What is your favorite title theme?

You know, that song you scream by in five seconds? Yeah, some of those are pretty neat. Which one is your favorite?

Favorite is Memory of Foregathering Dream, but it's almost unfair to pick a fighting game one. As for the main series ones that are remixes of the main theme...MoF. It's a fantastical one that feels more vibrant than any of the other non-fighting game themes.

Double Spoiler's menu theme is nice, especially since it doesn't have the tune of failure after I finished rage-quitting.

SoEW or MS, hard to choose. The best for a windows game is the one from SA.
Also, I just realized that the song I thought was Ridiculous Game is actually Dancing Waterspray, so my favorite SWR original song is, well, Dancing Waterspray.

Sky of Scarlet Perception/Evening Sky, whichever you want to call it. Similar experience as Formless here, I boot up Hisouten real quick (to check on something for Soku), I hear the title theme for the first time and immediately go "wow this is really good". It's just way too beautiful.

My favourite title theme is Mystic Dream ~ Snow or Cherry Petal (PCB). It's the only reason I leave the game window unfocused (by clicking on the desktop, for instance) for at least one loop of the song.

I also like Newshound (DS).

As much as I'd like to say Evening Sky, it wore thin on me a long time ago when I was playing the hell out of the demo version to be ready for the full version come Reitaisai 5. So I liked it once, a while ago, but not anymore. Now, it's Awakening of the Earth Spirits. It's the only opening theme that's really engaging to me.

I'm gonna say Tengu's Notebook (StB) because dat rain, although Did you see that Shadow? (soku), though Mystic Square (durr), An Ice Fairy In Spring (GFW), and whatever the Ten Desires one is are worth mentioning.

IN's title track strikes a balance (and contrast) between natural and artificial sounds that sends chills down my spine. It's otherworldly (and fittingly so), and the additive time signature adds to the effect. When I was first trying the games, I popped one credit apiece into 6-8. But before I could get to that with eight, I just put down the keyboard and listened.

More than any other piece, Eastern Night is Touhou to me.

Sealed Gods from MoF. My favorite of all Theme of Eastern Story title screen versions. The mystical feel sets the atmosphere for the game perfectly, and if certain yt comment can be believed, it kind of hints of the incoming battles. And the waterfall part with audible drops <3.
Otherwise, Evening Sky from SWR. It's sort of a second main theme of Touhou for me, after Theme of Eastern Story, with all of it's remixes between fights, the pre-Iku and Tenshi battles being most awesome ones. Hell, SWR is propably the only game I've enjoyed so thoroughly for the music, the storyline AND the characterization.

For the non-fighting games, my favorite title screen theme is the Ten Desires one, Spirit of Desire.
Overall, I like the Hisoutensoku title theme, Did You See That Shadow?, the best.

There are probably many themes that ZUN scrapped for use in games, many that were rejected only on them not fitting the atmosphere. Sadly, with one exception, the only ones we are privy to are from the PC-98 era. So, which of these is your favorite?

Hakurei Shrine Grounds has always been a favourite of mine. Dreamy Pilot and Incomplete Plot are nice though, and oh god I think I prefer Flower of the Past to a lot of PCB's soundtrack (It's definitely not one of my preferred soundtracks in the series so)

Fun fact: In a fanmade remake of SoEW. they chose to use Sunfall instead of the standard theme
