>How much of a curvature can we readily give to our danmaku's path? Could we launch a spread such that they converged from different vectors, and not all frontally?
>What terrain obstacles are there in the nearby vicinity?

>You can add some curvature, but you're better at straight shots coming at different angles. You could make such a converging spread, but pulling it out on the fly would either take a little time, or a significant cut in what you're capable of.
> There is a wooden fence behind you a little ways, bordering a pasture. Across the road; as it were, is another wooden fence. Both run parallel for some distance.

>You could, but it would take a moment to set up, and it wouldn't be as dense as your favored attacks
>You cannot attack with your trident and danmaku at the same time, but it's trivial to fire off the latter, then follow with the former. Though you do run the risk of disrupting your own patterns.

>You fly backwards as the knight charges at you, until you hit your legs against the fence.
>You create a about a dozen large bubble shots overhead, but he does not notice, as he is too busy coming after you. A fierce, dull ache erupts in your stomach as his shield smashes into it, forcing you to double over.

Ouch. >_<

>We are holding our trident with our right hand, right?
>If he is following up with a stab with his sword, attempt to stab his sword from sideway to trap it in the trident's prongs.
>Hold onto the shield with our left hand, push his shield down and use the reaction force to jump up (levitate if necessary) to a height higher than the fence, and deliver a kick to the side of his head with our right foot.

>You try to catch Sir Kay's sword with your trident as he stabs at you, but you are not able to adjust you grip on it quickly enough with one hand. You are able to kind of knock his arm away, but you still feel your side ignite in fiery pain as the blade catches home.

This doesn't look good. :ohdear:

>So basically, Sir Kay is squeezing us against the fence with his shield, while his right hand stabbed his sword onto our left side? Is he still holding onto the sword probably even if we knocked his arm away?

>You summon some Danmaku right in his face. His shield comes up, and you're able to ignore the fire in your side long enough to kick him away before be can strike again.
>The bubble shots you made start to reach the ground, drawing his attention upward for a moment and putting a scowl on his face.

> How are we feeling psychologically?

>Nothing unusual, given the circumstances. You are rather used to be challenged at random, but typically it involves danmaku, rather some guy coming at you with a sword.

>For that matter, do we have any sense of how deep the injury was?
>As a youkai, how effectively can we shrug off physical wounds?

>It feels like it didn't hit anything vital, but was deep enough to hurt pretty fiercely, though that is fading a bit.
>You can recover from them pretty well, given time. You can also endure them better than humans, but you aren't sure how much better as it's not the kind of thing you tend to go around and test. You did manage to slam into Sanae's flying machine and more or less walk away from it, though.

>If his attention seems divided between the us and the rain of danmaku, let's press the attack
>Another burst of danmaku towards his face, ideally positioned in such a way that his shield cannot block both it and the shots from above.
>If we can see a opening for a trident strike at a joint or to treatening one at his exposed face, take it, but don't attempt without a clear shot; focus more on defense.
>If he moves forward to pin us, or attempts to otherwise engage frontally in a way that would be difficult to parry, instead fly off the ground and deposit ourselves on the other side of the fence behind us. (Obviously still attempt to deflect an incoming sword attack while doing this). Err on the side of lifting off sooner, rather than later.

>You send out more danmaku toward his face, using a favored pattern that sends out shots in two circles as well as a directed line. This draws his attention back to you, forcing him to move. While he is able to get around the bubble shots, which you think it more due to his luck and your hasty deployment leaving sizable gaps, the burst of danmaku clips him across the face; more connects but seems to hit against his armor uselessly.
>You can see three openings, as he recovers from the hit. One is his legs, you can there are gaps in his armor there to allow for motion. Another is his side, opposite of his shield, where you can see a gap near his waist. The third is his shield arm, which is at an awkward angle at the moment.

>Go for the shield arm!
>If the blow connects usefully, try to take advantage of his weakened grip and knock the shield forcefully away with our other hand. If opportunity and angles are favorable, try to knock it in the direction of being over the fence, but otherwise don't be too picky; just try to get it out of his hands.
>Use flight to evade upward if he attempts to strike back at us at the same time, with enough lateral movement to aid in this dodge, depending on the angle of the incoming strike.

>You go for his shield arm. Sir Kay seems to see this attack coming and is able to draw his arm back, until the shield hugs his armor, and closes the gap you were trying to exploit. He doesn't seem to be trying to counterattack, instead focusing on regaining the rest of his bearing and closing easy access to those other openings.

>Are we able to spawn danmaku from the sky falling down at pretty random angles?

>AS A CLARIFICATION:  You can get a rather nasty rain going, but it takes some pretty thorough concentration, which may be a bad idea in a situation like this.

>Summon a quick bubble rain and then go for the strike

>You make A quick rain of bubbles, then close in.
>As you do, Sir Kay seems to have the same idea, closing in on you. You consider aiming for his leg, but his shield interferes with this opening and would probably interfere with your attack. He leads in with the shield, keeping his weapon back and keeping his body angled toward you.
>"Excellent tricks!" he says, "You are formidable indeed!"
