Except supergrazing the 2nd phase is better.
Also, playing for score when playing for score means not shooting/grazing a ton of bullets (every game bar MoF), I don't really find that fun.  Which is why most of my scores are based on spell captures and point items than a ton of graze/score milking.
and no, I'm not score-running Ten Desires because that'd be boring, and waiting for the right time to shoot down nonspells in MoF is boring too, which is why I don't score-run in a nutshell.  I use a few scoring strategies (IN extra intro supergraze), but mostly I just go for survival.

hey look at this stupid stupid idea I had it's called 'let's 1cc normal touhou without shooting during stage portions including midbosses and then get cocky when we have 3 lives on the final boss and die twice early on leaving us with no lives until the final spellcard which we then capture anyway and i can't be bothered to capitalize any of this'

Came within 2 seconds of capturing the impossible survival card in Marine Benefit AGAIN. Also managed to cap both the first and last cards, and perfected the midboss to boot.

Woohoo, Hina's midboss spell capture, Sanae's first (hard) capture, Sanae' lunatic opener capture, and Moses Miracle (lunatic) captures.
Hina's midboss card I unfocused and moved under a bullet and stopped between 2 in a set without realizing (just that I unfocused, moved and didn't get hit), and Moses Miracle I hugged the laser wall on the right side near the end.

Only Nitori's final, Aya's second, Sanae's first and VoWG remain to be captured in MoF for me, then I'll have captured every spell in that game.

Perfect Stage portion, captured Nuclear Fusion, captured Fixed Star, and captured Hell's Artificial Sun for the first time. Also, one bomb and two deaths. For 1. SA levels of difficulty, and 2. Stage 6 of said difficulty level average, this is good.

meaning I captured virtue of Wind God.  No spell has taken more than 10 attempts to capture so far, so I have high hopes for this.

Hmm, this is as good a place to ask as any.

Ahem. I request a Ten Desires score.dat from a lunatic player. Because I reformatted my computer, and because ZUN has the best system EVER for storing score.dats and replays, I lost all my data for 10D, DS, and GFW. However, it's much more limiting when I'm not able to play 10D, so I'll only ask for that. At the very least, I want one with lunatic completely unlocked for one character.

Just came unbelievably close to perfecting Ran. Only one attack bombed, and no border breaks, all the way up until Kokkuri-san's Contract (at which I admittedly fell apart, but still).

I can't even believe I'm seriously, without any irony, thinking of perfecting an extra boss. I haven't even come close to beating Lunatic in any game (closest was getting to the Prismriver Sisters) and here I am seriously aiming to perfect an extra boss. Just that alone is one hell of an achievement, I think.

There was a bunch of stuff going on in the help thread about TD not long ago, so you might want to check there. Unless you just meant help with that one spell. In that case, "try to all vertical" within reason of course.

Gave TD another whirl on Normal and I made it to the final spell again. gotta learn how to take it easy AND I'd personally like to bring some more resources to that point as well.  :ohdear:

If this is the run you're talking about I think you should trance more than you should (i.e. life/bomb fairies before midboss Kyouko) because I'm sure you can refill your trance meter later on and use that again to get more life/bomb pieces.

Stage 3: Perhaps trance during Kogasa? There's no Spell Card in Normal so there's no huge time delay in between attacks.
Stage 5: I think you could've tranced during the six resource fairies before Tojiko and during the massive wave of resource fairies right before Futo.
Stage 6: Do NOT kill the fairies after the lasers right away. The spirits at the end of the line give you bomb pieces. The next wave of fairies give you life pieces. Those are good trance spots. I suggest going into trance mode and focus killing the spirits first.

An above average no focus no bombs Stage 4 Hard run.

I find this really, really fun, despite many parts of the stage being based on luck almost completely (the wall-stream formations, Momiji, her first and second spell). Well, at least when you try to no focus it, since the way you maneuver between bullets is completely random. But still fun.

Here, I perfect the stage (I usually fall to Momij or one of the wall-stream formations), almost capture her second spell, almost capture PWG and capture her last. The perfect stage portion is the real achievement, really, as her last spell is easy enough, her first spell requires precision that you cannot muster with no focus, the second spell is completely luck-based with no focus (and I captured it once!) and I got to 0 seconds with PWG a few runs ago. :/

I don't mind. This is so fun!

I timed out Mountain of Faith at the end because something like that is trivial for me.  I'm highly amused that the end of game bonus increased my score more than 250%.

Finally captured Subterranean Rose. On top of that, perfected Koishi up to Genetics, entered the fight with 4.00 power, and the only two spells I didn't cap I 1DNBed. Now THAT is what I call an amazing run.

After playing as ReimuB for so long I'm amazed at how easy ReimuA makes everything. Well, almost everything, lack of instant autocollect feels annoying in the beginning of the stage, but from Sanae on it's pretty much a non-issue.

The PWG-like one. I took 9 pictures to bring it the final phase, then timed out the rest without any more picture taking. It took about 40 seconds to reach the last picture, so I was dodging for a little under 3 minutes. It'd be nice if you could just start from the final phase. :derp:
