I didn't know there was a fang there. I found "Suppository" in Chaos Plain 3, though, if that's what you mean. Given the name it looks pretty obvious that it has something to do with Reisen,

Kisume is just a rare encounter. Apparently, after you recruit Satori you can recruit monsters as shikigamis, so you recruit Kisume as you would with any other monster, she's just special because she's a Touhou character. Or something like that.

Also, I would really really like an extract of that Maple Wise remix in stratum 2. It's completely awesome.

Yes, there is a Maple Wise remix. You can listen to it as soon as you exit the stairs room leading to the 2nd stratum, in fact.

Kisume is really easy to beat once you get the Silver Hammer, if anyone is having trouble with her. Also, pretty much all other random Touhou encounters (but Koakuma, I've yet to find her) are easy to beat by just spamming physical attacks.
Speaking of them, is PC-98 Reimu in this? Having only PC-98 Marisa seems unfair to me. No Mima seems somewhat unfair too, but eh, my bones haven't been feeling anything for a long time.

It'll happen automatically. Equipping Satori isn't required. Other monsters can join too; random chance when you beat them. It's not 1% stuff like GoS though, don't worry; chance does vary by enemy though.

Star Sapphire does.

Koishi and Beholder do too, but that's later on I think.

So I feel pretty dumb. I have searched all three strata's as far as I can and still have yet to find the hookshot. Could anyone possibly have a screenshot as to where it could be or a detailed steps as to how to get to it? That or is it related to beating any of the three girls in the towers?

That boss took some time on my part, I spammed electric attacks to keep earth attacks low damage.

Go to the first 'normal' hookshot point on the first stratum (which should've been a 2nd area above the first area you're forced to go to) and run into the point. You can't use it for anything than running into the normal points.

If that's what you meant by the hookshot not working, then welp.

There is one point in the second stratum that I can remember (in youkai mountain I believe) where you need the extended hookshot. As for using the hookshot itself, it simply requires that you be next to the point and tap/hold down the corresponding arrow key to get across.

Also, are the waves of patches done yet? I'm considering picking up the game again soon.

Not exactly - I think a lot of people are complaining that some abilities are a wee bit too powerful, like chasers for one thing. Considering 1.06 just came out...

Besides, I think we're in for numerous patches by the time this wave is done, anyways.

google translate on the japanese wiki works pretty well, and just about all the touhou character shikigamis have most of their data filled out (Stuff they don't get until high levels (and there ARE high high level passives even on seemingly-earlygame-limited shikigamis) is still missing for most)

Go to "Shikigami" and "By Type" on the left side, and Eastern Character has all the touhou characters organized by game and fight order, so even names you can't understand are easily identifiable.

The General category (Very incomplete and possibly outdated after some patches changing it's shikigamis) includes shikigami that are neither touhou nor monster-fight-recruits, which includes all promotional shikigami and a few others. And then there's Monster, which has the monsters you can recruit as Shikigami after an event that occurs, but the monster section is very incomplete (not all recruitable monsters are listed, and later ones in the game mostly don't have info filled out; most before the final dungeon have a good bit of info out though)

Serela isn't kidding when she says that there's also some passives that level up REALLY LATE. Like 65-70.

What do I mean? The -90% hp penalty passive that the metal king yukkuri shikigami has? At 65, it goes down to -45%, which is why not all passives at certain levels have been filled in yet.

In the end, this means some shikigamis might have some absurdly powerful passives that aren't known yet because they require level 60-70 to get. Unfortunately, the best exp rate gain is in the last area before the end via the highest tier yukkuris which give 30k exp each, so it'll take a good while to get all the high high level passives. At least you can actually equip 15 shikigamis, but due to the way that hunting highest tier yukkuris works, it's still limited in how many shikigamis you can actually level up, though.

From the Cheat Engine side of things, I haven't found a way to hack exp gain. There's a variable which controls the displayed exp of an encounter. That's got nothing to do with how much you actually get. Each character and shikigami gets their own variable for displayed exp gain (the one by their exp bar). It's also purely display and doesn't change the actual exp required to level up. Lastly I tried reducing the exp until next level figure. It's another display-only variable. No shortcuts to hard grinding.

She actually has the third highest INT and the fourth highest STR and AGI of the game, so she might work as a mixed glass cannon. I don't really mind her squishiness, and the fact that she's actually more resilient that Marisa or Patchouli is kind of funny. In fact, she's only a bit slower than Marisa, but has more INT and HP than her.

By the way, has anyone managed to beat

actually helped me a lot, too, that new passive ability might not be as good as before but it certainly helps if you have the correct attacks and shikigami (namely Hatate, but she didn't help me much in that fight because I forgot she existed).
