Ayayaya! I wish Aya would win. I've decided that she's a bit more moe than Yuyuko.
Also, Remi's been doing pretty poorly so far considering her easy opponents. I think Nitori's got her.

Aya's one of my favorite characters, but I haven't really thought of her as moe (and Yuyuko is more moe).

in 2007, I think there were an avg 300+ votes per character per match... why is this one much less popular? Are we letting people know this is going on? -_-

I don't see any of the matches being close at all besides Meiling vs. Patchouli. Though I am surprised Aya is keeping up as well as she is.
This one - Aya has some momentum after knocking off Ran, but she's running into someone who outclasses her in both fanon AND canon.
Youmu vs. Orin - Think of who's hype train is bigger between Chen and Orin. Now remember that Youmu slaughtered Chen.
Nitori vs. Remi - Nitori rolls here, there's been a lot of backlash to the SDM taking form.
Flan vs. Sakuya - Flan was going to win regardless, but this whole business in the last match just seals the deal.
Kogasa vs. Okuu - Kogasa just knocked off Yuuka freakin' Kazami with authority. Okuu struggled with a Sanae who was getting anti-votes.
Momiji vs. Mystia - The only way I see Momiji losing here is if the Marisa revengers show up with a lot of mercenaries. It's the ears.
Meiling vs. Patchy - The only one that could go either way, they both have about the same amount of support so far.
Alice vs. Hina - I would love to see Hina pull an upset, but there are just too many Alice fans.

A couple reasons.

- I think the biggest one is the lack of presentation; the website is entirely plain text with the front page being nothing but legal stuff. The last contest had a website that was a lot nicer to look at and had pictures of the characters.
- The one-hour wait time is a big turnoff to a lot of people.
- The last Seimoe had an imageboard for campaign threads to drum up hype; this time we've simply been pushed towards poosh for this purpose, which has wisely been ignored (every thread related to Seimoe that has been posted there has been met with apathy and hostility).

Was the conflict between wikia and the current touhouwiki part of the cause?

Trolls rule poosh with an iron fist because there is no moderation of any kind. If MotK or anything related to it - such as this contest - is brought up there, they won't give us the time of day because recent events (best left undiscussed) permanently destroyed MotK's reputation there.

The contest has been mentioned in various other WTC places, it just hasn't garnered that much interest. I think points #1 and #2 have more to do with it than #3.

I voted for Yuyuko this round, but I have no idea who to vote for the next two matches and the Kogasa vs. Utsuho one. Youmu and Utsuho are some of my favorite characters, but I consider just skipping these matches altogether.

Or maybe I should just flip a coin again.

It's not really fair to compare the vote counts directly. It was fairly easy to cheat in the previous Seimoe. Mine is a lot harder to cheat at.
The one hour delay may seem excessive to some people but Saimoe does it too and sees far higher vote counts.

I think, I will vote for Youmu. But Rin has that whole catgirl thing going on, which is very moe. She gets a few moe points off due to the stupid unnecessary human ears, but that doesn't make her a clear loser yet by far and...

Goddamit, this is a hard choice. The hardest in the entire contest so far.

I figure people are going to vote for whichever one they feel is more moe.
Personally I don't see the appeal of Orin.
Besides, if people are going to be swayed by people posting/spite voting/vote for the underdog, then it's not an objective vote as it should be. So if my post changes someone's decision, good job, you let someone decide for you. Nice job not showing free will.

tl;dr, Decide for yourself without being influenced by the current standings (Why I think current standings should be hidden and revealed only at the end of the match but whatever), people's posts or the outcome of previous matches.

Ayup, all about Nitori this time. I was surprised by Youmu's destruction of Rin though. I knew she'd win, but that was harsh. I wonder if Youmu might be able to beat Kogasa. Hopefully one will take the other out next round and give Patchy an easier path, assuming she survives this round againt Meiling.
