Sniper's Machina. Look at it, it's beautiful. Also, dat serverwide sound when you kill two or more people in one hit. Especially when you kill more than two d00dz in one hit.
I am excited. Shame it's so hard to craft. I really want it, though. I want to make people go deaf with stacked, ultra-loud fanfare sounds.

Ah well, I don't even have any other Sniper's sniper rifles, plus I kinda forgot how fun Huntsman sniping can be. There is plenty fun to be had in other ways. I can wait warmly until it drops for me.

Today's opposition to my tour:
50% Engie sentry spam (AKJFKAJFIA I hate multi-sentry Engie nests - absurdly difficult to deal with)
30% Demo grenade/sticky spam
10% W+M1 Spam
5% Rocket Spam
3% Single-class dominated teams (usually Engies)
2% Fail Spies who I managed to easily kill

But still made a fortune of backstabs, saps, and points. Forced a few to ragequit as well :V

In the meanwhile Shady went nuts with Machina sniping...too many puncture kills. He also happens to have a Your Eternal Revolver.

I can understand one or two battle Engies running around.

But four? No, fuck that. Those damn mini-sentries have too fast of a reaction time, and deal too much damage by themselves. You HAVE to deal with them as soon as you see one - and while you are, the Engineer is loading you up with pistol or shotgun shots as well. Suddenly you put two of them covering each other and you pretty much just fall over dead instantly unless you're an overhealed Heavy.

And then, when you finally DO destroy one or the other, or both, they're rebuilt in under a second, likely with both of them facing you specifically and deliberately now.

Wait, you mean heavy's default melee weapon, his fists? Woah, never seen those being of strange quality. I'd hold on to them. It sounds fun to be able to make Heavy's bare hands legendary.

There are online services for showing your inventory I think, but I am not using any and don't know any. Plus I really don't know how to trade with people. So far I've only traded with my IRL friend and it was pretty easy. I hope we don't have to be both online at the same time? Because you know, time zones.

Dammit. I was considering starting playing an engineer with mini-sentries. And maybe with Widowmaker (when I get one). Run and gun without having to reload, spam mini-sentries and other random structures wherever you go... Sounds cool to me, but apparently not that cool to anyone else.

Also, I noticed that The Shortstop's reload time was doubled while I was away from TF2. It made me moderately angry. It really shows.
Well, apparently The Shortstop deserved a nerf. I liked barraging people with a non-stop rapid shower of pellets, though.
Though not that long ago i killed about 15 people during a single life with the nerfed Shortstop, and I only lived like 5 minutes or so, but we were basically camping their spawn on a payload map. Mad Milk + Fan-o-War + The Shortstop = a pretty fun way to play a Scout in my book.

Both players have to be online to trade (for offline, gift wrap is needed). However they don't have to be in TF2 - Steam Trading will work.

TF2Items and TF2B are two online sites for checking backpacks. Former is more similar to the TF2 backpack interface and has loadouts (though that feature is ATM broken) but is limited to 6 pages; latter has as many spaces as your backpack has and shows equipped items directly in backpack viewer, not to mention the stats above.

The issue is that you could run out of metal quickly, reducing the opportunities for setting up buildings and moving around without finding ammo packs or dropped weapons. At least bring a Pistol with you in case you do run low on metal.

Also, mini-sentries are more of an annoyance, but they are very effective. That is, if it's just 1 or 2 Engies doing so, and not a Engie party. Then it becomes a total pain in the ass.

I didn't like this much either. Loved using that quick-reload Shortstop on VSH in conjunction with a Crit-a-Cola.

Spawncamping penalty go :V

For me, a Scattergun - Milk - Bat loadout works well in vanilla, with a Scattergun - Crit-a-Cola - Sandman for VSH (where the likelihood of being overhealed enough to survive a hit is very unlikely)

I've always thought that Mini-Sentries are fairly balanced. I mean sure, a ton of them in one place aside (and that's why you have Demos), they aren't too much of a threat. Any offensive class, possibly aside from a Scout, should be able to finish off two of them out in the open without dying, and most Engineers aren't competent enough to pose a real threat to the firepower of an offense class. When they're hidden it's more of an issue, but I find plenty more things capable of that (OH HI W+M1 BACKBURNER PYROS AND STICKY SPAM DEMOS) to be more annoying than Mini-Sentries.

The problem with the mini-sentries though is when it's not just a lonesome Engineer around a corner, but rather one in a group of his friends in a fire zone. The sentry has perfect aim through all the chaos, and the Engineer can duck and juke around your shots if you're aiming at him while his turret eats you alive, and if you're focusing on the mini-sentry, he just pops a few shots at you and gets another mini-sentry ready the second you blow the other one up.

While chasing him? Drops one after going around a corner and keeps going, possibly turning around and backpedaling away from the corner to shoot you in tandem with his turret, likely turning a chase-n-kill into a suicide run with no gain on your part.

And on top of that, the damn things have tremendous bullet-shove. It's like being hit by a level two Sentry Turret. They'll stop a Pyro dead in his tracks and will EASILY throw off a Scout's jumping patterns/landings, as well as throw a rocket-jumping Soldier aside.

If you're looking to trade, there's www.tf2tp.com where you can search through offers people have made or make one yourself.

There's also www.tf2wh.com which works more like a store. You sell them items for points and then exchange those points for whatever you want. They only accept so much of a certain item so common things like normal weapons might be kind of hard to dump now, but hats, accessories and metal can get you a good amount. I'd recommend only selling them refined if you do though.

The whole point of the mini-sentry is to make the engie a more combat-oriented class. Instead of having to camp at a nest in order score some kills, he can be more mobile and still do a fair amount of damage. In exchange, he loses is the power of a level 3, which can lock down areas with its tremendous firepower.

The mini-sentry keeps the edge the engie had over the lighter combat classes (scouts and pyros), who have no natural counter to sentries of any kind (excluding ubers, bonk, and possibly reflecting sentry rockets), while making him weaker to the other classes (excluding medics), who have enough health and/or damage output at range to easily destroy them and him. If the mini-sentry wasn't strong enough to deal with at least those two, then it would be absolutely worthless, as then the engi would lose the power of the level 3 and gain nothing in return.

In VSH news, Kyo Tanaka and I have proven that Booties Demoknight is a legitimate strategy in VSH, provided that many (6+) go Demoknight rush on Hale. Not as effective vs. CBS or in Lumberyard, Sawmill, or Nucleus, though.

And, seeing that this week is US Thanksgiving, I say it's perfect time to W+M1 that turkey, stuff it with stickybombs, bake the dinner rolls with some Mad Milk, etc. In other words, TF2 meets on our server are in good consideration for this week!

I think Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are good in terms of days; however, I am not sure about times (help me here Gpop :V).

Expected: plenty of CP and Payload, along with VSH.

So you were The_EP I saw. :V

Each hit with demoknight on VSH does about 195 damage, and with 4 heads on Eyelander a demoknight can survive a crit hit from Hale and have enough speed to escape from him.

Thursday and Friday are perfect time to do the Thanksgiving Fest, but I think I may have to miss one of those days because I have to go have a Thanksgiving dinner with my family and friends.

Hm, good thinking. I tend to go 1001 Demoknights loadout in VSH, though, with a Half-Zatoichi for vanilla Demoknight madness.

I traded for a Strange Degreaser last night but then I thought about it for a minute. Would I be actually getting those kills with the Degreaser itself or the Reserve Shooter/Postal Pummeller? Maybe if it counted reflect kills, it would be nice, but I think I'll trade it for a regular flame thrower or a Backburner.

They think I'll think that they'll do (A) so they'll do (B) because I wouldn't think they'd think of that but then because they might think I know what they're thinking they'll do (A) after all because I wouldn't think they'd think that way.

That was a good play there Gpop, while I was doing worse than normal and kept running into multi-Engie nests (GAH I HATE THOSE THINGS) and Heavies/Pyros/Soldiers turning the corner.

I'd go for Strange Amputators, Half-Zatoichis, and YERs, but I really don't care about the stat-tracking too much.
