You may have heard from me before that I'm working on my second Danmakufu game. I'm about halfway done with all the work. All character art (which was a lot of work) is done, and so are most of the spellcard backgrounds and mechanics. The spellcards are halfway finished. The real work that's left is are main menu and all the actual stages with enemies. Making stages is something you should keep for the end when making a full game, how fun it may be.
I finally learned to use tasks after finishing the previous game (:V) so in the technical department this game is a big improvement. Expect more special effects and other extra's.
This game has different mechanics from Summer Interlude. The main character, Ryo, plays differently from Masahiro. Masahiro used Alchemy as his theme, and if you played the first game you'll know that Ryo's theme is Ninja. :3
You can't switch player types with C anymore. When you hold the C button it increases your reach to collect items, and when it's at its maximum, you automatically collect items when you graze bullets. You can't shoot while holding C though, so know your priorities!
Instead of using a button, you now automatically change player types when you bomb or lose a life. One of the two new items can prevent this...
One of them fills a gauge (and so does grazing) that gives you Supernatural Border when it fills up, which I named Substitute mode in this game. (And bombs are called Ninpou to match the theme).
The other item can potentially make the game easier... I'll keep the details to myself for now, but you'll love collecting them.
There isn't much to say about the story, it's less serious than the other. Basically Ryo does his best not to put any effort in their class' cultural festival subject while constantly running into his friends and foes.
This game will be shorter than the other, still 6 stages, but the stages are smaller and there are less spellcards. Not every character will appear in one playthrough because of that, so you get the chance to make a few choices that decide who you will meet.
Screenshot time!
As usual these screenshots are all Lunatic difficulty, as that is the first difficulty I make spellcards in.

Much of the game takes place in their school that spreads over 3 grades with each their own uniform. Ryo is in the lowest grade, and his opponent Takeo here is in the middle grade.

A screenshot of the battle of the extra stage. This mysterious magical girl is attacking the darkness!

Momiji gari, the Japanese art of admiring the autumn leaves as they drop on your hitbox.

These two witches had no role as boss (or did they!) in the previous game, but now they do. This is also the only double boss battle in the game.

Ryo, this is either the first or second spellcard you'll see, depending on how nice you are to your older sister.
