I think I'll vote for Youmu, although that may seem like favoritism, her being one of my favorite characters and all. But similar to Lily, Yoshika is a bit nondescript to me (not as badly as Lily, though) and she is the only other one, I'd consider. Youmu has the whole "tries to be serious, but is actually pretty cute" thing going on. And then there is the dynamic with Yuyuko, who always reveals Youmu's cutest sides.

Yoshika, on the other hand, is pretty cute and a big eater. Well, and she looks also rather cute with Seiga, I guess. Not enough to make me vote for her, though.

Aside from looking cute, but not all that much so, I never saw anything moe in Satori. I can barely believe that she has so many votes already, while Yoshika has none.

Goliath Doll... Yeah, right. I'd rather pick Shanghai and I wouldn't even vote for that one.

Such is true of nearly every single canon appearance Youmu has ever made. And she has made as many as Remilia, so that is a lot of canon moe. She is at once the most dedicated servant and the one least regarded by others. Her attitude toward her duty is that it doesn't matter whether she likes it or not (the answer is generally on the side of not), but only that she obeys the commands of her Lady. Now combine that with her tendency to jump into things without thinking and try to overcome them with raw effort...it is a recipe for adorable situations like the CoLA chapter cited before. Or Ghost Team's IN scenario. Or both her Fairies appearances. Or her Aya article. Or her SWR scenario. Et cetera. For her part, Yuyuko loves to put her samurai's seriousness to the test, but she does so without the cruelty of certain masters, so we actually get to see Youmu's reactions, which are, of course, moe as hell. The visual design being incredibly cute as well is just the cherry on top. Youmu is pretty much a Moe Elemental, and I believe there isn't a single Touhou who can stand against that.

Satori is indeed moe. So much so that she would win group 12. She just got a really shitty draw.

Seems that it slowly becomes a rather even match (between Youmu and Satori, that his). That promises to be exciting.

Meanwhile, Goliath Doll has now a vote, while Yoshika still has none. I'm actually a bit tempted to cheat (not that I have any means to do so), just to get her one out of pity. I think being from Ten Desires, and with that a pretty new character, puts her at a disadvantage, since she isn't established like Youmu or even Satori.

Also, I just noticed that in the end Unzan's hitbox didn't manage to get more votes than Unzan himself.

That too. I always thought Yuyuko sent Youmu out for incident resolution and treated her in such a way so that Youmu could see the world a bit and to help her ease away from her glaringly straight-laced and serious mindset. I thought the whole IN scenario thing was meant to show this along with Yuyuko's sense of humor. Regardless of the situation and outcome, Youmu winds up looking pitifully cute anyway. She DOES get a lot of tough love from Yuyuko, though.

Really, Yoshika's schtick relies heavily on how much of a :derp: she is. If you think that such a characteristic gives her a unique and funny personality, then she can work for you. If not. then you probably won't find her as interesting as others.

I was going to vote for Satori, even though Youmu is my most favorite character, but after reading this and your earlier quote I'm going to vote for Youmu.

Yeah Youmu's win here was almost a given with her constant returning. But at least Satori stood up pretty well which I'm glad...

Round 31 prediction:

At this point, there is no serious competion for this round and possibly the next.

Remillia has this one in the bag literally. Charisma, youthful vampire, elegant spoiled child personality. And she's been a reoccurring charter on the most point.

The only person who even has a chance to be competitive is Yumemi, but I doubt she'll even come remotely close to winning. Yeah this match very one sided and Remillia will be dominate.

I agree, but Remi may very well struggle in later matches. I think it's safe to say that she is amongst the more divisive characters in Touhou, and if you take any given fan, their opinion of her is far more likely to be resoundingly positive or negative. The ones who enjoy her most will certainly support her, but there will almost certainly be detractors who will actively vote against her as well. Characters like Aya and Yukari are similar in that they tend to be on the divisive side and could receive similar treatments to varying degrees. I'd venture a guess to say that characters like Meiling, Kogasa, and maybe Hina, who are more difficult to dislike from a general perspective, are much less likely to get anti-votes in the next round. If these characters are matched up, it could result in a couple dozen spanners in the works for the more divisive characters.

Even if she weren't a popular recurring character, Remilia still has a clear advantage over the others: She is a Windows character. With barely anybody giving a fuck about PC-98 characters, her victory is a given.

As hopeless as it is, I still voted for Kana.

My prediction for the final round of the first set of rounds:

Ran most likely is going to have an edge over the others. Mainly for being part of the Yakumo house hold and fox tails thus appearing to many. And her motherly personality in the fanon-verse.

The Yama has more interesting traits in the fanon-verse (petite sized, big authority) than she does in her canon -verse (decides your soul's fate wether it be heaven or hell) . She probably won't edge out over Ran.

Course my assemble Dark horse for this round: Mima! Why? She's is probably the most recognized PC-98 character out of the entire PC-98 roster. She's the only one who is known to be both fearsome and awesome but of course also the ONLY character who most of base WANTS to have come back. But no matter what, ZUN never allowed her the chance.

Course because of the fan's desires, she may actually pull a surprise attack here.

Course my view says regardless Ran will probably prevail by the end of round.
