Yeah, if you must use Marisa for the extra stage, then lasers is the way to go.

My own accomplishment: I reached Subterranean Sun again in SA Lunatic 90fps. I think I only mentioned the other times in the rage thread or something, so I'll put this one here. It's an achievement dammit. I'm getting closer each time. Even the crap runs are reaching stage 6.

I mean, doing this whole "Extra Stage at 90FPS" speal that I started was initially a way for me to practice for a(n eventual) perfect run, but I never expected anyone to take it to Lunatic levels. Major props to you and Naut for doing this on Lunatic.

Looking at your 90 FPS extra list, you're missing GFW, UFO (both forgivable)...and PoFV.

Also, I just tried IN hard 90 FPS, and for added fun, default starting lives.
Captured Marisa's last spell and also 'captured' the Stage 6 death fairies.

Aside that I was obviously not entirely serious:
The rule that StB can only include "new" characters is a bit arbitrary (and has been broken, would you call Reimu, Marisa or Suika 'new' from DS's perspective?). Why not include old ones if he has an idea for Medicines (annoying) poison or for coins, giant fists, dolls, just wants to use that sprite again whatnot? Given he has ideas, there are just so many ways to make the player circle around the boss until all the pictures are taken...

Yeah you are right. There are also many characters that totally didn't receive justice from Double Spoiler like Satori; Why doesn't she do more Recollection'y stuff. Byakuren; Why does she suck in this game? Where were Lily White and the Prismrivers in StB? Those girls had some of the more interesting patterns in PCB and yet they are just left out like they are not important. Unlike Letty Whiterock. Oh and for the hell of it, throw in Koakuma and Daiyousei as a two scene long tutorial stage or something.

PS: I would call the inclusion of Reimu and Marisa new from DS perspective since they weren't part of StB. Suika, not so much.

What we don't need is having half her stuff being pushover cards that doesn't do anything and isn't even all that interesting. Camera Shy Rose, seriously? And that Green one with the explosions isn't really the kinds of attacks that makes me think Satori when her gimmick is to recycle cards in a new and interesting manner. She could've taken a few spins on some of the more memorable scenes of StB.

Nah, I'm not up for any sort of 1cc'ing with handicaps. Early game is far too mindless for that and would kill the motivation almost immediately.

The part where you intentionally take as small photos as you can to avoid getting raped my knives. Though I guess that's not that much of an exploit more than a way to make it feasible. I went back and checked and found out that it was harder than i remembered it to be so I guess you win on this one. Though, its still not as hard as the Red Rings of Doom phase.

2: Byakuren keeps wrecking me.

EDIT: Well... I just tried it and I died twice on PSM. With SanaeB. With full power. But Formless, have you even considered how many bombs I can collect if I'm not picking up Reds?

P.S. Don't get burned out on UFO again though or you'll make me feel guilty, I just thought this'd be a good challenge since Touhou's run out of them for you. The conditions ... should be similar to that of Dodonpachi.

Yeah well, there are other games in Touhou than UFO you know.  :V UFO is perfectly suited for the skills I hold right now but that also means that the rest of the series is too easy because of the gap in difficulty. If nothing else, I want TH14 to get back to UFO level difficulty so that I can join in on the fun of a new game too.

Nah, don't worry. I might take a few stabs at it but I'm not promising anything. I'm much more interested in playing Fairy Wars since I haven't played that game for that much time and still holds a lot of cards for me to try and capture.... plus these patterns are the some of the best in this series.

If I knew I had a run that I could considerably improve and had the time and will to actually do it then I would wait. If not, then I would upload what I got.

I'd just go with the prettier one. Personally I don't bother uploading things that aren't as close to flawless as I can get them (or care to get them). Besides, if you're uploading it with the intention of educating the people who watch it you should use the one with the better execution of techniques and whatnot.

Random run of UFO Stage 6 Lunatic, capture Good Omen and the second nonspell consecutively, something I never would have expected given my deteriorated skills. I also finally recaptured Superhuman in a separate run. See the rage thread for why I'm even listing that here.

Hmm. No deaths on the first 3 stages of SA Lunatic at 90fps. The rest was crap (though I still reached the final spell), but I've never no-deathed the first three stages before. So close... one fragment short of an extra life too.

Another accomplishment turned tragic failure by Orin. I reached stage 5 with only one death. The death was of course to Satori's DBDB.
Then Orin tore me to freaking pieces. If I had simply been mashing the bomb button I would have done better. Next time, I suppose. Still reached Sub Sun and died during the last phase (again). But I can do this now. As long as I can avoid an act of unforgivable incompetence this clear is well within reach.

Got my hands on the PC-98 games recently, so I thought- 'Why Not'?

Got to Stage 3 on Eastern Wonderland, and found out there as no focus ~_~
Got to Elly on LLS... before dying just as I found out there WAS focus. I ended up continueing, and running out at Yuuka [Stage 5], and yes, I died to Elly's Scythe and Master Spark.

And I managed to 3 CC Mystic Square with Mima on my first try. Before noticeing it defulted to Easymodo  :3

Still an acheivement, considering I didn't die until Alice.

Still, I learnt what people mean by Byakuren being as much of a copycat as Marisa. All magic is rooted in imitation, like Martial Arts, I guess.

So I needed some motivation to keep trying UFO Extra at 90fps so I went to Drake and asked him how I could replace the player sprites for Sanae with Aya (being the fastest in all Touhou, of course).
If there's an actual accomplishment in that screen shot, it's of me actually managing another capture of Kogasa's first card.

SA Lunatic 1cc and Extra clear with ReimuB. I had also done both modes with ReimuC and MarisaC way back when. I'll add those when I feel more like it.
