Shuusou Gyoku is one of those games that's probably awesome if you are born under that particular star that allows the game to run at 60FPS.

I can run UFO perfectly but Shuusou Gyoku. 30 FPS tops. So yeah Zil, that's probably good for you. But so is Cave's games so go and play them and beat my shitty Ketsui score.

Yup. That's why I can't play those things. I've been playing Ketsui and getting my ass kicked, but I need to learn where my hitbox is and where the enemies come from and all that. Wicked fun regardless.
As for those decimal games, I'll probably do GFW eventually, but I hate those fighting games. I can't even make the spells work in IaMP. Maybe I'll do the other path in HRtP, and IN final A while I'm at it.
90fps... I haven't done much at all with it, but I suppose I must sooner or later.

Also... DS 9-7 took me 244 photos. I thought that was bad but I guess it's pretty good.  (Yes, I'm being a braggart, I don't care.)

Considering I'm far from the level of skill needed to read and dodge most of the waves, doing that in so little attempts was crazy as fuck. And the red wave is complete and utter luck with this skill level, too.

I prefer to think of 9-7 as a joke scene, personally. In terms of skill level needed to clear it, the level I would say needed to do it consistently is "superhuman." There's far too many random factors moving at too high speeds for any human to consistently survive it long enough for three shots. It's pretty funny though, you have to admit.

Believe me, I'm in the same boat. It could have just as easily taken twice as many tries. I'm not sure what ZUN was thinking with that scene, or if he was even thinking at all. Like Donut said, I couldn't even get mad at the thing, it's just so ridiculous it's funny. (Of course, if it took 1,000+ tries I might have been a bit more...upset.)

Agreed. If he had been serious about it, he would have set the amount of photos required for the clear higher than three. With three photos, you can clear it with luck in a reasonable amount of time, more than that would become rather difficult. At least I don't think he'd actually use what is widely considered to be the hardest scene of Shoot the Bullet and raise the difficulty even further while being serious about it, I think it worked well as a joke.

Haha, congratulations. 5+ hours is a lot, but I guess you can just blame it on bad luck. Then again, I spent, at the very least, four times the amount of that on the original version in Shoot the Bullet. Granted, I hadn't even cleared all games on Normal back then, but persistence always pays off. Always look at the bright side - the longer you take to accomplish something, the more rewarding the eventual success is.

Just picked up EX-1 and EX-9 in DS.  Just have most of 8 and 12, and a few from 9, 10, 11 and EX to go.  Oh and 7-7 but that one annoys me.

I finally captured Seiga's Overdrive with Sanae (now the only thing I have left in 10D Spell Practice is Yuyuko's Overdrive with Youmu)

it only took about 2 hours with absolutely no breaks or pausing whatsoever (I have no idea but I just didn't feel like stopping) which equated to roughly 350 tries in a row

I mean I captured it in 64 tries with Reimu, 71 with Marisa, and 29 with Youmu (because lol yoshika dies), but no, Sanae is evil, evil. Over 5 deaths happened after Seiga blew up.

I randomly tried this and got 5 waves first try by pure luck.
Also I tried TASing 9-7 for revenge and found out it was more cheap than I thought-a faster bullet will often hide behind a slower one for a snipe.  Explains about 100 of my 500 or so failures.

Hearing Okuu's theme and seeing Kefit's perfect run on Youtube where basically what got me into Touhou in the first place, so this is something I've always wanted to do.
I'll upload it on January 26th, exactly one year after I beat her on Easy mode for the first time.

I've never seen this done before, and I tried to do it back when I wasn't very good at the games.  First try after failing to capture it normally at 33 seconds left (last second of the blue phase ;_;)

Although upon checking the uploader, I see Nereid did it before I started playing Touhou...but I didn't know that until after

If it counts when you defeat Yuuka's Sleepytime form (Fifth stage) but fuck up in the (supposedly) last stage, I 1cc'd Touhou 4 on Normal. (It shows up as "ALL" on the scoreboard.)

Also, I beat Stage 5's boss on my very first try. Fucking hate Reimu Hakurei though. (Playing as Marisa's Magic Type Shot)

Imperishable night extra stage 1.5 billion!
perfect stage, except a deathbomb on Keine's first.  grazed the opening of the stage, didn't safespot the death fairy, played for time points a bit on Mokou without stalling, and proceeded to expend 3 bombs on the rings of death.  I then died and bombed Fujiyama Volcano, then deathbombed and died to Possessed by Phoenix, before capturing Hourai Doll and not seeing a path through the second wave of Imperishable Shooting.

It was good enough to be my best run ever on the stage though, finished 4/3 but outscored my Border Team record by 50 million even though that finished 5/0 and survived longer into Imperishable Shooting.

In the same run as a 1DNB endboss Nitori.
In which I captured her 2nd spell for the first time ever.

I also got Hina's last 2 in a row when I'd never captured either of those before (again bombed for safety every run)

You can try it. It should be safe in an actual run - just bomb if your eyes suddenly lose track (often when it "changes")
Basically, you find a lane between the blue and green bullets and then dodge between the purple and yellow bullets.
When the purple+yellow bullets move out of sync with the blue/green lane, you move and find another lane.
Lane changing is the most difficult part since you have to dodge _and_ find/move to a lane at the same time.
