Well I thought Kay thought Nue was a seelie because he saw Nue with her wings. So now that Nue've hid that, maybe changing iris colour to something other than red to look less creepy, then Nue'd just look like some maiden with weird clothes from foreign lands hopefully?

>What's the general iris colour of people around here?

>Was people watching us out of curiousity for looking so out of place or catiously like we seem dangerous?

>From what you've seen, Blue, Green, and Brown appear to be most common. You haven't been paying a lot of attention.
>You are not sure why they were looking at you. ...Well, you can guess. But it didn't seem like people were particularly terrified. Or they hid it well.

>You nod and depart, taking a few moments to shift your eye color to a more bluish color. You aren't able to see your work to check, but you feel confident that you've selected something that looks natural.
>Stepping outside, you are relieved to feel a comparatively cool breeze against your face. No wonder Kay was in such a rush to get out of there, with all that armor he wears...

> Is there a large crowd around?
> If so, does it sound like anything other than gibberish?

>There are a few people coming and going on the street, some looking at you curiously. You can hear the general babble of the town around, but the only nearby conversation seems to be two men, one of them on the roof of a nearby building and another on the ground near a ladder, picking up some tools.
>Listening to them, the words sound largely like gibberish. However, you can definitely make out some of it; you recognize the words for "I", 'you', "and", "the," and other commonly used words. You think there might be more you recognize, but it's a little hard to tell, at times they seem to run their words together. You can't really understand what they're saying, but you have a strange sort of understanding of how they are putting it together.

> Pull out a rice ball and nibble on it a little bit, then meander our way over to the grocer.

>You make your way toward the grocer, nibbling on one of your rice balls. It seems to be a decently-sized place, larger than many you've seen in the Ancient City. You suspect it serves as a house as well as a store.
>Approaching the grocer, you note several bins filled with odd things. One seems to have a number of reddish vegetables with small green leaves on top, another has cloth bags of something; you thing it may well be white flakes that seem to dot them here and there. Over there are familiar cucumbers. Another bin contains more sacks, the white powder around them leads you to think it is some kind or flour, which would be curious as you have seen no rice in the fields.
>A couple of people are here, one of them looking at the reddish vegetables, and another peering into a bag of flour. An aproned and headclothed woman you presume is the owner is talking quietly with the person looking at the vegetables. Everyone seems to note your coming, then return to their business.

>Wide ovals, almost but not quite spheres, with a kind of dimple near the top where the leafy part is, likely where it came from the plant.
>Looking around, you can see what looks like an open front shop making various kinds of cords and ropes.
>As you examine the other shop, a woman in with a headscarf and a long, puffed out skirt approaches a bin close to you, and says, "I just cannot believe how cruel you are..." in the language you know.
