:ohdear:. How is this possble? I understand that Okuu might be cute in some versions, but... I mean, she's the villain who got the closest to cause a calamity in Gensokyo, and a nuclear one at that, with little excuse. I couldn't overlook that even if she wasn't against Sanae.

I think we are forgetting that Sanae had the horrid audacity to be the third playable character in UFO even though she isn't a perfect and elegant maid. Yes, Seimoe is the place to let out this most petty of hatreds.

Not counting the obvious logic error (two games' gap and Sakuya being playable in more games), I'd prefer Sanae anyway if only for the fact that she's not a human from biological standpoint only and most certainly won't butcher you and serve as a food for an unstable vampire. :V And it's not like shottypes and their owners mean much - the real gameplay differences and particular combat styles is showing in fighting games and phantasmagorias.
I'm kinda disappointed with the current results though. I'm pretty sure Okuu was not meant to be moe either, being way too trigger-happy even in Soku. Badass, yes, but not endearing.

The amount of butthurt towards her baffles me. From the comments I believe there were at least a few people who voted against Sanae out of spite, given the s-word comments. Oh well... :colonveeplusalpha:

Gah, seeing Sanae loose is kinda disheartening. Though I said this contest was a bit on the even side. So I could of seen it going either way. Still let's see that leaves one 1 major characterter and one "former" major character from the major character roster......

Crows and Foxes

Aya Shameimaru vs. Ran Yakumo

Aya Shameimaru

Pros: Tengu, news reporter, photo journalist, confident personality, "Ayayayayaya", nice design, very fast, well known in Gensokyo....,

Cons: ...but also well disliked in Gensokyo, often consider very persuasive, possibly perverted (fanon), often viewed in a similar light due to her returning chances in Touhou games (AKA: Slut)

Ran Yakumo:

Pros: Motherly personality, care taker, Kitsune, 9 fluffy tails,

Cons: Kinda bland in terms of character development (she's pretty much been Yukari's doormat since first introduced), Suppa Tenko (fanon meme)

Advantage: None

This is a another case where I don't see a real winner that dominates.

Both characters to my view are rather bland, since they both have limited moe appeal here. It's mainly gonna ride on traits and personality preferences here. Aya's newspaper savviness and cocky personality, versus Ran's caretaker personality her tails.

Really that's about all I can say here. They really don't have much to them from my analysis, this I call this a bland match....

If I had to pick someone for this it's Aya, cause I tend to favor the papparizi type. That's it...

As much as I hate to admit it, Ran has this one in the bag. Aya's popularity has dropping like a stone over the past three years while Ran gets plenty of residual popularity from the recent bkub-led renaissance of all things Chen.

This one's weird. Neither have really moe personalities, so I'll probably choose Ran just because of her appearance. Aya might have been a very moe character if she were less successful at what she does, but she's too kick-ass to be moe as it is.

I think Ran will win by a bit, but I personally prefer Aya. Her color scheme is quite moe, and "Ayayayaya~" just puts her over the top.

Even if Aya loses here, I'm really glad her fellow bird youkai made it past the last round!

OK that match was highly amusing despite the charters being bland, this was actually the most heated battle I've seen in a while! Fun to see Aya pull an upset!

"Lolis with Fancy Wings and Weapons"

Nue Houjuu vs Flandre Scarlet

Nue Houjuu

Pros: young appearance, nice color scheme (black/ red), weapon wielder, snakes, unique spell card with many fancy references, cute / mischievous personality, two unique set of "wings" (red sickles / blue tentacles), Zettai Ryouiki! (Grade A type), fact she hides her true form may debate what her true form may be like (for the better), character development

Cons: Apperance may look kinda gothy, fact that she hides her true form may make people debate wether this is Nue's true form (for the worse)

Flandre Scarlet

Pros: young appearance, nice color scheme (pinkish white/ red with blonde hair), weapon wielder (kind of a weird one), vampire, unique spell cards , "christmas tree light" wings, cute / destructive personality, shut in, been around longer than Nue.

Cons: destructive personality can be a turn off for some, also the fact she's been a shut in pretty much post game (canon wise) gave her of character development

Advantage: None!

This is another battle where everything about the 2 are every even! But this time, it not their traits I'm discussing, it's their physical appearances!

Both are young, both wield weapons, both have really weird looking wings! This is what I think is a very good reason why I'm marking this as a very even match! And even with the notable differences in their characters, personalities and traits, they just sort of balance out each other!

You don't get matches that are more even than this!

Really this is the kinda of match I find amusing cause at this point, it's going to really tally down to personal preference to really decide who's going to come out on top!

So where do I stand on who I vote for?

Well I'll explain in detail:

Nue Houjuu...

Why? It's mainly because of two things I find more of a moe attribute than Flandre.... Zettai Ryouiki and her black and red color scheme. Black and red are a personal favorite color of mine which is why I love Nue's design a whole lot so it's the main reason why I lean in her favor, course the Zettai Ryouiki is also a wonderful touch for Nue, it gives her a rather nice appeal factor compared to Flan.

That's really about it, I don't think I could explain it any more different than that. But yes, personal preference are what I think will be the deciding factor here.

I'd hate to see Flandre take this one, but in all honesty I can see that as being exactly what will happen here. Unless Nue has more fans than I give her credit, Flandre is going to take this one easily. I know I'll be voting for Nue though. Flandre has an anti-moe personality and the only thing she has going for her in my opinion is her design, which I still think isn't as good as Nue's. Plus I'm still bitter about her wrecking Cirno in the first set.

Oh well. I sorta expected popularity to rule the day and flush out Vulpes Calculata. Didn't expect Ran to get far in the first place and I guess I'd be more miffed if someone I thought had a better chance like Youmu or Kogasa lost instead. Still, Aya and Ran were separated by about 110 other characters when I went through an old tohosort result, so I was pulling for Ran a bit more.

I'm throwing all of my apathy at today's match.

Honestly surprised by the most recent result. Very pleased, but surprised. I guess Ran doesn't mooch off of Chen as much as I think she does.

This one today seems even more open-and shut than the other one though. However much shock there was seeing Aya win, there will be about 10 times more if the returning character in UFO that wasn't Mima can take down Flouder's memetic juggernaut.

For me, Flan is both cuter and sexier, so the choice is obvious.

But really, I'd say Flan's personality is pretty damn moe, while Nue just seems kind of mean. I too would like to hear how Flandre's personality is "anti-moe."
(And yeah, if Flan doesn't destroy Nue in this round I'll be pretty amazed.)

I disagree entirely. I got a very different feeling from her dialog and especially her profile that suggests little more than a naive lunatic who's "Cakes and stuff" are just gussied up prepared humans. I can see how she can get the "neglected child" appeal but if that were all there was to it, Medicine would be just as popular.
