Touhou Accomplishments - Unlucky 13th?

Hooray! I got my first legit Normal 1cc and it's on Ten Desires! My max starting lives Normal Imperishable Night 1cc doesn't count as legit, right?  :V

Also, I killed the bomb resource fairies before Miko because I felt like I had enough bombs, but I did save the life resoursers and used my trance power for that.  Just putting this note here for the curious. :3

Edit: I'll probably give the Extra Stage a shot later. This one does seem simple enough and I might have an easier time with it compared to Mokou's stage, Ran's stage, or (especially) Marisa's stage.  :]

Word of caution though: while the stage portion of TD Extra is easy, Mamizou is among the hardest EX bosses in the series. Probably second to Marisa, but then I haven't played Marisa so what do I know about that.

Mamizou...none of the patterns are THAT difficult (except the survival), but with so few lives to work with, she's pretty difficult.

I will eventually upload my (shitty) Touhou 07 Hard Mode 1CC replay after I finish editing and annotating the videos - considering it was my first attempt ever at PCB Hard, the amount of fail after Stage 3 is just hilarious.

SA Stage 6 Normal clear
Perfect Stage portion, captured Nuclear Fusion, captured Fixed Star, and captured Hell's Artificial Sun for the first time. Also, one bomb and two deaths. For 1. SA levels of difficulty, and 2. Stage 6 of said difficulty level average, this is good.

Now...

59 FPS is 98.3333% of 60 FPS, a 1.667% difference; as far as I can tell, I'd say that's negligible.

All of Route A1 Stage 1 cards Gold on Hard. First one was easy. Second was sorta tricky but not very much actually. It didn't take many attempts. Moving on to Stage 2 now. Iirc, that means Sapphire. And she is probably gonna be a bitch.

EDIT: Yeah, uh just went to attempt timing it out and I realise that you aren't circling Kaguya but some familiars.
To Glimmer, I can say this much. The trick is to stick within the area that Kaguya allows you. This is most tricky when you are passing from the lower-right part of the screen to the lower-left. When you need to pass through the middle of the screen, from one side to another, you should mainly be concentrating on the bullets passing through here. It shouldn't be very tough to pull off. I timed it out a long time ago and if memory serves, I was pretty much around your skill level when it happened. Just keep trying at it.

Tried counting how many times you can bomb in SA with MarisaA... maybe this should go in the derp topic?
Anyways, I managed exactly 150 bombs, but I dropped many power items, accidentally ended one power item dropping boss attack at max power and even failed to kill some power item dropping enemies, also down 1 extend I believe, but that might be required to get this many bombs. Doing things like collecting power items dropped by deathwaved enemies along with the power items dropped around the F item could milk more bombs too.

160+ is probably a good target for high level bomb runners  :V

Yep, have fun.  :ohdear: -edit- Replaced with a new replay with fewer mistakes, maybe 160 is a high estimate, but then again, many suicides are done with around 0.5 power left so it might be possible to make stuff happen with some planning.

So so. Trying to get accustomed to moving at this speed. Hard shouldn't be much trouble, and then I'll see about Lunatic.

Got two more Gold Medals on Fairy Wars Hard Route A1.

I don't recall the name of the first card but it's the first card the three fairies use. Very fun attack. Flying all around the screen to disable Sunny's back up made her a simple target but I don't think I'd use the word easy about the process of disabling said backup. Well, I got it in one try but it was still fun to do. It wasn't exactly soul-crushingly hard but hard enough to get my blood flowing. Which is good. I haven't experienced much of a rush out of Touhou for a long while. In fact, i think the last time was my perfect run of Koishi and that wasn't really intensity rather than a 'please let me have this perfect so I never have to play this stage again' kinda feeling.

Second card. Ice Dissolver. I don't really know if this is as impressive as I'd like to think it is. Its probably not but somehow I didn't feel entirely in control. Or rather, I felt unnaturally MUCH in control. Cirno didn't make one move that I didn't want her to. Which is odd considering how poor my eye to hand coordination has been recently.

I failed at any other of their cards but they all seem possible. Elfin Canopy seems like it would be smart to take out one fairy and then concentrate on dodging since I'm pretty sure the other support fairy gets more health when you take one of them down. I died here three times btw.


Star Sapphire was a dick as expected, though not as much of a dick as I had anticipated. Only one card struck me as downright BS - as in, use Ice or Die! - But given that the game is focused around the Ice gimmick I suppose its acceptable that not all cards are meant to be No-Ice'd. Acceptable but not ideal. The cards should've had been designed so that No Ice would be legitimately possible on all cards because of the Gold Medals.


Oh and I remember ranting about the stages back in the day but really, these stages are a bit lazy yeah but a lot better than the bulk of Touhou stages.


EDIT: Got the S3 midboss one. Got very close to Gold Medalling the Final Card but fucked up right at the end. Meh.


Also, tl;dr: Gold Medalling is fucking awesome and a lot better than TD so drop that game and go hunt for the gold!

Oh sweet Youkai Jesus I finally did it

It's not pretty. It's not even good. It's raw, ugly, and, frankly, I did HORRIBLY until Miko, where I suddenly must have been supported by Sanae's miricle powers.

Especially horrible from that first death on Yoshika to the end of Stage 5. I can usually beat Futo fine, let alone her 2nd nonspell.

Still, it's my first 1CC on Normal Difficulty of any Touhou game. I'm probobly going to clear it a couple more times, try to actually have a life left. Then I'll go back to Imperishable, seeing as I can get to Stage 6 on that.

After that? Who knows. Probobly EoSD.

Of course, for the lulz, I'll give Extra a shot.

ReimuA. I did consider ReimuC for the bomb, but I think I'm going to need some ability to capture things as well, and it generally takes only one bomb per spell anyway with ReimuA.

And more on this nonsense: I came very close to doing Hard at 90fps, so I'm moving on to Lunatic. I think I can no-death the first two stages, and maybe 3 if I can figure out some tricks. (Mt. Ooe is madness). Stage 4 I'm sure I'll die, but I've managed to capture Terrifying Hypnotism, and I think I can get consistent at it, with one bomb to each of the other spells, so I'm happy with my progress so far.
