starts and then static, but i still can't read the pattern on lunatic speed, so i'd better bomb'em.

So I started up Hisoutensoku and played as Patchy against Lunatic Meiling. I closed my eyes and pressed buttons randomly and won both matches. My health never even fell below 50%.

I used to joke that the game could be played this way, but... I guess I wasn't joking after all.

I randomly felt like playing some Ten Desires while watching a movie at the same time, so I opened up Extra with Marisa.  I somehow managed to nearly ace the stage and ended up at Mamizou with 3 lives and 8/10 of the 4th and only used two bombs, one to clear Skyfish and one to get rid of the spam fairies after Nue.  This gave me enough resources to finally see her 8th transformation where she chases you around as Reimu.  It's not a 1CC yet, but it's the farthest I've gotten, so that's some progress at least!  The horizontal spellcard before it is my downfall most of the time.

The run itself was nothing special, it was a 6CC, albeit, my 3rd attempt ever. So I guess that's an acheivement. Especially since most of my lost lives were in spells that had changed. [Yoshika's last spell ._. I died 4 times. Curvy Lasers... so many curves.]

What I don't get is how I captured Miko's two hardest spells, and failed her easiest. ._.

3 miss no shooting UFO Stage 2. Two of those were on Kogasa's first non-spell in her battle.  :V

Turns out that sitting on her legs isn't really that hard to pull off. As in, its piss easy. I do need to keep an eye on her movements though so she doesn't bump into me. The second death was like that. As the card ended she was about to get in position to do PSM and she rammed me as she did so. As for PSM, its pretty easy to pacify like this. Impossible to do otherwise probably. Third death was on the final spellcard just in the beginning and it was a really dumb one too.

I guess I should make it my goal to do a no-miss pacifist run of UFO stage 2. However, if I get rammed once by Kogasa on the opener I'm gonna leave that as acceptable. The fun part is the two other spellcards anyway.

EDIT: Okay and a 1-miss no shooting Kyouko battle. I figured I'd give her a go since there isn't really anything wrong with her. Most be because she's on Byakuren's payroll. I died on the second non-spell of hers. Pacified everything else. Right now I'm still trying to figure out what the heck ZUN was trying to accomplish with the first spellcard but the others are still pretty cool.

Also got Hourai Elixir to 5 and 4 seconds on 2 consecutive runs, and managed 5 successful Hourai Jewel reversals.

It's a shame, I forgot how to do most of these cards.
