It was sold at Comiket, I don't really EXPECT them to know that there are numerous people outside of Japan even playing this game, enough to warrant the inclusion of global shipping or some such. It's not really fair to harp on them for it.

Anyways, I really should get back to playing the game, even though I have been distracted so much by other stuff such as Fortune Summoners and Rune Factory 3 and other comiket 81 games, etc. Even though I hate the fact that Twitter messages are the closest thing to a bestiary entry that the game has.

Hunting rare 3.2~3.6% drops from certain monsters (and those are high rates, some monsters have it at a 0.1% drop rate) or going out of your way to find rare Angel monsters for some cho-co-laet doesn't really sound like my definition of fun, even if chocolate is awesome. :derp:

Well, according to the JP wiki, I've got every shikigami possible up to this point minus the Metal Yukkuri and Yukkuri Tower ones.

Think I'll go off into the 3rd stratum at last tomorrow.

Got the Masamune in 10 tries from the Saladins it's not that bad, right now I'm going to try to get Youmu to learn Dimension Slash so, I can steam roll Eirin and Kaguya.

Edit: Does, anyone know a weapon that can kill the Metal Marisa yukkuris none of mine seem to work...  :ohdear:

Same deal as every Yukkuri - hit 'em fast, hit 'em hard.  Yuugi's Knockout in Three Steps is useful for getting three hits on your strongest character, especially if you buff them up first (Dragon Power is helpful).  Kanako's Meteoric Onbashira does pretty heavy damage as well if you're up against a group (like the group of three Sisters and one Hagure that appear in the third tower redux).

Not only that, you should have Murasa and one other shikigami at this point that can use D-net although I would have some field effects to knock off yukkuris' field effect counters. :V

Of course, this is only recommended for holding in a single mob since the game still has the Satori learning limit of one monster per group just like GoS.

There's no weapons that can do the job, but in general the only way to do 2 damage to the yukkuris reliably is to use skills that cost at least a certain amount and above.

Tower 2 boss down! And she was pretty easy, too. Now I have Satori. I know you don't need her set to anyone to recruit monsters, but does she get passives that increase the chance? Also, where are Daiyousei, Kisume, Lily White, Shizuha, and Koakuma found?

She doesn't get any passives that would increase the chances, although the majority of the monster shikigamis are easy to get in a few tries, which is a good thing.

Shizuha is at the Sanzu River (Archeron to be technical), Koukuma is in Desert area at the 3rd Stratum Area 1 is your best bet to catching her, Lily White is at the 2nd Area of the Final Dungeon after you beat Tenshi (Which you will need a lot of luck on since Tenshi is a BITCH to kill), Kisume is at Hakugyokurou best spot to encounter her is close to the entrance to the castle, and Daiyousei is at Makai 4 which is on the Second Stratum area 4 of it is your best bet to get her.

It's the area where you first arrive at from the Garden of the Sun or the Makai 4 of Second Stratum if I'm correct... it's should be Area 3, if not try the Makai from the Garden of the Sun route.

Question: Does the control Kaguya, trick from GoS work on DoD?

If so, then may I please have the name of the shikigami or shikigamis that has the Control skill?

If, not then... uuuuuuugh time for me to get my party up to par.

Finally got started on exploring the 3rd stratum.  Considering the new battle theme is all kinds of awesome, it was fun getting into random battles around the area.

Added a bunch of new shikigami to my list.  Monster ones to join me included the Dragon Maid (Yay!), Unicorn (Doesn't seem too bad), Dryad (Leafi Shield?  Yes please), and a Gorgon (Minus?  That sounds good I guess).

Touhou shikigami to join my cause included Alice and...PC-98 Marisa?  Ok ;P.

Alice seems to be pretty much a carbon copy of how she functioned in GoS.

PC-98 Marisa had to be taken down as I ran into her in a random battle while exploring the Forest of Magic.

First turn...not too bad.

Second turn...I threw up a Leaf Shield on Mokou since I had her use Provoke or whatever it's called to make the enemy have a greater chance of attacking her.

PC-98 Marisa?  Buffs her magic attack, then Energy Riots my team.  Mokou is fine, now how ab...oh god that just did 200-250 to everyone else D:.  Yuyu, Youmu, & Eiki all got OHKO'd Reimu survived somehow.

Considering I had no healing options available, I just decided to go all out.  PC-98 Marisa decided to do OH GOD COSMIC LINER WHYYYY...on my Mokou who still had 1 hit on her Leaf Shield remaining so she lived.  The other attack for the enemy this turn was thankfully not Energy Riot.

Oh yeah both Mokou & Reimu got LWs charged up so I fired them both off.  Thanks to everyone being back up and kicking, the enemy fell and I got it as a new shikigami.

...Not before the enemy got two more chances to possibly screw me over.  Unfortunately it only did single target attacks on Mokou & Reimu, both who had Reraise active so they weren't going anywhere soon.

Guess I'll be exploring some kind of misty area next, whee.

I want to say that the refight with the wind girl is pretty hard, but I'm pretty sure I was just unlucky against her spams. Also, it's funny how her spell card (or most likely every spell card) ignores the fact that Shield Wall is supposed to have priority.
Anyway, I guess I was caught off-guard by how she's not made of paper anymore, and even with every physical attack being super effective nothing was dealing absurd amounts of damage. She wasn't really tricky, I guess, she was just dealing as much damage and being as annoying as a boss should be.

I'm saying... Makai 5 on the 3rd Stratum should have Daiyousei, it's the area where you first drop off at, when you use the Hook Shot.

Hrm... also, I'm still waiting for the answer to whether Kaguya can be controlled or not like status effect wise?

That's not the only place she appears; I do seem to remember running into her before (I think in one of the second stratum Makai areas). It she just easier to run into there?

Lots more done today.  Explored another Makai section in the 3rd stratum, the Misty Lake,  some kind of lovely area, and the Sanzu River.

Ended up adding multiple new shikigami to my arsenal.  Cirno was the first to be collected, then I bumped into Koakuma at the new Makai area and added her, but not before I had to beat her in battle. 

How I didn't game over to Koakuma when I wasn't prepared at all for her, I don't know.  Only Yuyuko survived that battle thanks to spamming her one spear move which had a high priority for going off first.

Moving onwards into more areas, found a Medicine, then found a cave with a boss.  Once again I wasn't exactly setup to handle the fight more smoothly, but I still won on my first try.  Thank god my Yuyuko's Jinzo knew Dispel.  Boss loved to buff itself up real good.  Got a Suwako out of that one (Seems to have some pretty decent stats right now).

Sanzu River saw me getting four shikigami:  A Ninja, Osendaku or whatever its name is, Shizuha (Had to beat her in battle, not quite as determined to kick my ass like Koakuma), and Nue.  That last one is pretty good with an attack for Fire/Ice/Earth/Lightning to abuse Youmu's chasers even more.

Levels are getting pretty good now for my main team, around 28-30.

Huh, that boss actually gave me a lot of trouble, even with Dispel.  Good job.

Osendaku

Oshirasama.  Osendaku is her first field effect, which is useful for a few fights (coughtenshicough) as it can't be overwritten.

Also, kinda hard to find out which melee ability (the ones you learn by using your sword/spear/blunt object) is effective against which type of enemy. Is there a list for this somewhere?

It's mostly experience, or remembering things from GoS, since this game has no bestiary. For example, things that have huge eyes and birds are weak to stab, giants and plants are weak to slash, bugs are weak to blunt, and so on.
Chasers do "normal+" damage, which somehow end up being pretty strong in the end. And then there's Rune Chaser that deals "large-" damage.

Chasers are skills that count as sort of a one-turn buff, and makes that person "Chase" any attacks of the specific element with a followup.

For example, if Yuka uses Daiyousei's Ice Chaser, then for that turn, every time one of your characters uses an Ice attack, right afterwords Yuka will use a physical ice attack of her own against everything that was hit.

Well... not every time. It only activates twice per turn, although monster shikigami Peri has a passive to boost this amount. And for some reason the chasers do really high damage in this game.
