>She just does. You think it's just her weird way of being familiar. That and getting way too close to people for comfort. Thankfully she was too busy for the latter.
>"No problem," says Yamame.
>You head northward, descending into the depths and treading familiar ground. No unpleasant surprises await you, rather you tend to be the unpleasant surprise that awaits. As you reach the spot where you were laying in wait last time, you notice there's a couple of pieces of loose rock there that weren't there beforehand.

>Yes, they are different than the rock that makes up this area.
>You have a closer look at them. They seem to be pieces of granite, oblong and about an inch across. They would be good for throwing, though they lack the size or weight to do any real damage to anything but windows or paper walls.

> Are the rocks shiny?

>They are not, but they might sparkle in a good light.

I thought about it, but if it's just a plain rock, I'm not sure what we would do with it. And it's not like we don't know where to find it again, if we have reason to come back for it. That being said, I suppose it doesn't hurt to grab a small one.

I would grab at least one, just to be safe. Who knows, they could be gone by the time we're here again.

>Huh. How odd.
>Continue on to the Ancient City

>Go pick up one of the conspicuous stones and stow it in the bucket.

>You mentally remark on this oddity of this, and grab one of the stones
>You obtain: Small Pieces of Granite
>You continue on toward the city. The rest of the way is pretty easy, just floating down a corridor laden with rocky shelves that form something like oversized steps. You find yourself hoping that peasant had a hard time with them. The music of the Ancient City grows progressively louder, echoing around the corridor. Soon the tunnel opens to a vast cavern, and you can see the glow of the city in the distance. A long bridge spans ahead of you, made of lovely-maintained wood. You cannot see a single flaw on it. Up ahead, you can see the bridge princess kneeling on it, working on something. You can hear loud thumps in that direction that probably comes from a hammer.

>What sort of interactions have we had with Parsee over the years?

>You have an initial wave of disgust and consider going around her, but there's also the fact that person would have had to have crossed the bridge...
>You your relations with her have been distantly polite at best. The bridge princess is an arrogant snot, and you have no idea how anyone could stand her long enough for her to get the title of the town donkey. You've never really fought, exactly, but you would still prefer to not have to deal with her.

> Proceed with the plan with caution.
> Also do we think she'd be mad enough to attack us when we come back from the city if she didn't see us go in?

>You give her the bucket, smashing into her with such righteous force that she goes through the bridge! Sure you're a fugitive now, but man that felt so good!
>She really should just get over herself, that would make this all so much easier.
>You take to the air, nearly scraping the cavern top, and proceed. As you had hoped, she is too distracted to look up, and doesn't notice you as you float overhead.
>You don't think she'll attack you, she's caught you leaving in the past when you managed to sneak inside, and generally assumed she was elsewhere when you went past.
>Looking down, you can see the river that flows past the city, a major vein of the entire underground. Just about everyone gets water from this river, either directly or indirectly through wells whose water ultimately comes from this river. Thick stone walls surround the city, though there are a number of little gates in it to allow people access to the river. Past the walls are a number of residences to the west, and warehouses to the east. To the far west, you note the burned out area where all the evil spirits live, though you note a few of them floating around at about your altitude here and there over the city. Directly down the center is bridge street, where all the markets are, and you see the infamous Buddhist clinic that you had a scuffle with over your spare bucket going missing about a year ago. Further into the city is the pub district to the east, and a more homes on the west, as well as a few larger buildings. You've never gone in as far as either. Way in the distance, you can see the Palace of the Earth Spirits, which is practically another world as far as you're concerned.

Oh shi- this is where this overlaps with Nue Quest and I have to finally get started with those 10 bulky threads that'll take me weeks, isn't it?

> Do we know anybody else in the city that we could casually visit and ask for info? if not let's hover around for a bit (out of the onis' reach) looking for Nue in the streets.
