Dr. Gregory House (House)
You must diagnose your fellow players with obscure diseases. You must also tell your fellow players about how you broke into their houses/hired private investigators to dig up their dirty secrets/etc. You should be surly with no bedside manner what so ever. Accuse patients (players) of lying and be a jerk to the other players.



Buzz Lightyear (Toy Story)
You are a space ranger from the Intergalactic Alliance, stationed in the Gamma Quadrant of Sector 4 (wikipedia). You have recently landed on a strange alien planet full of giants. You must say "To infinity... and beyond!" and you must insist you are not a toy. Be comically serious - ex. set your lasers from stun to kill, and panic when/if your helmet gets damaged or removed. If someone says something sarcastic or metaphorically, take it completely seriously and literally (ex. if someone claims doctoc, say "I don't believe that man's ever been to medical school!"). Falling with style is recommended, etc.



The Parser (Every Text Adventure Ever)
You should play mafia as though you were the parser in a text adventure. Every time a townie writes a line beginning with the ">" symbol, you must quote it and respond. You should begin every post by quoting a previous and forming your post as a response to that "input", whenever possible. You must end your posts with ">". Whenever talking about your own opinions, do it in the third person, as though the other townies were talking to an Non Player Character. Alternatively, you can tell the players your opinions using the second person.
Examples:
Method 1 - 3rd person (you are player Y)
"Y says 'Hey X, your lurking out a storm over there, you want to talk to us a bit?
##Vote X'
You get the impression that Y's top scum pick is X.

Method 2 - 2nd person
"You notice that X is lurking out the day. You decide to press him on that point. You say 'Hey X, your lurking out a storm over there, you want to talk to us a bit?

Lamer - You include the following sentence in all posts: "I am a lamer."

Vote the mod - The mod knows who the scum is. But he's not telling you! You must vote to lynch the mod once per day.

Why do you hate my restrictions ;_; - Once per day, you must make a large, angry post about how post restrictions are evil. Extra points if it's over the top and includes non-sequiter rambling that mentions kittens

GLaDOS - Hello! And welcome to the Apeture Science Enrichment Center! You are GLaDOS, a malfunctioning AI programmed to test. You must talk about deadly neurotoxin, and how you are going to kill players with the deadly neurotoxin. You must talk about testing. You may not talk about cake more than 3 times a day, but you must also talk about cake (this is for my sanity, I'm tired of cakes being lies). You should be redundant. You should also insult players in a passive agressive, yet preferably funny way. You should talk about the companion cube.
Basically, roleplay as GLaDOS.

Lelouch Vi Britannia - You have a god complex. You should be overdramatic. You should use chess metaphores poorly. You should refer to yourself as Zero, rather than Lelouch. Light Yagami - You are Justice! YOU ARE GOD! You must write the names of known criminals in your posts several times a day. You must take a potato chip and eat it with as much drama as possible. You must come up with insanely overcomplicated plots to catch scum, often in ways that make no sense within the mechanics of the game. Psycho stalker - You must form a relationship with another player that includes obsessive love and a strong desire to torture and kill them in the most painful and vividly described manner possible. You should pick a new player each day. The player must be alive.

Post Restriction: Hi I'm scum please lynch me
You must lie about your role daily. You may not claim the same fake role twice. You must claim scum daily. You should also say "WHY ME OVER X" when voted, use TOWNIE RAGE, chainsaw defend someone, etc.
It's highly advised that you quote a huge wall of text and reply with one line, especially "me too".


Yugi
Post as if you have split personality disorder
Yugi posts should mention friendship a lot - pretty much constantly. They should include a lot of standing up for your friends, even if the situation is unappropriate for it. They should be unassertive, and not particularly confident.
Yami posts should mention the heart of the cards a lot. They should have boundless and absolute confidence. They should also focus on card game metaphores a lot.
When in doubt, you can always post a picture of which one the post should represent.


This post restriction has been passed down the Armstrong line for generations!

Post as though you were Marisa Kirisame. ##Steal both items and scumhunting techniques, lie, use ##Master Spark, feel free (but not required) to say Da-ze, break into other people's homes, collect mushrooms, and insist you are an ordinary magician.

Post as if you were Adam West. You must pretend you are a super hero, use Bat gear such as the bat shark repellant, etc. Also, post using BAT STUFF at inappropriate times and compulsively refer to a townie of your choice as either "sidekick" or "robin", and another townie as "Alfred". The goal here isn't to come across as Bat man, but to come across as a crazy actor who thinks he's bat man.
You must use the terms "batmobile" and "bat cave" at least once, and you need to make your own sound effects.

Might Guy (Naruto)
You must have an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm, even for trivial matters, to such an extent that it becomes rediculous. You must use the "Dynamic Entry". You must go on about the "Flames of Youth", and you must use the "Nice guy" pose (in the form of a picture - here's an example: http://media.photobucket.com/image/might%20guy/himino_hoshigaki/Might_Guy.jpg?o=5). You should refer to yourself as "Konoha's Sublime Green Beast of Prey". You must have trouble remembering your fellow players and you should go out of your way to state extremely obvious things about them. Try to emulate Might Guy's personality and mannerisms. You must make incredibly obvious statements.

Alright, here's the deal. Roleplay is still encouraged, and signups are still open, but I'm going to try something a little different. Something I can do with fewer players.

We're going to try out a game of popcorn mafia.

The Setup
Nightless; 5 townies, 2 mafia OR 7 townies, 3 mafia OR 8 townies, 4 mafia
The mafia pick a townie to be the first gunbearer.
The town discuss amongst themselves, and the gunbearer picks someone to target by posting shoot Elmo or similar.
 If their target is mafia, the target dies and the gunbearer keeps the gun.
If their target is town, the gunbearer dies and the target becomes the new gunbearer.
Repeat until all mafia are dead, or the mafia's numbers equal the non-gunbearing townies.

You win when all the mafia members are dead.
