You make turning this into a popularity contest sound like a bad thing.

The last Seimoe we had was in 2007 according to Kilga. With that the case, then I'm not sure we have ever had a popularity contest for western fans, and it could easily be another 4 years before we have another contest like this. I'm far more interested in which characters us westerners like the best than which ones we think are moe. I know what moe looks like. I know Chen and Momiji are moe incarnate, and I don't need a moe contest to tell me that. But I don't know if Momiji is more popular than Reimu, and that would be fascinating to find out.

Now, if we had a popularity contest once in a while that would be a different matter. But we don't have them, and this is the closest I may ever get to having one.

Well that's actually a good point. Now I can't help but think that a popularity contest would be more interesting then a moe contest. I hope we have one in the future, though for now I'm still voting moe. (My favorites tend to be the moe characters anyway, so it doesn't effect my voting much.)

I actually see that this is actually being quite the opposite, it's actually people who feel is more moe than anything. Otherwise, we'd see Reimu and co blasting through all these polls.

Now I would say the reason why the PC-98 characters aren't getting any love is because they're still pretty unknown to some people. Not all, but some, which is greatly hurting their chances here.

Nearly every windows character is more popular than nearly every PC-98 character. The best PC-98 has going for it is Shinki and Mima, which are I guess more popular than like Kisume and Hourai?

Both Mokou and Alice are pretty moe I'd say. I guess younger Alice is more moe than older Alice just becuase she's younger, but as far as I'm concerned, youkai don't age, and they're the same character. I don't have to worry about that nonsense though, since I'm voting for Mokou. Hopefully the Alice voters will be divided between the two options. (yeah right)

Cute and moe aren't the same thing. Alice has a lot more depth as an adult and is more endearing as a result IMO.

I'm far from an Alice fan, and I voted Mokou, but there are plenty of nice reasons to vote for Alice like if you find her cowardice moe, or you think she looks adorable, or simply that the whole doll thing is cute and stuff. You know, things that are actually about Alice. Using Alice as a cheap substitute for Marisa just gets my goat. No matter how hard you ship them, they still aren't the same person.
