Excessive word dump is imminent.

Occupation : Scarlet Devil Mansion Maid

Depending on the weather, she?ll wear ordinary socks or thigh highs. Her shoes are black. If it?s overly sunny, she may be spotted with either a hat or a parasol.
Personality : She is calm and collected. She treats everyone politely at first meeting. She is quite accepting of things. Depending on how you act, her attitude can change to friendly or fierce. A very neutral person.
Backstory : The daughter of Ayatsuya Haruka, she was born with white hair, pale skin, and pinkish-red eyes. This was quite surprising to not only her parents, but many of the adults residing in the human village. Gensokyo being the small place it is, was isolated from the extreme human diversity of the outside world. Due to this, they had never seen anything like it amongst humans from the village. Some would say that this wasn?t really their child, but a switched youkai child, while others would just plainly believe she was possessed and such. Haruka wouldn?t listen to them however. She knew that this was her child, not a youkai, and definitely not possessed.
As word spread throughout the village of this ?white? child, Keine soon heard of it and came to visit the mother and her newborn.
As the historian set her eyes upon the child she smiled assuredly.
She informed them that there was nothing wrong with the child. She wasn?t youkai, or possessed. She was a normal human, just like the rest. Keine informed them that long, long ago, one of Japan?s emperors was born the same way, with hair as white as snow.
Sora lived a peaceful life. She went to the school run by Keine.
Other kids weren?t as friendly as Keine had been though, either keeping their distance, or mocking her for the way she looked. However, Keine was sure to not let any sort of mockery go unpunished
While it didn?t feel good, she wasn?t too affected by their words.
It didn?t take her long to learn that she burns easier than others, so she tries to protect her skin however she can.
Year 148, Summer. Sora and her parents go on a trip to the Road of Liminality. The family spends a happy and exciting day having fun at the many stands, enjoying the festival like atmosphere.
As they are about to leave, Sora notices another path that splits off from the road of Liminality.
Curiousity over taking them, they head down the path.
As the walk down the path, Sora?s father starts to feel uneasy, like they should turn and leave immediately. Haruka says it?s fine, and that she can see the road?s end just up ahead.
As they near it, Sora?s face lights up.
There at the end of the path are beautiful flowers, cherry blossoms, tinted violet.
Sora excitedly speeds up, getting ahead of her parents. Her father calls to her, saying it?s dangerous.
As she approaches the trees, a shockwave of pulsating energy lashes out, blowing past the family like a large gust of wind. The wind takes with it the loose sakura petals, creating a flowery storm.
Sora closes her eyes as the wind gushes forth from an unknown source. When she reopens her eyes, she sees something unbelievable.
All around her are countless blood red flowers.
She?s astounded by what she sees, but it doesn?t last long.
Soon, she hears a scream and the sound of crying. She recognizes the voice and immediately runs towards it.
It was her mother?s voice.
The girl runs, her heart pounding faster than it had ever done before.
Soon however, she comes to a clearing. And what she sees there makes her freeze in terror.
There lying face down on the ground is her father.
A red liquid the same colors of the flowers oozes out of his still body. A knife lies beside him, covered in the man?s blood.
Sora?s vision blurs and her body trembles uncontrollably.
Then it notices her.
Standing in front of her mother is a youkai. The same red liquid plastered on the monster?s hands.
As it notices the little girl, it grins devilishly. The youkai says something, but Sora can?t hear it. It?s as if her entire body has shut down. The youkai grins widely as it switches targets to the small child. It walks towards her slowly, fantasizing it?s next kill.
Haruka pleads for it to stop, but it doesn?t relent. Without a second to lose, the mother picks up a rock and throws it at the youkai as hard as she could.
It hits the Youkai right in the back of the head, making it stop in its tracks. It spins around, glaring sharply at the woman.
As a sly grin creeps across the creature?s face, it mocks the mother, declaring that it changed it?s mind, and that she will be the one to die first.
Haruka?s heart pounds with fear. She tries to get up, but a twisted ankle keeps her grounded.
As the youkai moves closer to its target, Haruka accepts her fate and turns her attention to her terrified daughter. She shouts as loud as she can, telling Sora to run, escape, to save herself. Now.
Sora shakes her head weakly, tears beginning to stream down her face.
Haruka pleads to her child, only to be interrupted mid-sentence by a blow to the stomach.
The youkai mocks her, telling her to stop her whining.
Haruka coughs violently, trying to regain her air.
The monster?s grin widens as he drags the woman off the ground and into the air.
Haruka grimaces in pain, trying to breath to no avail.
The youkai tilts it?s head and says one last thing to her.
?How bout I tear your eyes out infront of your kid??
The youkai grins, showing its sharp fangs as it raises its clawed hand towards the woman?s face.
Sora?s heart skips a beat. Tears stream down her face without relent.
Then, the youkai?s nails meet her mother?s right eye.
Haruka lets out a scream of pain.
Sora?s body shakes violently, her heart feeling as if it?s about to explode with every passing second.
What could she do? She was only a child, a small, powerless child.
As the youkai withdraws its blood soaked claw from the woman?s right eye, it smirks slyly, preparing to pierce the next.
?I have to do something?.anything?!?
Then she remembers the knife.
And her mind goes blank.
As the youkai licks some of the blood off its nails, it laughs sinisterly. Just as it begins to raise its claws to the woman?s undamaged eye, it realizes something.
The child was gone.
The youkai?s eyes narrow, a frown replacing the sadistic grin that had covered its face.
The monster throws the woman to the ground and turns in the direction where the girl had been.
She was nowhere to be seen.
And the knife was gone.
---
As if time had been restarted, the girl appeared in front for the creature, knife in hand.
The youkai?s eyes widen, but it doesn?t get the chance to react.
The child puts one hand on the back of the knife, pushing it forward.
It tears open the being?s flesh, blood bursting from the new wound. The youkai falls back onto the ground, Sora following, all the while thrusting the knife into the non-human.
Sora lets out a yell choked by tears as she forces the knife into the youkai?s body with all her might.
Soon enough, the youkai stops moving, and the girl lets go of the knife. Only a part of its handle is protruding from its body.
Sora gasps for breath, gazing at the bloody monster in front of her.
As reality begins to seep in, she crawls over to her mother.
She tugs on her arm, trying to wake her, Haruka doesn?t move. Her eyes are closed, blood smeared across her face.
Sora calls out to her mother weakly, but there?s no answer.
Tears begin to form in her eyes as she calls out again, shaking her mother.
No answer.
Tears streak down her bloodied face. Her shouts dissolve into choked sounds, and then into crying.
Despite her crying, her mother doesn?t wake.
Eventually, her energy dissipates, and soon enough, she also falls asleep.
---
Sora awakes to the orange light of the evening sun shining into the small white room. As she gains her awareness, she realizes she?s lying in a soft, fresh bed.
As she sits up she sees another bed next to the one she was in.
There lay her mother.
Sora?s eyes widen and she leaps up from the bed. She rushes over to her mother and calls her name.
The sudden commotion alerts those just down the hall. The sound of approaching footsteps echo down the long corridor as they come closer to the room.
As the girl begins to cry, two woman come into the room.
The two woman are Keine and a silver haired stranger.
They inform her of what happened, and tell her of the current situation.
Keine introduces the silver haired woman as Eirin Yagokoro, a medical genius not from Gensokyo. She tells Sora that Eirin will be able to make her mother wake up.
Reluctantly, the child wipes the tears from her eyes.
Eirin smiles warmly at the girl, telling her that it won?t take long for her mother to get all better.
Keine then convinces the child to stay with her while Haruka was recovering.
So for the next few months, she (reluctantly) stays with Keine. During this time she attends the village?s school and is forced into helping Keine with the various tasks she performs day to day.
Year 149. Late Spring.
After Sora finishes her supper, Keine proposes they go to Eientei.
Sora was confused as to why she wanted to go there in the rain, but agreed nonetheless.
So after cleaning up, the two set out for Eientei in the heavy spring rain.
As they arrive, Reisen, a rabbit from the moon, welcomes them in. Soon after, Eirin enters the room and says that she?s been waiting for them.
Sora gives the woman a puzzled look, but her question is soon answered as Eirin calls for someone to come out.
Everyone looks towards the door that Eirin is gazing at.
And then Sora?s eyes widen.
Around the corner comes a woman with mid-length brown hair and matching brown eyes. As her eyes meet Sora?s, she smiles warmly.
Sora?s eyes light up, her mouth a gape.
Haruka, her mother, is standing before her.
Sora dashes into her mother, hugging her tightly.
A heartfelt reunion during the spring rain.
---
Year 160, Winter, New Year's Day.
As the years passed, Sora grew and matured.
Now at the age of 17, she?s contemplating getting a job.
As she walked through the village in search of one, she overheard something that caught her ear.
A job opening. Not just any job, but one at the famous Scarlet Devil Manor.
A position in the windowless manor. Where?d she?d not have to take such extreme precaution to do such a simple thing as walk about. It was perfect.
With this in mind, she hurried home to tell her mother.
As she came home her mother smiled at her invitingly. The two of them sat down with tea and discussed the situation.
Sora didn?t feel as though she should leave her mother here all alone, but her mother shook her head with a smile. She told her, that no matter how far apart they were, their heart would always be connected, and that if it made Sora happy, she could go wherever she needed.
With a final session of bonding, they hugged tightly, tears slipping down their faces.
Both of them knew it was inevitable. That someday, they?d need to part ways. No matter what.
So Sora prepared herself, to set out on her journey to the devil?s manor.
And so she did.
---------
She is albino. As such, she burns easily in the sun. When she heard there was a job position at the windowless manor, she took that opportunity to find a more suitable place for her to live. As albinos aren?t very common in Japan, she always gets odd stares from the people of the village.
Other : Due to her condition, she doesn?t usually go outside if the sun is too bright. Unlike the Mistress though, sunlight isn?t fatal to her and will only leave her with an irritating burn. Her weapon(s) of choice are knives/daggers. Though the concept of throwing knives at the opponent is rather strange to her. She?s not all that good at quantity, typically able to throw one, or at most two (one in each hand) at a time. Her accuracy is decent while her range is slightly below average. Her ability is ?Teleportation?, which allows her to teleport short distances. As her ability exhausts much energy, things like rapid teleportation are pretty much impossible for her.
