They kinda suck, I'm using them for a heavily touhou-based danmaku game we are making in danma...Game maker 8.0 ( )

So, yup. These are all going to be used, but I'll edit the shorter one later today.

I like them. They sound pretty nice, and would certainly fit in a touhou-ish game.

Game maker 8.0 ( )

Oh, please. There's nothing wrong with that.

Took a bit of listens to this...a few comments:

First, and most importantly, which DAW, plus VSTi/SF2/AU/DXi/hardware combination do you use? It sounds like THFont or Hyper Canvas/TTS-1, and it definitely isn't Logic or Garageband or you'd use Mac OS.

General:
Seems you use Harpsichords as bass. It's a bit weak by itself...add a finger/pick/fretless bass using the same notes to make up for the missing frequencies.

Too much reliance on melodic piano. Change the melody instrumentation every now and then.

It seems there wasn't much mixing done with any of these.

Some more reverb would be nice.

Song 1 - A bit too simple for Touhou-esque. Stick a counter-melody.
Song 2 - Again, piano solo could use harmonies (fourths) or a counter-melody. Electric Piano is too mellow. Trumpets...ugh, for the ZUNpet feel...well, I'll answer that after getting the answer for the above question on DAWs.
Song 3 - Sounds a bit ZUN-style. Not bad pacing. Again too much piano. I kind of hear a counter-harmony...nice.
Song 4 - Strings are weak - try boosting stereo spread. Bass is better.
Song 5 - Not too defeatist. Piano is too bright for the backing bass/organs IMO. Could really use a counter-melody. I hear the THFont ZUNpet, so....
Song 6 - Harpsichords are nice but could be stronger. Strings are again weak at times. Oboe doesn't quite fit - too much attack. Square waves don't quite fit the rest of the song. Weaken the attack and adjust the character if possible, or change instruments. ZUNpet is nice but it needs stereo spread, maybe put in fourths as well.
Glad to see some patch mixing, but still a counter-melody would be nice.

If you stick with MP3 I suggest using 320kbps 48kHz CBR encodes.

I'd place these more around... oh, I dunno, Stage 2, 3? Definitely getting there. I can actually see the work you put into these.

Thanks for the suggestions. I Used THFont, but now I use a few others including Edirol SuperQuartet. Now that I know that my songs lack a lot, I'll do a bit better...

...I kinda wanna here your touhou songs now. :wat:

That's exactly what I was aiming for, at least for a few.
