Sometimes I wonder if I could have a hydra make cases for me because apparently even when I think they're good they aren't, and that combined with my good reads would equal awesome.

But I probably wouldn't be able to convince my partner my targets were scum in the first place.

Shadoweh is, if previous experience is a guide, terribly terribly obvious scum (quickhammering without a claim then blaming the claimed town doublevoter?  *sigh*).  That's kinda an asset in a player really~

On a completely different note, after having talked with Pesco about PX he said no official action would be taken on the past game unless people publically said something. Since I know many people said things in the QT's I'm opening discussion to if you wish to play with him again/ever.

px should probably be carded, but I don't think he should actually be banned from joining games. I'm cool with playing with him so long as he ~actually posts things~.

Instead of outright banning him, giving him incentive to actually post might be a better idea. More active players is always better.
And by incentive I mean something along the lines of "2 or 3 prods in one game = instant red card".

Public call outs are the worst thing.

My problem with PX is that he basically trolls every game he plays.  He played some games well, but then you get shit like Darker than Black and this.  If you're not going to play the game, don't sign up.  If you don't enjoy the game, don't sign up.  It's not hard.  So yeah, as long as he keeps playing as Third Party PX I don't really want to play with him.  I can't read people that don't play to their wincon.

I think in the past game, there were multiple people who employed the "strategy" of just catching prods and warnings and riding out the mod's refusal to incite them to play, so it'd be a right weird thing to only single out PX for this behaviour.

I was particularly annoyed because not only was he prodded repeatedly, but we knew his activity time. We also had a long discussion over new rules created specifically because we decided the penalty for a modkill was not large enough if townies were lurking as much as they did. Ultimately we decided to make the penalties much harsher, such that a town modkill would end the day with a no lynch and a scum mod-kill would reset the day.

As a player I can accept his presense, but as a mod I don't want to have to deal with a player that will have fewer posts than prods by the time they're lynched, assuming I'm not forced to modkill them first.

PX is being singled out because it's repeat behavior from him.

I remember only reading the postgame of the game before this one, seeing huh what complaining about PX behavior in that one too, and thinking to myself "why is he still allowed to play if he continues to act in a manner that people complain about him postgame?"

Just enforce the yellow card system like how it was done with Zakeri and I think that should be an effective enough deterrence.  Probably one every three prods.  Everyone who got banned so far had at least broken one setup/caused unimaginable hurt and I don't think it's fair to lump PX in with those goons.

I haven't taken action because I haven't been directly involved in a game with PX like this last one. Also because I expect you guys to create the environment and standard you want to play in. If you guys consider fakeclaiming as bad play, then you lynch the players who do it until it no longer happens. If you don't take such steps yourself, the people who do it take it implied that it is okay to keep playing in that bad way. Lurking is in the meta and it's up to the players to punish or encourage it. As the mod of RPG, there is no basis for me to take action on how a person plays the game.

But as a co-mod of the game, I said in the QT that PX's level of activity is unacceptable. The consensus is that he gets carded. Personally, I'm not interested in letting him join my mafia games or the mafia games that I'm party to running. If people still want to let him play, then I think it needs to be at the consent of half or more of the signed up players.

I'd like to hear from Hourai about what happened with his activity seeing as he was also on modkill threat. Prior to that I was getting the odd thoughts or comment about the game from him, which at least notified me that he was still trying to participate.

It doesn't work like that Pesco.  I might be able to get away with that as scum, but blindly policy lynching people as town goes against my wincon.  If I'm not playing to my wincon I'm no better than the people I don't want to play with.  There are levels of unacceptable, which is why I thought you created the card system in the first place.  Relying solely on the players to create the environment they want is simply not possible.

It's also incredibly unfair to Affinity that you're comparing his claim with PX's general behavior.  Affinity made a bad play decision, but I have no doubt that at the time of doing it he thought it would work and that it would advance his wincon.  Realizing your mistake afterwards does not mean you were trolling the game at the time of making the mistake.  PX has had repeated problems with trolling the game (and you can't tell me with a straight face he wasn't trolling in Darker than Black) and not playing to his wincon.  These are completely different things here.

And as town I can't lynch him for it unless I think he's scum because that goes against my own wincon.  You also assume that just policy lynching him will make him stop, which I disagree with in the first place.

He definitely muddled D1 of Midnight Crew Mafia, off of flavor and ActionDan's claim I would have suspected 'hey, I'm a bomb' and not insisted (in RP no less) that I have no clue what my role does.  I'd say "I don't know exactly what my role does, but I suspect x".  We got nowhere because of crappy play (then again, it was D1, so we probably wouldn't have gotten anywhere, but we had so little to go off of D2 other than reasons for voting PX)

If people still want to let him play, then I think it needs to be at the consent of half or more of the signed up players.

I don't honestly, but I'm not about to let one player ruin my fun.
