>You offer the spinel to the old woman, then given a short bow. She gives you a bemused look, then says something you don't understand before walking away, toward an open door between two shelves.
>After a moment, she returns with a block of wood about as long as your arm, a foot wide, and half a foot thick. It looks irritatingly heavy.

>You take the take the block of wood in hand, and find it is fairly heavy. Still, you should be able to move it around without any real problems as long as you use both hands, or balance it on your shoulder. Still, lugging it around is going to get annoying in short order.

Kilga <3 You remembered the mahogany for Arisu~ I mildly have no idea where we are to give commands, but I approve of the Nue X Mamizou turn this has taken!

I don't know about trying to ship the two (though I was planning on offering our place as a place for Mamizou to stay if she actually decides to visit Gensokyo). Nue doesn't really seem like the type to want a long-term commitment relationship.

Neither does Mamizou, doesn't that make them perfect for each other? =D

It makes them sound perfect for a Gensokyo ONS, and I would be surprised if they hadn't before.

>It's just the way she is.
>"Mmm, I wouldn't think that you would find much here to be exciting," says Mamizou. "Aside from Weyland's smithy attracting it's share of the gentry and a couple shops that cater to them, there isn't much to distinguish this town from any other farming village. We could try to visit the forest and see if any of the Seelie can be found to visit, but as a rule they tend to be reclusive and difficult to find."

>Mamizou nods, and starts to walk along the fence line not far from woodworker's place.
>The trip back to the forest is a little slower, now that you aren't riding on a horse. Along the way, as you pass farms with unfamiliar crops and animals, much of the time is spent with Mamizou giving you a basic working knowledge of the many kinds of grains that the people here grow, as well as an animal called sheep, whom you come to think of a sedate kitten equivalent of the familiar goat. As near as you can tell, the main food in this land seems to be buns of various kinds.
>As you draw close to the forest, Mamizou says, "There is a pond near here that a water sprite sometimes calls home. But she has been there less and less often, as the pastures have edged closer."

>"Just as I was about to recommend," says Mamizou, as she removes her headscarf to reveal her raccoon ears, and a leaf atop her head. "Though I would wait until we get a bit into the trees before you bring out those wings of yours, lest some shepherd in the distance witness them."

>You set the wood down, and add some muscle to your arms, and a bit to your shoulders and back, to help with the lifting. The results aren't too visually noticeable, but you're sure that you'll feel a difference once you lift something.
